E Star

It's been about 7 years since my last visit and one thing I remembered was that the service is number one followed by the food in how horrible it is. I went here with the church family and all the adults left with a sour feeling. For one the waitress, didn't believe us when we shared that the kids were under 12, she went to try to card each child. All the food tastes bland, this space gets the experience of a Chinese buffet but not the taste. I will never come back here

Oh, I had a lovely time here! My robot escorted me to my seat, and the waitress in my area was just lovely. This place is huge and well-decorated; it really caught my eye. The food options were plentiful so it's impossible to try everything but I did try to. You're best bet is to eat everything in smaller portions or just keep coming back like I'm doing.

I haven't been to very many Chinese buffets in a while, but I must say that the quality and food options at E Star is better than most I've been to in the past. I haven't been to the Willowbrook side of town in a while. Grew up going to and working at the mall nearby. E Star was once a Toys R Us.What brought us here was a post funeral celebration of life that reunited us from all over. We tend to eat out and gather after. The large room at the front was reserved, as well as some tables in the main dining just outside the room. The room had booth seating along the walls and tables with regular chairs. There were servers and managers checking in periodically delivering beverages. The downside was that they ran out of Coke, so they automatically gave me Diet Coke. When I told them and asked, they did offer to give me something else. They also ran out of tea cups/pots and served hot water in a regular plastic glass meant for cold beverages. No. Just no. They could've used the soup bowls in the buffet area. I don't understand how a buffet place runs out of Coke and hot cups before noon on a Tuesday. There's more dining space than food space, so if you have a large party, expect a long line. The food is set up in two long sections for the main food, cold food area, sushi, and desserts. They were constantly replenishing the food. I liked the green beans and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, General Tso's chicken, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeño chicken, fried dough, and sesame balls. The sesame balls filled with red bean ran out and took a while to replenish. The food tasted good. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but I left full and content. I'd come back if someone else throws an event here. Outside of the event, there are robotic waiters with cat faces. Very interesting.

Low quality Chinese buffet, which I know maybe be redundant, but there are some better than this. Fried and baked chicken wings and rice noodle dish were good. Every other fried item I got was overcooked. Some of the items looked slimy so I wasn't going to reach it. And no way I'd touch any non-fried shellfish.

After walking inside, we were hit with a very strong & gross fish odor. Interior looks nice, but reeks of fish!! Went in restroom to wash my hands and someone had thrown up in the men's urinal. It's a buffet and the food looks better than it tastes. The meat was tough and some wasn't even that warm. People working here were very nice and the kitchen staff was hustling to bring out new items they had prepared. Don't plan to comeback again! Overall - gross.

Honestly, I went into this establishment with low expectations. I went here during the weekend during lunch time. I have been here many times years ago and only saw a gradual decline in the quality of their food. Surprisingly enough the food itself was not bad. I had a bit of everything from their stir-fry vegetables to their fried foods and to their sushi as well. Nothing was amazing but I didn't find anything repulsive either. Their sea food was tastier than I would like to admit.3/5 - FoodThe service was fairly good as well and left me with no complaints. My server came around often to check if I needed anything and overall, just did a good job. 5/5 - ServiceAfter downing 4 plates of food, I expected to have the worst shits known to man because this is E Star I'm eating at after all. To my amazement, I did not get the shits at the time of writing this 7 hours later. Despite that, it may possibly be a concern to me that I haven't pooped after this long. Tread with caution, perhaps pooping and not pooping are both on the same side of the coin when it comes to need for concern.4/5 - Toilet aftermath

This is one of our favorite places to go right before shopping. It's not too heavy on the stomach or the wallet. The chef is very friendly and loves selfie's with you.

I love this place . One of my favorite Chinese buffet in Houston , Tx . The flavor is so yummy well seasoning . The employees are very nice people . And it's a really nice place to go by yourself , family and friends .:)

i am surprised no one has died from food posioning yet. Their handling of highly perishable food is scary.
