ESTHER'S.....The pics say it all! I have no words.Oxtails, Pork Chops and Wings!.This place is a cultural phenomenon.

I ordered smothered pork chops, dark meat chicken, rice and Mac and Cheese. I received corn instead of Mac and cheese and white mean chicken.The pork chops were extremely tough to the point that I had to throw them away and the gravy is from a packet. Rice was cooked well and the fact that it was Mexican corn made it so odd

Found this soul food restaurant on tic tok and decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad we did. The food was just how we liked it, like my momma cooked it with love. The service was fast. The restaurant does have carryout also, cute, not too big dine in area they have a bar when you first walk in which was nice. If you are ever in the neighborhood, stop in and check them out.

Came for lunch this week; certain items are only available on certain days, so be sure and check their menu. Restaurant is clean, comfortable seating, and nice staff; welcoming and helpful. Do realize that the 'Cajun' in their name means that many of their dishes are spicy. I chose chicken spaghetti, and it was somewhat spicy, as well as the mac n cheese. Yams were good, cornbread was hard on the edges, so i did not get to enjoy much of my piece. Portions are very large, so patrons could share. The mac n cheese was also too salty. Not for my taste, so i would not return.

I'm updating my review of Esther's 1) Because they have a new location & 2) Because I'm grown.The new(ish) spot is waaaay more spacious & accommodating to Esther's crowd. They're no secret at this point, so it's nice to be able to see them better cater to people who come from all over the city. The food/menu is virtually the same...which I love, because why change? It was perfect before, so you'll enjoy it even better now. The added bar space w/signature cocktails was an unexpected addition. I popped in to grab & go with my order, but I plan on going back to see what that's all about. They also now have a patio area with live bands/music. Hope you like to slow groove & zydeco! Esther's did not. come. to. play. They plan to feed you & feed you well, & make sure you have a good time; the whole time. Literally can't ask for much more! Highly recommend.

The food was amazing. I hadn't been to a really good soul food restaurant in a hot minute. The restaurant has been in the same location for 55 years, but it doesn't look like it has been at the same location for that amount of time. The aesthetic is trendy and chill. The service is great, my coworker ordered the fried chicken and they let him know upfront it would be about a 15 minutes wait. Fried fish was on point! The macaroni was creamy, the cabbage was slightly sweet. I haven't tried the corn bread yet, but it's a perfectly colored large slice. I will definitely be back!

Great food, and fast service. Beautiful surroundings with wonderful atmosphere. Friendly people to meet, greet, and serve you. I highly recommend this business.

Discovered this place June 6th and let me tell you this is homestyle cooking like my mother used to do. Great food the young lady working cashier was very friendly, great smile.Atmosphere is comfortable, extremley clean with great AC. LOL!

I really enjoyed my experience at Esther's. The food was all hot and well seasoned. We got the catfish and chicken and multiple sides!!! Also, the service was 10/10. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Never had to ask for a thing.

Recently, a family member bought me back a plate for my lunch. They took one piece of chicken for themselves and left me with the majority of the plate. Usually I will cook lunch for the week, but I will be leaving town soon. So I thought it would be best to eat out until Im back to my normal schedule. Anyway, they bought back a fried chicken thigh, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. First off, the chicken! The chicken thigh was completely pink in the center, which pink juices flowed after cutting into it. Assuming the chicken was pulled too early from the fryer, I did not eat it. The outside breading was also pretty soggy and greasy. Overall, it's not a great piece of chicken. (I've had better at fast food spots.) I really hope they are not serving raw chicken to the majority of customers. CHECKING MEAT TEMPERATURES MUST BECOME A PRIORITY! I could have gotten seriously ill if I just went to town with no awareness. The potatoes were just meh. I did enjoy the overall flavor, but they texture was off for me. I'm not sure what potato they used, but the skin did not lend well to be eaten. It was very fibrous and chewy. I had to spit out pieces of the skin. It also had a certain tang. I'm not sure if it was from sitting on a hot plate all day or from buttermilk or sour cream. Who knows....The macaroni and cheese were probably the best part of the plate. Very pleasant pasta. Creamy sauce and well seasoned. It wasn't mushy or anything. In fact, the pasta still had a nice bite. I don't think I will be back anytime soon. I don't want my refund and I don't even want a new plate of food. Now I'm left without lunch until I clock out. The vending machine it is....
