Went here again today for a second time. I got their pork soup, my mom the blood sausage soup and my dad their hangover soup with blood cubes. I have to say that I have never had pork soup and didn't know what to expect. So I have no idea if it was good or not. I can say that it was a bit gamey - for me anyway or maybe I'm just a bit sensitive to gaminess in food. I had to ask for extra salt, dadaegi, minced pepper to have the taste to my liking. I can say it was chock full of meat. They are definitely not skimping on that!My dad's soup I didn't get to taste but his was also full of meat and blood cubes. He also had to add a lot of dadaegi, minced pepper and some salt to get the soup to taste better.My mom's soup for some reason was not hot and didn't look like it had a lot of blood sausage in it. It was also accompanied with chives. No matter how much extra seasoning she added to it, she couldn't get it to taste right. She decided to take the leftovers home to give it a complete makeover.The waitresses are nice but in a sort of passive aggressive way. They seem bothered to give you extra condiments and then ask you "I guess you're done with these now? So I can take them?"A little mean, but whatever.They do give you lots of radish kimchi and cabbage kimchi - with are pretty tasty for restaurant quality. Their raw Asagi peppers dipped with the mixed soybean paste is yummy.I am not sure we will go back. The soup (well my dad's) definitely doesn't taste like it used to. My mom says she thinks the cook changed, which is definitely a possibility. M-F there are a few dishes that are on their lunch special for $9.99

Don Soo Baek (돈수백) restaurant has a striking resemblance to ToDamGoal (토담골) restaurant, which I frequented while living in New Jersey. 토담골 was renowned for its 돼지국밥, and the flavors were absolutely delightful. The hearty soup had a knack for satisfying hunger and rejuvenating my body. So, when 돈수백 opened its doors some time ago, I was quite excited. Its taste closely mirrored my experiences at 토담골. The name "돈수백" translates to "Eating reliably cooked pork and enjoying a healthy life up to 100 years old." This name embodies the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence.However, I was genuinely surprised when I noticed the restaurant's relatively low Google review rating. I couldn't fathom how such a place could receive a less than stellar rating. Upon some investigation, I uncovered two primary reasons. First, 돈수백 should consider focusing its menu solely on "pork" dishes, in line with its name, which relates to pork-based items like 돼지국밥 or 해장국. It was evident that most of the negative reviews stemmed from non-pork items such as 냉면 or 왕만두. Streamlining the menu to center around pork dishes might help elevate their offerings. I'd also recommend that customers try 돼지국밥, rather than venturing into other menu items that can easily be found in other Korean restaurants. This specialization could further enhance the dining experience. I thoroughly relished the 돼지국밥 today, as always. The thrill of adding 부추 to the steaming 돼지국밥, along with the marinated sauce and chopped pepper, was an adventure for the taste buds. The bowl was generously packed with slices of 돼지고기, perfect for dipping in the 양념새우젓. And, of course, combining the entire bowl of white rice with the 돼지국밥 was a must. To top it off, their 깍두기 and 겉절이 were exceptional. I savored every last drop of the soup and every grain of rice. This is how you savor the good life.

Food wise, this is a fine place. The Pork Soup was on $9.99 lunch special (amazing for October 2023 when everything is pricey) and was good, the radish kimchi was excellent, and the other banchans were good too.The service was lacking. One waitress during lunch time and she looked like she did not want to be there. So, don't expect good service, nor atmosphere, just go for the food and the price and be happy with it!

Korean restaurant that specializes in soups and stews. You'll notice tables spread throughout the center area and also individual rooms containing seating for more privacy. I recommend getting Kongguksu 콩국수..! It was very refreshing. Things you should know:I. PARKING Don Soo Baek is within a plaza and shares parking with the adjacent businesses. You'll always be able to find a free, available space. II. SERVICEFriendly and timely. III. QUALITY This is where my rating is 3 stars. Keep in mind 3 is average ~ not superb and not terrible. While the food is authentic, the prices, in my opinion, are high for the lack of meat quantity in the dishes. You can get much much more protein for the same price in Korea and less "filler" items. My future Korean father-in-law kept mentioning how disappointing that detail was with my 북어국 dried pollack soup. It slacked in fish.IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of available seats for a weekend at lunch hours. Show this business some love and visit.

As a frequent guest here, I always, no matter what, order the Korean blood sausage soup. It's the best I've ever had compared to other restaurants nearby. The quality of the food is always consistent and never fails to comfort my cravings. I have never seen a change of staff, and have always received amazing service. They always check in and see how my food is, and if there is anything else I needed, whether it is more side dishes or water. At the end of each meal, they give you some complementary yakult, a yogurt drink, with your check. I've seen some Korean restaurants do that, but not many. The price is also affordable, comparing to other restaurants, and also depending on what to get (but still affordable)I hope this place lasts because this is one of mine and my mom's favorite places to go for some Korean blood sausage soup.

Haven't been here in ages. The decor and staff remained the same. The decor is a typical Korean restaurant with open seating and rooms on the sides of the restaurant. I love their 닭도리탕 Dak Doritang which is the spicy chicken and potato stew. The spice level never disappoints and the heat increases as you eat more. The chicken was juicy and retained the flavor of the stew. Waitress was attentive and friendly.

It has been good whenever we go. The soup is not as thick as when it first opened but i think its still good for a quick soondae soup. Service is fast and ambiance is typical korean restaurant.

I always hate to give ratings under a 3 stars but in my books 2 stars is still "okay," I just don't think it's worth visiting. Which is saying a lot since my friends have been here 3+ times. The first time was a year ago where they tried the stews which are known to be spicy/filling. I guess if they're so spicy they're not enjoyable anymore, is it worth it? The second time my friends came again for stew and the service was questionable. The Korean ahjumma who took the order wouldn't let them pack a pepper to-go for some reason (literally the pepper that comes in banchan). I know sometimes bad service can be an indicator of good food (especially for family owned restaurants), but this was an odd encounter. The third time we came together and ordered the pancake, rice noodles, and some stews. The food was all average - definitely more starches than proteins like fish or meat in every dish despite the price - but it was fine. The same ahjumma took our order and we could see a noticeable different between her interactions with Korean-speaking customers and us (even though my Korean friend tried to speak in broken Korean lol). The only time she smiled was legit when we asked to get the check. I don't know, the experience there was just so questionable we didn't want to stay. Keep in mind I went with a group of Asian Americans - if we felt a slight presence of xenophobia, I can't imagine what other non-Korean customers would feel. Decent stews if you're into spicy things, questionable service that made us want to quickly leave. Your choice if you want to visit.

The worst steamed dumplings I've ever seen and had in my lifetime... they looked like being soaked in water prior to being put on the steaming rack. It also took them like half an hour to save these from the water... we've almost done eating everything else when they finally served these tragic dumplings. Won't ever visit again.
