Foster's Grill

I decided to head out into the countryside today and get a taste of some good old Americana: cheeseburger, hotdog, and Brunswick stew.I made my way to Foster's Grill in Reidsville, NC for my take-out order. The owner told me that they are actually more busy during the disease-that-shall-not-be-named crisis than they were before. So I guess there are some restaurant businesses that are actually doing a little bit better during these times.As far as the food here is concerned:The hotdog all the way was very good--a solid four stars. The all-beef wiener (they have a choice of all beef or red) was very tasty, the slaw was good, and the chili was very tasty. The bun left something to be desired--it was over steamed or something.The Foster burger was very average. I asked for medium and it was well done, but it had a decent flavor. The bun seemed old. Certainly it was wrinkled. Very unremarkable.The crinkle fries proved that not all fries are created equal--they were fresh, hot, and delicious. Have you ever been to a slaughterhouse? A pork slaughterhouse? The first time I went to one I was visiting the Swaggerty Sausage Company's production plant in Kodak, Tennessee. That porcine smell of slaughtered pig is like no other. It will get in your nose and stay there. Unfortunately, that smell was heavy in the Brunswick stew. It was so strong that I could not even eat it. It had a huge amount of pork meat in it, but that sickening smell of porcine death was overwhelming. The people at Foster's are very nice, and they have a respectable 98 sanitation grade. But if you go here, stick with the hotdogs.

I really enjoyed this little stop. It seems to cater to the locals. We saw many workers there on their lunch breaks. I thought that the foster burger was really good and well prepared. The butter bun is a nice touch. You could tell that the beef was freshly ground and was cooked to order. I had the loaded fries which had chili, onion, cheese and jalapeños and I would say that it was average to above average. The Gentleman taking orders was super friendly and certainly was good at his job as the line moved fairly quickly despite the high volume of folks. I would certainly return for their excellent burger. Though I hear that there steak sandwich is a winner as well.

Order Beef Hot Dog it was not beef Pork& Chicken.Ice Tea Had No Ice , Fries was not that Good , Tea was hot . Food was not Good. Don't Like

Hadn't been here since the new ownership. Always go for the hotdogs and today was no exception! Great service as well!

I have to admit that I have never been to Foster's Grill. But my family has gone there & bought some good pinto beans & coleslaw- it was so tasty. But recently I wanted a burger so bad all I wanted was a burger with tomato & onion,mayo, been dreaming of it, & my friend said let's get it from Foster's - it was heavenly my dream came true, I'm talkin delicious! Only bad thing is I'm not a morning person, & they close at 2pm, but if you want good cookin,!I'm gonna start getting up earlier. So people try it out when you go pass Vance St, you've gone too far it's on the right hand side of Harrison St. (87) going towards town. Give it a try I really like it!

Very late opening first of all. Nothing impressive about food, quality, service or ambience. Had to substitute some of my order because they hadnt prepped or cooked the vegetables I had ordered. Once I got food order, I realized my 1st substitute was substituted AGAIN without my knowledge and food was very flavorless. My own hotdogs have more flavor than theirs did. The chili was bland and meatless to be "homemade". Wont return.

Go to Cobbs Grill they deserve your money delicious yummy food service every TIME I've been!!!!

This a great, family run business with amazing food. I got a hamburger steak with gravy over rice, it was fantastic. For my sides I got cabbage and yams, both were amazing! Would definitely recommend this place. Everyone was very sociable and enjoyable to be around. Will come back for sure!

Foster's Grill has some great food. Everything tastes homemade and the service was quick.

Amazing food and amazing staff! My co workers and I order our lunch from here at least 3 out of the 5 work days, and we are NEVER disappointed. Portions are plentiful, food is delicious, and the service you receive is worth every penny spent! I cannot boast enough about this hidden gem! If you've never tried their food, please do, you will not be disappointed!
