Incredible service and even better food. The Tomato Gazpacho is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time!

Elastika stands out for its fascinating and contemporary architecture--it's truly a chic spot with stunning decor that creates a great ambiance. The staff is well-trained and professional, adding to the overall experience. However, when I visited for Miami Spice, the food unfortunately lacked flavor, which was a bit of a letdown. I'm hoping it was just the Miami Spice menu, and I plan to return to try the regular offerings to see if it's a better representation of what they can do. The atmosphere alone makes it worth another visit.

This is a beautiful place located in the Design District w/ $5 valet for convenience. Myself and a few others decided to try Elastika for the first time during Miami Spice and outside of the architecture, I was a little underwhelmed by the experience. First, the seating policy. I was late since I had an obligation that ran longer than expected. I let the group know ahead of time that I would be late and if the whole table needed to be present, then go ahead and sit and I would figure it out when I arrived. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the hostesses started giving the group problems on my behalf. They wouldn't seat me and said I was not allowed to join their table later. The group, not wanting me to miss out, decided to wait. I arrived 30 min later for them to say they gave the reservation away and we had to wait for them to fit us in. No problem, but for the next 30 min, the hostess and a member of our group are going back and forth because of the hostess attitude. We understand everyone has a job to do but how you interact with guests matters especially if they're not disrespecting you. I ordered a Paloma from the bar while waiting and was disappointed, it tasted like a sweet margarita. We were finally sat at a table that could've easily fit 6 people - majority seating are booths prepped to fit that group size or larger except for a few 2 tops - so where they would've sat the original group of 3, 4 would've been completely doable. Next came the menu - all great options but the portion was more tapas size for what I ordered. I ended up getting the kingfish crudo and scallops. The server did let me know the scallops were small but still considered it a decent portion. On their regular menu, you get 3 pieces but for Miami Spice, you get 2. They are the size of half dollars so now I'm feeling jipped. I spent $60 for snack size items. On top of that, it was pretty standard in taste. The peach dessert was amazing but I had to fill up on it since I barely ate. I did have expectations since I've heard good things but I would not visit again during Miami spice since I don't consider the deal worth it. I don't want to count out another visit since the vibe was great despite everything.

TL/DR: Front desk policies 2 to 3, our waiter and the dishes I ordered a solid 4, and architecture/looks/vibe a 5. They're really strict with the seating policy, even if there an unforeseen circumstances and someone runs late. A friend in our party was running late due to that epic Miami traffic, and 3 of us were already there. The front desk hostess refused to sit us, and even dropped our reservation, causing an additional wait even after our friend arrived. If I were a restaurant owner, if the majority of a group of 4 is there, I would sit that group down while the 4th arrives. Those that are there would be ordering drinks, sides, maybe even mains beyond the Miami Spice menu. But their attitude left a bad taste in our mouths which led to no additional gratuity over the mandatory 20 percent. While we waited, I had their "Serpenthai" rum cocktail. While tasty, it was mostly ice..not necessarily $20 plus automatic gratuity. Still and all, I ordered this cocktail a few other times because it was a better deal than the Hennessy cocktail. It had none of the additional flavor and was served in a small tin cup that would have not felt in place in a home from pre gentrification Wynwood ("un tibor iykyk")Credit where credit is due, once we sat at our table, our waiter was actually really pleasant. We received a yummy and pretty looking gelatinous amuse bouche with a citrusy taste, before my "local lettuce" salad. Of the plates my friends ordered for Spice, this was a winner as far as portion size and flavor. The greens were fresh, and the seasoning had a nice smoky flavor. My bavette steak was juicy and took up a fair amount of real estate on my plate. The bearnaise sauce pour is cinematic and gives it a perfect oomph in flavor, along with the side veggies. My choice of spice dessert was their chocolate pot de creme, which was actually pretty good but I also would have loved the peach dessert someone else in my party ordered. Now if it was for the aesthetics and architecture, this would have been 5 stars. I would have enjoyed a serving of the neoclassical columns and the modernist bracing design by Dame Zaha Hadid, alas architecture isn't edible.

