Cheapest eats in Johnston County and SmithfieldGreat hot dogs, havent tried others yet but its a Smithfield institution2 hot dogs with slaw under $3.will go back for more...... locals love this place.....Only open til 430, so its breakfast or lunch, or early dinner takeout only,,MOST IMPORTANT,,,,,,,, THIS IS A CASH ONLY PLACE, NO DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED...........CASH ONLY!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up in Clayton, NC, Smithfield is close (also a historic high school rival) but a nearby small town that had more major stores and restaurants growing up. Cricket grill is a staple in the community and has been working from the bright yellow trailer for longer than I can remember! This is not the place to go for the sam's club style hot dog with relish - this is the south! Red hotdog with homemade chillin(NO BEANS!), ketchup, mustard, onions, coleslaw, fries, and a sweet tea (mix it with lemonade if you're feeling spicy!). For less than five dollars you'll walk away with two hot dogs, fries, and a drink that is perfect for your lunch break! Other amazing things on the menu are the egg rolls and chili burgers. But as for me the hot dogs - or glizzies as the kids say - call me every time !Now for those from out of town - the line and service can be intimidating! Take your time reviewing the menu and let the cashier know you are new and need a bit of help, because the line goes quick!

Man, this place is like eating at your mamas house. I had two hotdogs all the way. They were awesome. I also had a Dr. Pepper. All this came to about $4.50. The ladies are sassy and friendly. I would gladly move in with them and help them. They are fun people. This place is a simple trailer next to a parking lot on Main Street in Smithfield and they do it "like it used to be", which means basic, simple, and you leave feeling great. I love you guys!

First know it's cash only! Super fast and efficient as well as cheap cheap cheap!! Got hotdogs all the way, 1 cheese burger mustard chili and slaw, 2 egg rollsAnd one apple pie and 2 sweet teas.The hot dogs and burgers were messy. Served fast but very messy. Honestly. I didn't care for the chili. Maybe it would be better with other options/toppings. The real star of the show were the egg rolls. They are great and came hot out of the grease. The sweet tea was great and so was that fried apple pie. All of the above was $12.

This is the best fast food place ever. Don't allow the outside appearance to deter you. This place has everything- hotdogs, burgers, chicken wings, fries and their egg rolls were amazing. Not only do you get great food and great service but they have great prices. My family and I spent a total of about $30 and received 3 burgers, 3 hot dogs, 3 orders of egg rolls, 2orders of fries, some wings, 3 lemonades and 2 apple turnovers to sum it up. They only accept cash but the food, prices and service are worth giving it another visit. I can't help but to rave about this place.

Never say never.... the food is affordable it comes out quick and it's fresh.The egg rolls are homemade are delicious I had the chicken sandwich, it was moist and delicious.This is a get it and go restaurant, great for eating outside with the family.You have to give this place a try!

LOVE ME SOME CRICKETS!!!! I have been eating this SINCE A YOUNGIN & im 22 now and it still never fails!!! It may not have the best appearance HOWEVER that food man listen! Don't judge no book by its cover bc Crickets gonna come thru every time! Go get you a Hot dog combo burnt w/mck and it comes with fries and or tater tots and they lemonade/sweet tea is Bomb all for $3-$4 ! Yall gooo

Great hot dogs and very reasonable Hamburgers are ok, fries are goodTrying the pork chop next and hopefully as good as Bojangles CASH ONLY so don't pull out a credit or debit card you can't use it

Wow! Passing through Smithfield. I spotted this place and had to turn around to check it out. I love a hole in the wall. They are full of surprises! This one thanks to some quick research had me convinced to try the Egg Rolls! They didn't disappoint, they were off the charts! Can't. Wait to go back!

5/5 Pure Nostalgia Being born and raised in Smithfield this place is well known around town. The prices are unmatched, although the food isn't out of this world, every bite reminds me of my childhood.
