Federales - Denver

Fun place, great atmosphere. Tried a raspberry marg with 1800 and tajin on the rim - super tasty. I love that you can customize your marg however you want. We tried the queso fundido and it was phenomenal with homemade tortillas. Also tried the lamb quesobirria tacos, these are only served certain days of the week - I wasn't expecting the heat they came with - I was under the impression these are not usually that spicy (my misunderstanding?)....for a person that doesn't get heartburn it was instant...nothing a tums can't fix though. Would definitely come again if in town. We were here for 1.75hrs and only saw our server Aaliyah 3 times (once having to get her attention) so the length of time spent here was much longer than it needed to be, but need to factor in they are slammed and I only see 3 servers.

Overrated. A place where meat heads on testosterone flood in to push people around and act tough. You'll probably get in a fight here and be kicked out, it's worth going once to have Mediocre food and drinks and then throw an ice shot at the bell and miss too many times.We've all been once or twice and it's never memorable.

I visited a Friday happy hour. The tacos were very good, just what I was looking for. I love what has become known as the Gringo taco - ground beef in a crispy taco shell. The steak taco - excellent. The lamb taco, just ok, I would not order the lamb taco again here. I really enjoyed the complimentary HH chips and salsa. The chips made in house, warm, and a nice seasoning. The salsa, more of a thicker pico de gallo style, excellent.The atmosphere was very LOUD! If I were in my younger years, I would love this busy Friday atmosphere, and probably visit often. These days, not as much, ok, getting older. Blah.The service: I sat at the bar and my server was really attentive (he deserves 6 out of 5 stars, the others, 1 star) but a couple times I tried to get other servers' attention, and they were always talking to each other, and not paying attention to the customer. They had so many servers, they would just socialize amongst themselves. (And drinking a lot of profits away, fyi).Annoying: an off duty employee stood next to me drinking, talking/shouting "shop" with a working employee behind the bar, shouting in my ear and spewing germs and saliva on my food and drink. That is why a five star review drops to 3, and I left earlier than later.

Federales is known for their tequila bell! It's where you take a shot out of an iced shot glass and then throw it at the bell. It's harder than you think! The vibes are good, great people, good music, decent service, but not a huge fan of their food. Their queso was a solid 6.5. Their salsa is a little on the spicy side as they leave the jalapeño seeds in it. Come for the night life and drinks!

Two year later, the Hatch Chile Nachos at Federales are still fantastic! Came here with my friend after a happy hour event, and I love how late they're open. I already had my fill of margaritas but couldn't resist a heaping pile of dressed-up nachos. Every chip had plenty of toppings. It was all delicious. Service at the bar was fine. Definitely gets a little rowdy but would keep coming back again whenever I'm partying out in RiNo.

We enjoyed the Chips, salsa, guacamole and chicken taquitos! All delicious. I had the resposado old fashioned..delish!! The rest of our party enjoyed classic margaritas! So good. Tried to Ring the Bell, epic fail but FUN. Fun venue with inside and outside seating. Would have been 5 stars, but there was no soap in the men's or women's restroom! Wait, where is your server washing their hands. We did tell our server and went back in to check.. still no soap

Came here after the Rockies Game. Margarita was very good, Mango/Raspberry mixed. Tried the Gringo Tacos, affordable and yummy. I didn't like how loud it was, but definitely a fun place to come with friends. Service was really good, and food came out fast. I will visit again

I am still reeling from how good the tacos here are. First of all, the vibes here were great. We went right before the 4th of July, so the place was decked out in USA decor, and it got pretty crowded as the evening went on. It's a good spot to grab a casual meal or to pregame before going out. We got some chips and queso, which were pretty good. They had great options of cocktails and margaritas. What really stood out from that night were the tacos. I got a shrimp taco and a lamb special taco, and after a bite of each I was close to tears. I am excited to try the other tacos on the menu!

Great service at the bar, they know how to party here but the food is superb, so don't just drink. Chicken taco was a knockout, spicy shrimp was hot. It not overpowering. A great place for drinks with friends, and a nibble

We were here on baseball opening day and with the level of service we received (excellent), you would not have guessed it! The nachos were delightful and came with a gravy boat of cheese. Who am I kidding, I DREAM about these nachos! I received some additional hot sauce in an adorable shot glass. The drinks were absolutely killer as well! I can't wait to fly back to Denver and visit here!
