I am a sucker for sweets and I will not stop myself simply because this place has non traditional sweets, by american standards. This place is conveniently located inside the ranch 99 market. Perfect for those that dine in the many restaurants located inside. When I first came I was not familiar with any of the pastries, slowly but surely I started trying them. The bread here is very fluffy and I encourage you to try the sweet filled ones! The mexican chocolate bread is one of my favorites as well as the egg custards. I have never tried their cheesecakes but they look so good! These may not be american sweets but they are still delicious and great to try!

I love shopping here for asian meals and food. They're bakery is to die for: Haven't been here in the longest and been going to different bakeries like 85. BUT when i went today, wow completely forgot why I used to eat here a lot. The bread is so good and it was a plus since I went early in the morning it was all fresh and warm. I tried the cheese bread with an unexpected surprise of hotdogs baked inside. I also had the sweet red bean roll with baked sesames on top. The outside of the bread had a nice caramelization and crunch with a soft sweet bread. Then we tried the egg tart which was buttery and flaky. It was better than the hyped up 85. Overall I love shopping here for asian food.

I like the concept of being able to get a tray and pick out the pastries that you want instead of relying on the person at the counter to pick out the not-so-pretty pastries first from the group. Yes, I admit, I judge a book by its cover. But I believe the inside also counts. :)I came here after 7pm on a Saturday and all of the pastries were BOGO! I didn't realize this because I was so into the huge assortment that I didn't see the sign posted in the very front. D'oh! Luckily, I eventually figured this out though.I got two of the blueberry cheese pastries and I thought these were just okay. The blueberry filling was amazing and everything I could have ever hoped for but there just wasn't enough. The bread to filling ratio was so off; it was like 92% bread and 8% filling. I would have been okay with this if the bread had been just a teensy bit sweeter. There wasn't a general flavor to it without the filling.Along with the blueberry pastry, I also bought four custard puddings (essentially flan) and a mini, individual portion cheesecake. The flan was really good but could have used just a little bit more of the caramel sauce. I could have eaten a hundred of those little buggers. The cheesecake was delicious, even after sitting in my fridge for three days! It was fluffy and decadent. I wish I had gotten the larger cheesecake instead. Oh well, there will always be a next time. Definitely!

I have been a huge fan of this bakery shop because of its creativity to make a great variety of delicious breads, both sweet and savory, and also because of the BOGO deals in the evening hours! *woots* Besides the breads, the mini angel food cakes rolled with pork sung (dry shredded pork) or red bean & cream are pretty delicious as well. Last but not least, the Napoleon is as good as it gets! Unlike the European Mille-feuille, this Asian style Napoleon does not have the fattening custard at all; it is composed of fluffy sponge cake slices layered with flaky puff pastries & light cream, which seems to have much less calories than the traditional Napoleon puff pastry dessert.

Super delicious Chinese breads & cakes. They are so sweet & nice - I came to get a Chinese fruit taro cake and asked if they could write happy birthday on it as well - they lady gave me birthday candles and a cake knife as well! Will definitely come back for breads & sweets.

I wish Desir Bakery could compete to the level of 85C bakery, right outside of 99 Ranch. The level of selection and customer service were not impressive to me. I visited Desir Bakery in January 2020. I was looking for pastry to share at work. When I asked about those daifuku (mochi) on the window posters, they acted like not their products. Oh ok. Why not just remove them? The breads were not attractive to me. It was difficult to get bread out of bread case. So, I got impatient. I went to 85C Bakery. I only come to 99 Ranch Market when I have longer lunch time from work. Now, I'm working from home. I have no desire to shop here.

After having a mouth-gasm with LA Crawfish My tastebuds were tingling for something sweet. Not a plain Ice-cream cone, brownie, or a cookie but something different so what better than something inside the Oriental 99 store so we stumbled across Desir bakery. I was in heaven! they had so many options of tasty delights, I kept debating on what to try until I made up my decision to try their Forest cake and Mango mousse cake. I cannot tell you which one I Liked because I loved them both! They were so light and tasty, AM I so looking forward to my next trip here!!

The recent changes are tragic. In the last few months, many items seem to have changed for the worse and gotten smaller without changing price. The breads are now poorly made and very inconsistent. The old workers must have left and been replaced by untrained amateurs.Would cautiously recommend for now.
