Ahh, the dreadful 1 star. Service is huge in my book and the service received on this visit was so poor I couldn't give any leniency. I'll get back to this.Parking is free on the street so keep your head on a swivel when approaching. It's a walkable area if you've never been to this part. As I walked in, I'm not sure what I was expecting but it's a very casual, relaxed spot. Came on a Tuesday and they have specials for the raw oysters. Now those oysters were delicious. A bit gritty so I wonder about the quality of preparation but taste wise they were good. Outside of the oysters I tried the crab cake - very fishy, not much flavor, the gumbo - a waste of money imo (If you aren't used to real gumbo you may be okay with theirs but my mom's is from Louisiana, we like flavor over here), and also tried the fried oyster taco which was decent. Back to the service, our server was an older lady with an English accent. Couldn't tell really because she spoke so fast and quite frankly rushed us at every step of the dining experience. At one point we wanted to get refills on our drinks and when mentioned, she put her index finger up as in "hold on" or "one second" or maybe "be quiet"??? It was rude but we obliged and she said nothing to acknowledge the request and just disappeared. After waiting unusually long for it we asked again and she got them for us shortly after that. She wasn't pleasant or nice. I wouldn't have minded her style if she was respectful and attentive but she was neither. Felt like we were bothering her to have been there and who wants to feel that way when winding down after work? Would I go back? Absolutely not. Truly hope others do not have the same experience as I did because the place has potential.

This restaurant looked inviting. The atmosphere was good, and there was a good crowd assembled even at 9 PM on a Tuesday. So we gave it a try. After 20 minutes of being ignored, not even being asked for our drink order, my son went to tell the host we were being ignored. He immediately came over and took our order. The drinks came out shortly after accompanied with lots of apologies about "the mixup with the servers."Seven minutes later we had our food. The Jambalaya with shrimp and scallops was good. My wife's shrimp and grits was excellent.Bottom line: This is a very good restaurant, once they notice you. If you get ignored, don't just sit there and stew, go see the host. He will get you served.

This was my first time trying fontaines and I've heard so many great things about it. The ambiance feels like you've stepped onto bourbon street in NOLA. We were seated outside on the patio which was fine since the weather was nice. The service itself was pretty good, our waitress was pretty attentive but not overbearing. For the food, I ordered the catfish basket and Rockefeller oysters. This was the first time trying oysters and they were pretty good! I'd definitely try them again! The fried catfish was hot and fresh, however could've used a little more seasoning in the batter. The fries were kind of soggy so I could've done without. I definitely will come back to try more items off the menu!

After getting out of church, we wanted something that had a nice menu selection that would please all of us. Furthermore, yesterday was the perfect day for a patio setting and all roads led to Fontaine's Oyster House. Parking was a breeze as they have Valet parking behind the building. Once I parked I walked around and headed on in. The ambiance was very casual and upbeat. The temperature of the lighting was dim to give a mild tone to the overall feel, however, the natural light from the front windows and patio gave ample lighting. We decided to sit on the back patio to enjoy the weather being that it wasn't too hot or too cold. Upon taking a look at the menu, I was excited at all the finger options. I decided to get the Grouper Fingers with Tater Tots and a Sweet Tea! Sweet Tea - Fresh, Perfectly Sweet, Refreshing, and absolutely a must try for my sweet tea lovers. Grouper Fingers - Golden Battered, Crunchy on the outside, moist and meaty on the inside. Well seasoned, great portion size, good quality of grouper. Tater Tots - One Word, AMAZING. Perfectly deep fried, not greasy, seasoned to perfection, and paired very well with the grouper. The tarter sauce tasted homemade and was very good. It paired perfectly with the batter of the Grouper as well as the Tater Tots! Oh yes. This was a great lunch. The service provided by Reece was amazing. He was all smiles and ensured our cups were filled and the table had everything we needed. Overall, Fontaine's Oyster House was a great experience and I will be back to try more items on the menu.

Attended around 1pm on a Saturday afternoon and restaurant was pretty empty. Immediately sat down outside on their patio. Hostess was dry but our waitress was very attentive and kind. The food was great. I had the NOLA oysters which although they were good they were notably very small which is why I'm deducting a star. The spinach dip however was good. Food and service was good will definitely return

Fontaine's brought so much joy to me and my stomach. This spot has a hell of a playlist that makes you want to dance and sing to back to back classics. There is inside and outside seating, the inside is very dim lighting. All of the food was so delicious full of flavor. I recommend eating here. Come early if you have a reservation because the parking in he area is almost nonexistent.

Visited for the Tuesday oyster special and the wait was about two hours (visited next door and had entrees in the meantime). It wasn't clear the line outside was just to put our names down but whatever. We each had oysters. I decided to go with blue points which were NOT part of the special but still reasonably priced. They were ok. Not especially tasty but I guess they can't control that.Drinks were good quality and came fast despite the packed restaurant.Key lime pie was delicious. Would return again just for that.

Food was fantastic. Service was so hospitable from the host to the wait staff. It's very casual and NOLA themed. I would definitely be back! Try the green Tabasco sauce with the dip when you go. Cheers!
