Daejanggum Korean Cuisine

Shopping at HMart leaves you craving Korean food (duh), especially if you're buying things around lunch time. I got two of my favorite Korean dishes:Mul naengmyon: it's quite refreshing. Deliciously chewy noodles, though you do need to swish it and break it apart in the broth a bit before you dig in, which means the ball of noodles were lying around before they dunked broth on it. No big deal, just that actual restaurants usually give it to you fairly fresher. The broth is also not as "beefy" as some restaurants, but it'll hit the spot if you're craving it. They also give you some thick slices of beef, but overall low on the protein, which is the norm for this dish. Soondae: I was a little thrown off when I didn't see any seasoned salt on the side, but overall it was okay. Not the best I've had, but it's garlicky and will still hit your soondae craving. Overall, I'd say it's okay. BUT it's in a food court, the food comes out fairly quickly, and the ahjummas are nice and efficient. Let's bump it up a star because I know I'm not at an actual sit down restaurant. Solid joint for being in a grocery store.

I got their number 29. Soondae soup on a busy Saturday around 1 pm. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out but was fine since I had to find a seat anyways. My entree came with 3 banchans and a standard portion bowl of rice. This was my first time trying soondae and although I liked the taste, the texture was a little disappointing as it was more noodles than blood or meat.Overall, I enjoyed the meal especially as the woman at the register was friendly but efficient at taking and dispensing orders. I would come again to try more from their menu.

I ordered their Ox tail soup, which was delicious, very comforting and the meat was extremely tender. I've ordered a Bibimbap from them before and it always comes with a good amount of food, which is really nice.

I got the japchae here. The wait was about 15 minutes (maybe that tells me it's fresh) during which I did some shopping at HMart. Plate comes with a good amount of japchae plus rice plus a little kimchi and broccoli. I think I spent under 12 dollars - which is really good for prices these days . And I could finish it so I got a takeout box and it ended up being two meals for me. Japchae itself was pretty standard/good? Def greasy as to be expected

Daijanggum Korean Cuisine is one of the vendor stalls in the Super H Mart Doraville food court. They sell delicious food, but, frankly, overall, it's overpriced when compared with nearby Korean restaurants which generally offer bigger portions, refills of their banchan, and better personal customer service.Service was inconsistent. We noticed that the table of able bodied customers who ordered before us had their trays of food delivered to them by one of the employees, but when our food was ready, the same employee yelled to us and pointed at our food at the counter, indicating that expected us to pick up our food. Inconsistent service, which I considered very discriminating and rude. Either deliver orders to all of your customers in the food court or don't deliver food to anyone. I also want to note that the employee tried to rush us to order, even though we had questions about their menu items and there weren't any customers waiting in line behind us.I ordered Yukgae Jang (spicy beef soup), and R ordered the Box Combo with Beef. After picking up our food from the counter, I noticed the perfect presentations of both meals. R got bulgogi, steamed white rice, orange slices, fried dumplings with a sauce, miso soup and 3 types of banchan: bean sprouts, broccoli and spicy cucumbers. He liked the flavor of the bulgogi, but definitely felt this meal was very overpriced. I got a hot boiling pot of spicy beef soup with glass noodles, egg (I think), onions and a few other types of vegetables in it, steamed white rice, and 3 types of banchan: bean sprouts, broccoli and kimchi. Oh, and the beef turned out to be a very scant amount of shredded beef. It didn't have any chunks of beef at all, just a small amount of threads of beef. Spicy soup, but the barely there beef was very disappointing.We don't expect to go back to this food vendor.

I love the my soup! Service is excellent! Would like to try other Korean dishes from here next time. Overall a great experience.

Way way way overpriced, small portions, and loaded with lots of sugar. They favor oriental people so if you are not oriental, they are super mean and rude to you. I suggest you go elsewhere. Your average meal which will not fill you up will cost you $20 plus. Mall style with dirty shaky unstable tables. Flies on tables.

Yukgaejang was excellent. I usually get this stew and the flavors here were on point. Definitely overpriced. I've seen Yukgaejang for the same price at a sit down restaurant in Duluth but hey there's inflation these days, so I guess fernbrake prices must be up too. Yukgaejang is a spicy beef stew that is cooked with fernbrake, an herb that is harvested in spring time in Korea. It is a little more grassy tasting soup that is bright and clean tasting compared to a sometimes heavier tofu jig gae for me. Highly recommend this broth is you are trying for a different type of Korean stew. Service was a little slow so definitely order ahead of time. Can't attest to other dishes that other people have ordered.

I have come here over 5 times and all times my food was great. I get the mandu and the bibimbap every time and it's delicious.
