"This is about the best you will get while in "Rio", every and I mean every restaurant especially the chain restaurants are horrible. How can you mess up at Pizza Hut! Anyhoo, Casa was great, everyone in my party ordered steak. Not too bad for a Mexican restaurant. It was well cooked sides were accompanying and flavorful and most of all the service made you feel welcomed and not rushed. Our waitress was engaging and made sure we were filled on drinks and asked if we needed anything. Presentation a little off but for the area great turn out and taste buds satisfied. Great food and service in a small town."

"Was passing through Gonzales and decided to stop for bbq. Arrived about 230p and place was empty, must have just missed the lunch rush. The bbq smell when walking in was mesmerizing. Staff greeted us as we walked in. I got the 2 meat plate with brisket and pork loin with 2 sides of potato salad and green beans. Brisket was cooked perfectly, fork tender and juicy. Pork loin was just okay, as were green beans. Potato salad was creamy with a great mayo and dill pickle flavor. When in area will definitely stop again and try the sausage and ribs."

Upon entering, I noticed that the restaurant was very clean. The meals and reasonably priced and they have a bar with some good selection of adult beverages. Customer service was superb! Thank you! The potato salad is the best potato salad that I've ever eaten at a restaurant! I was not expecting it to be so good. It actually tasted like my family made it. Lol. The peach cobbler was very good. The brisket was cooked to perfection and tasted really good. Everything was good except the baked potato and this is the reason for 4/5 stars. Nonetheless, I will dine here when I'm in town again."

The concept is literally like in he name, walk up to he house, order from a window, sir in their backyard and wait for your delicious food to be ready. You can tell food is cooked to order. Took just a few minutes, but again, DELISH! I did come on a 99 degree day, but with the shade, it was bearable, (I mean, I'm a Texas boy born and raised, I'm used to the heat). "Not exactly SA, but about 30 minutes south on 35...Charlie's Daughter on the Green at the golf course in Devine TX. Casual cafe. You feel welcomed as you enter. I had an outstanding biscuit with sausage gravy. The biscuit was light fluffy and at least 2 1/2 inches high!.My honey had a scramble of eggs, bacon and hasbrown with a grilled biscuit. Yummy food! Hometown favorite based on all the regulars we saw eating. Service fast and very personable. Well worth the drive to Devine. Not convinced yet, try their all you can eat catfish every Friday night."

Depending on how busy it is you may seat yourself or wait to be seated. The staff is great! They are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.My party was served by Jeremiah. He was knowledgeable about the drink and dinner menus. I went with a his drink and food recommendations. I started off with a margarita on the rocks. For dinner I had a salad to start and then I devoured the local stuffed drum with rice and veggies that he recommended. The crab mixture the drum was stuffed with was okay but the drum was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The veggies were a carrot, squash and zucchini medley cooked with the right amount if garlic.For dessert we all shared a bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Chef's kiss! I highly recommend this establishment. I would rate this in my top three restaurants to patron in CCTX for seafood!"

"I spent a week in Lockhart and checked out Lockhart Steak and Seafood for lunch. This spacious restaurant, if the name doesn't give it away, has a large menu with a lot of seafood offerings. They have a large parking lot so parking won't be an issue. It's a casual restaurant with a lot of booths. Service was friendly. I went with the stuffed crab which comes with your choice of two sides. I chose corn on the cob and fries. Our waitress asked which sauce I wanted with my crab and I went with all of the above so she brought me a sweet sauce I didn't like very much and your typical tartar sauce. Crab is one of my favorite types of seafood and the stuffed crab didn't disappoint. You get three of these bad boys. Served in a hard shell and an edible crust, scoop out the good stuff. While the fries were good, it was a small portion for fries and the corn on the cob was a small portion as well. Not a generous portion when it comes to the sides. I also got a chicken fried steak sandwich with fries with white gravy to-go. All-in-all, a decent meal where you have a lot to choose from, especially when it comes to seafood."
