"Headed back home from Corpus Christi and looking for a quick lunch and a restaurant we haven't tried. Searched trusty Yelp for a recommendation and this place in old Edna popped up. Sounded good so we made the loop around to find it and I am really glad we did. The restaurant is very unassuming as a converted old filling station (almost expected to meet someone named Goober here..) it was a blessing that there were no fan belts or hoses on the walls or tires laying around just an adapted front drive through and demure entrance door. The inside is very basic small town tables and chairs with an old menu block letter sign and plastic wrapped specials list on the counter. Divey! I loved it. A nice lady took our order (two cheese burger baskets with fries) and the food came out pretty quickly. I was surprised how large and beautiful the burgers were presented. Large home style buns with a fat patty of excellent quality, lettuce, tomato and onion all fresh. The burgers were wrapped in paper like days gone by and the first bite sent me back to the days of my youth when people went out of their way in crafting good burgers. They have the taste of early Americana busting of juicy flavor. They really need to be wrapped in paper as they are just that juicy! The crinkle fries were cooked perfectly crunchy without being dry. The catchup was brought out from a cooler cold..(love the health and safety mindset) and alas my burger was gone before I realized I hadn't taken a picture! Sorry about that! I set my empty basket down and pulled more tip money out of my wallet to add to my previous tip when we paid at the counter. This was the best burger I've had really in decades. Not dripping in avocado-mango-salsa or blackened or covered in bacon or whatever, just an honest old school home run of a basic cheese burger. Love it ... or face the fact that everyone with any sense will know you don't know what a burger is supposed to taste like!!! Burger lady.. I will be back!! Next time to sample the awesome chili you told me about too!"

"My husband and son could literally eat a burger on the daily-so we drove downtown- parking wasn't bad at all and as far as safety, I didn't feel the least bit unsafe especially during the day. This is counter service- order and they will bring it to your table.I ordered a regular cheeseburger and my boys ordered the heisman. The buns were soft and slightly sweet but the star of the show was the meat patty- full of flavor and just, well, tasty.Do yourself a favor if you are a burger fan and check this place out!"

"Came for a day trip to the beach and brought along our dogs. We were anxious to find a restaurant that accepted animals. Dotz is one of those places. We were able to sit outside on their patio with our dogs and enjoy a good hot dog. The food experience isn't something to get excited about, but we were really happy they were accommodating to us since we brought our pets. The atmosphere is fun and the hot dogs are good. Great place to come if you have a large family!"

The multiple appetizers we ordered were soaked and soggy with grease, making them hard to enjoy. "Shhhh... don't tell anyone, but one of my (many) guilty pleasures is some Wienerschnitzel, especially for late night food after some late night fun. I sometimes skip checking in here because hey, let's face it, you don't always want your die hard foodie friends to know that you're sneaking around, stuffing your face full of delectable Wieners, chili slathered all over your face, instead of wining & dining at some fancy, Michelin Star restaurant. If I could, I would slather their yummy chili on everything. I've contemplated working here for a week to learn their chili recipe, just to make it at home. "Man, how go you rate a fast food joint? I'm going with best in overall fast food categories IMHO - the reasons why we go to for fast food guilty pleasures instead of gourmet. For that, this location gets 5 stars. Reasons (in no particular order):1. Speed. Some of the fastest food deliver from order to drive away that still maintains quality (taste, temperature, integrity of product). 2. Variety. Multiple versions of hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, fries. Even has a fish and a chicken offering and soft serve Tasty Freeze. 3. Price. You can feed a family on the cheap, and they always are running different specials. 4. Service. I have never seen a bunch of people working in fast food like those at this location who are happier to do their job. Very nice change. 5. Consistency. I can always depend on my order being right and never missing anything at this location. And it ways tastes the same. This is a big deal to me. When I have a fast food craving, I want it to taste a specific way. It always tastes as advertised. That's hard to find in this town. 6. Taste / quality. It is what it is. But it's the best of its class. Always on point, always hot and freshly made from frozen / processed ingredients. ;-) seriously though, it's so flavorful. If you are jonesing for comfort food that you've eaten since childhood, you can find it right here.7. Chili. That says it all. Any and all fast food from any chain would benefit from a ladle of this. Except maybe seafood. Lol. It must be magic. I crave it like food crack sometimes. CON: and it's a big one, but inherent so no deductions for it - salt. So all fast food, frozen food, and just about all prepared and even elegant dining fare has too much salt now. But the regular hot dogs are just crazy salty now. Add chili and cheese and its over the top for me these days. So I compromise by ordering the angus version whenever I can. They taste less salty (but cost more). I just make sure they use the melted cheese instead of the grated cheese that comes with it. FAVS:Angus: chili cheese dogs, Chicago dogs (but not authentic!). Polish sandwich with kraut, corn dogs, and loaded chili cheese fries (not on menu this way - you have to add toppings individually: onions, tomatoes, etc). Oh so bad for you but oh so delish. Once a month or less won't kill ya."
