This past weekend, I visited Eastcut with a few friends, and I appreciated how the place had a cozy yet lively atmosphere, with a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating. The ordering process was modern and convenient, done entirely through a QR code at the table, making the whole experience smooth and efficient. Service was friendly and quick, adding to the overall pleasant vibe of the visit.I decided to try the Blackboard Special of the Day--the Calabrian Burrata Cutlet. The sandwich featured a well-prepared, cripsy chicken cutlet paired with fresh arugula and tomato, and generously topped with creamy burrata. The combination was refreshing and satisfying. However, I was a bit disappointed that the Calabrian chili aioli, which I hoped would add a bold kick, didn't come through as expected. The sandwich was delicious but lacked a certain depth of flavor that I anticipated from the aioli.Despite this minor letdown, Eastcut's inviting ambiance and friendly service make it a place worth revisiting, and I'm eager to explore other offerings from their inventive menu. Next time, I'll opt for a different sandwich to see if it delivers the flavorful punch I'm hoping for!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it fell short in almost every way. For a restaurant that's so highly rated in Durham, it's sad when you can get a better Italian sandwich at a national chain like Jimmy John's. The sandwich names were fun - but mediocre in every way. Both my partner and I were extremely disappointed with the bread--my sourdough was blatantly not fresh. It was stale around the edges and crusty, while the overall texture was dry. Same for the sesame roll. The sandwiches we ordered were completely lacking in flavor. We had two deli sandwiches and two sides, with water, and our total came to $45. That's an outrageous price considering it was 2 sandwiches and a side - especially when we didn't add any extras to the sandwiches themselves. I'm sorry, but that price point for the quality we received is ridiculous. It's a cute place, service was nothing spectacular considering we had to clean our table and clear it. I have no clue why this place seems to be so popular. Highly overrated and expensive.

One of my favorite spots in Durham! My team decided to order in from Eastcut for lunch & I was so excited. Got the Calabrian Burrata Cutlet, which is a Blackboard Special, this time. It includes your choice of cutlet (I always get eggplant, would recommend), burrata (so creamy- I think they make it in house but don't quote me on that lol), arugula, tomato, calabrian chili aioli, and basil oil & parm on a sesame round roll. Overall, all the elements went well together & created a good sandwich. But tbh would not recommend take out for Eastcut, because sandwiches will inevitably get soggy, subtracting from the experience. We also got sweet potato tots and curly fries, which were classic & tasty once I air fried them.In the past, I dined in and got the East-Katsu, which includes a cutlet, kimchi slaw, tomato, pickled red onion, cilantro, sweet soy, and spicy mayo on a sesame roll with sweet potato tots. This is a lovely sandwich, and I think it's a great first time option.Service is relatively fast & friendly. Ambiance is nice & casual with both indoor & outdoor seating. 8.5/10 would recommend, but definitely try to go in person!

That one thing! Unfortunately a lot of potentially strong establishments lose ground because they don't let the one thing be the 'one thing'. East Cut is not this place. These gurus are laser focused with staying on track with their mission. I appreciate a restaurant that knows their strength and exercises restraint in attempting to be all things to everyone. Want an excellent, well made, sandwich with exceptional ingredients? Pull up to East Cut.

This place is a decent place to go get sandwiches. I placed a pick up order and the host on the phone was super nice and accommodating. The order was made within 15 minutes and was really hot still when we got home. We came at the recommendation of my friend who liked the balboa cheesesteak. He also said the chicken sandwich was great- like chick fil a "reborn again" and that he wouldn't recommend he gabagool because it tasted like subway. We got 3 balboa beefsteaks. Looking at reviews we asked to get extra american cheese and extra steak to get a nice packed sandwich. This only added about an extra $5 to each sandwich and they definitely did load it. I wasn't the biggest fan of this sandwich. It was missing enough mayo... or seasoning on the steak, or maybe just a whole different bun. I don't know what it was. When I want a cheesesteak I love a good sloppy cheesy seasoned cheesesteak and this wasn't that. This was more of a clean and deli type steak and cheese sandwich. I think the other sandwiches have potential though!

Heard about this place for a little while. Was planning to meet up with friends, so I chose it for a Saturday lunch at 12:15. It was crazy busy, standing room only. I grabbed a table just in time. I suggest avoiding this time by maybe a half an hour. There is ample parking. And a lovely, large covered patio for outdoor dining. Being winter, this wasn't a good option. However, there was a customer dining outdoors with her dog. I do appreciate pet friendly establishments.QR code ordering at the table was fantastic. Best user interface I have seen with every sandwich fully customizable. Great selection. Our lunches came out and looked good - but, they tasted even better! High-quality ingredients. Tasty combinations.Line staff was super friendly and helpful. The manager, Darren of FL, made sure that everyone waiting for a table was greeted warmly then quickly seated. We knew the owners had to be from the Northeast (like we are). They are indeed.A friend ordered a Dagwood turkey sandwich. I was instantly super jealous of her crusty, long roll, and knew I made an error in my order. I ordered the chicken parm on a round roll, which didn't hold up to the marinara as well as I would have liked. I'm ready to modify next order. My other friend had the Boardwalk Empire Italian sandwich like a hoagie on a round roll. She enjoyed it. Their breads are from Union Special bakery in Raleigh. Fantastic quality. I'll be checking them out.I am so impressed with his deli. I can't wait to go back! Thanks, Eastcut!

I love a good sandwich! Especially when the meat is good quality and the bread is toasted just right! This place is incredibly nice and I love how you scan the QR code to access the menu to take your order. They have plenty of seating outside and their menu is amazing! It's such a dope and fun vibe there. They give you a ton of fries so make sure to share them with someone.

After hearing rave reviews about Eastcut, I was excited to finally give it a try. Stepping inside, it was hard to remember when it was Piper's because the decor and even the layout seems super different. We were greeted by a friendly employee who was bussing tables, but after looking at the daily drink specials on the wall, it was not clear to us where the menus were or how to locate them. There wasn't anyone else in line, but the employees behind the bar/register didn't acknowledge us as we looked around for menus. Finally, the same employee who was bussing tables asked us if we needed menus and then pulled them from behind the register to give to us. We would have definitely appreciated them being more easily available. The menu had a lot of great-sounding choices! In the mood for something Italian-esque, I opted for the Spicy Gabagool and then added a side of sweet potato tots. The tots were the real winner and the sandwich was, unfortunately, very underwhelming. Maybe it was the cold (as in, seemed refrigerated) bread, but the sandwich was super dry. If I were to order it again, I'd ask for extra of the house vinaigrette. The option on a round roll was $11.50, which for a good sandwich, is pretty reasonable. However, I have consistently better Italian subs from the Publix deli for much less (and they're foot longs). Maybe I'll give them another shot when the weather warms up and I can enjoy the outdoor beer garden, but for that, I'd definitely try one of the hot sandwiches.

This restaurant has it all. Diverse menu, indoor outdoor seating, and the option to order from your table on your phone or at their counter. We ordered sandwhiches and a salad. The salad massive.Highly recommend the chipotle aioli dipping sauce as well.

1. Service was super quick. Food came out in 10min. Staff was friendly and kind2. Calabrian Burrata Cutlet was decent--flavors were good but missing that oomf. Feel like they could've added more of the basil oil and parm as well as the chili aioli. Got pretty dry/bland bc the cutlet is thick. Still enjoyable though3. Spicy Gabagool was pretty good. Not spicy at all. Overall a balanced sandwich and surprisingly very refreshing. It was a fulfilling summer sandwich! 4. Curly fries. Fire5. Great indoor and outdoor vibes
