Cousins Maine Lobster - Raleigh

Updating my review because the company reached out and fixed the tip that I felt was unfairly applied:This is one of the best food trucks for lobster rolls around. I got the Connecticut lobster roll, which was delicious. It's on the smaller side for $22 but they give you a lot of lobster meat and I haven't really found cheaper lobster rolls around. We also got the lobster tots, which I would probably skip in the future. The lobster meat is good but I think you get more for your money with the rolls and the lobster tacos. We used the app to order, which was convenient since we didn't have to wait for food. Just be careful if you're using the app - a 15% tip is automatically applied and you have to remove it if you don't want it included in your total. I missed this the first time but customer service was great and helped me to get a refund.

This is a review for the food truck. So let me preface this review by saying I'm not a lobster roll expert. But the food truck was at the front of our neighborhood with a long line, and I easily get FOMO. Everything was GREAT! We got a Connecticut roll, clam chowder, kids grilled cheese with tots and a lobster quesadilla. I haven't tried the quesadilla so I can't speak on that. But everything else was so good! I typically don't like lobster rolls and this one was so good. My toddler actually ate the grilled cheese (and we're in the we-only-eat-white-rice-and-oatmeal stage). I actually am a little upset that he liked it, because I wanted to eat more of it . The service was crazy fast!Anyways... worth it.

I had a lobster roll and it was very good! It was a little pricey but well worth it. The person who took my order was well knowledgeable about the menu and she gave great suggestions. I ordered something she suggested and I'm glad that I took one of her suggestions because it was really good.

Been hearing about this place from friends for quite some time now. Finally found the truck to try it. Delish experience. We waited for the line to die down but honestly it didn't take too long. And once we paid, they were speedy. The cashier was super nice and friendly. The prices were a shock but I mean it is lobster soooooWe both got the cold roll and it was so good. They didn't add a lot of flavorings to it but I liked it that way. You could really taste the freshness of the lobster. I'd definitely try the grilled cheese or hot one next time. Or maybe the bisque? We also got an order of tots and they were pretty standard. Nothing super special. But a nice add on. For two rolls and tots were talking like $50. Overall it was a delightful splurge. Filling enough for a light lunch but I wouldn't get it often. Love a place with a good story though.

I would say it's a pretty good lobster roll. I won't lie it's pretty pricey but you get A LOT of lobster on this sandwich. Would order again.

Visited the truck at a pop up market at mystic distillery in Durham. Got the tots and the lobster bisque.Although there were 3 dudes in the truck and only 1 other person waiting, took them 20 minutes to get food out. Tots were fine - we got plain tots.The bisque was just ok. Bland with no pieces of meat other than one about the size of the mail on my pinky finger. I asked them about it and they said that was correct - the bisque only has reduced meat in it. They were polite. I think it coulda used more sherry/wine in it to give it that little bite you expect in - but that's a personal taste prob. I'm sure this is their recipe and that's fine. Just not what I expect for a $10, 8 oz "bowl". So, be aware .... Waits maybe longer than you expect and be advised about the bisque.

Not to exaggerate.... But this may be my favorite food of all time. Everytime I see an alert for cousins main lobster in my area I IMMEDIATELY drop everything to eat there for my next meal! The lobster bisque is my absolutely fav!

I've been dying to sample Cousins since they came to the area but something always gets in the way. Today I was driving in Greenville going about my weekly errands when I saw the Cousins truck in a local dealership parking lot but they were not yet open. By the time I finished my errands they were open and I stopped by for lunch. The service was great. The cashier was warm, friendly and efficiently took my order. Within 5 minutes my order was ready. I snapped a picture for my fellow yelpers, hit it with a spritz of fresh lemon juice and took a bite. It was perfection. The lobster was chilled but perfectly cooked. Not rubbery at all and extremely fresh. There was also plenty of it. The mayo and the freshly toasted split roll were the perfect compliments. Both were fresh and in the right quantity. Though the price was just under $25 with tip it was well worth it. I will definitely be back. I'm glad I finally got to experience a little slice of Maine in NC.

My son surprised me with a Lobster roll today, still warm from the truck! Best 'gift' I've had in awhile! Definitely made my day-made my week! Just what I needed! I have been craving one for several days & had been trying to locate the lobster food truck to find out where & when they were going to be in my area again. Now I have Cousins Maine Lobster' in my address book; I have them bookmarked everywhere I could bookmark/save & am following them. The lobster rolls are bit pricey compared to few years ago, but so is everything else. I Will definitely be getting again in near future!

Yeah one of their trucks came to Greensboro Sunday for the festival. It was a 3 hour wait time for my experience. Only to receive an order missing half the items. We ordered 3 Maine rolls, the lobster grilled cheese combos with 2 sides of chips and 2 sides of the tater tots. The grilled cheese and tater tots combo was missing. And the order total was over $100. Got our drinks but after all that effort, I just went and got pizza and a snack from the grocery instead. It was infuriating to put it easy. After being touched on and rubbed against in that festival, I'll never trust this little business ever again. It's honestly baffling how they charge a premium for the sides as well with how microscopic the portion size of the lobster rolls are. Here's a hint: just buy yourself some pizza at the store or better yet like 5 full size subs and you'll be well-fed and a happy customer. If you pay for a service, you get the food and your moneys worth. Not here though. To be fair, the guy in the truck had great listening ears but their delivery was quite obviously lacking. We ordered 2 chips and 2 sides but they just crammed all the tater tots in one little basket. No chips. What a joke. Even if all my food had been delivered as promised at the festival, probably 2.5 stars at best if I'm being generous.