Elastika is a visual masterpiece. The architecture is stunning, creating an inviting atmosphere from the moment you step inside. However, our experience started not so great with a rough start. We had a reservation for 7:30, but one member of our party was running late due to traffic from Fort Lauderdale down to Miami. Despite our repeated assurances that she would join us soon, the host was inflexible about seating us without her, ultimately letting our reservation go and leaving us to wait nearly 40 minutes for another table.Once we were seated, the night improved significantly. Our server was attentive to our table, and the food was generally good. However, I felt that the portions on the Miami Spice menu were a bit underwhelming. The scallops, while tasty, came with only two pieces , same withr the crudo appetizer. For $60, it just felt lacking in this dishes in particular, the others were decently sized.Elastika's ambiance and service were excellent, but the initial seating policy and portion sizes left something to be desired. It's a gorgeous spot, but I hope they can improve the guest experience.

Pros: The locale is beautifully decorated, its modern, clean, with luscious booths. The Heydar drink was delicious, I love a place with unique libations. I went for Miami spice and ordered the gazpacho, the gnocchi, and the ice cream. The gazpacho was delicious. Cons: my gnocchi was okay, I just had fresh gnocchi at another restaurant last week, so my expectations were high and I was very disappointed, they were not soft pillows, they tasted like regular pasta. My buddy had the snapper, I didn't care for it, it was too fishy.Service was also lacking. The server wasn't very attentive. You expect outstanding service when the prices are so high.Overall, good place for drinks, but the food left a lot to be desired.

Came because our friend saw the Miami spice menu, which is actually such a good deal. The things that stood out to me: -it's a really beautiful space. Stunning architecture -service was SO friendly. I feel like Miami service can sometimes be... a little snooty. They were so nice, and it made us so much more comfortable. -drinks were really good - everything from cocktails to mocktails (not on the menu) were well balanced and tasty -food is incredibly beautiful and well executedFood - -the crudo looks like nothing but is actually a great portion. -gazpacho was really good re being refreshing and tomato-ey, but the bread was what stood out. Nice crust, soft on the inside, really tasty oil on it -portions are not enormous. Scallops for spice are two scallops. My orecchiette was good but was not as "fishy" as I would like. -the desserts were amazing. The peach chamomile tart was beautiful. The chocolate dessert was really good also - again well balanced and executed. Will return! Spice menu makes it easier, otherwise price point for me personally is not a weekly spot. We got lost bc of google maps. Do not follow it - it is on the main block NOT inside a corridor next to Aesop.

Wow I love this place. I came to check out the Miami spice menu and ended up staying for a long time as there is a nice lounge area upstairs. They have an interesting cocktail selection and the food presentation/taste was great! I can't wait to come back and try out their regular menu.

I give one season. I went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. First the appearance: stunning. The restaurant, anchored by the art installation Elastika, for which the restaurant is named for is on the first floor of the Moore Building. The sole reason I give it any stars. The second floor is their private club. This review covers both. The drinks were hit or miss. We waited for our party at the bar. To get anyone's attention was painful. For a bar that was not packed. Try bartending a Saturday night at Hillstone's in the Gables. Good luck! After finally getting a bartender's attention we were given a martini and cosmo. The martini was good the cosmo a dud. The appetizers were meh. In fact the whole meal was meh. Your given a pina colada gelatinous appetizer to cleanse the pallet; it doesn't. Then a yellow tail sashimi was ok. The table was then given three entrees: rib-eye buried under a heap off mish mash vegetables, the chicken was smoked and fried. KFC looks more appealing. The yellow snapper was over cooked. It was just a smorgasbord of food, no theme that I could discern. Explanation of dishes was pithy. The upper floor has a Van Orsdel or Caballero funeral home vibe. There was a DJ playing in one of the rooms and the Century Village crowd was jamming. Some in our group had paid for the membership; why? By 930 I was out and not soon enough. I am sure when Art Basel season starts the denizens of New York will winter here and flood the place with instagramable moments. However, you can't eat Instagram. Once the New Yorkers leave like a flock of locusts I give Elastika until May of 2025. There is no way it survives the Summer of 2025.
