"Tavern on Castell just opened in the last two weeks or so. I've been excited to try it.I was pleased to see that the menu is reasonably priced, and I felt the food I was served was on point for the price. The inside of the Tavern is so inviting to make yourself feel comfortable and enjoy yourself. The food was delicious and I look forward to returning to try additional items."
"We attended a send off for bride and groom! This place was nice to chill. We otdered Casa Azup shots. The food was ok."
"This bar used to be one of my favorites. But unfortunately service isn't what it used to be. Understandable when staff turnover rate is high. The care, attentiveness, and top tier service just isn't there anymore."
"Great place to eat. We shared a Railroad burger, a small order of onion rings and a small avocado salad at lunch. Food was delicious and the service was quick, friendly and accurate. Family atmosphere. Many food selections are available and there is a bar. Locals keep the place hopping with after the game, family and church gatherings. If you live in Corpus Christi it is an excellent opportunity for a quick "road trip". Enjoy"
"for years whenever i go to harlingen to see my grandma we always eat here.the food is amazing.they have clean bathrooms, quick wait times and a cool fish tank.love this place"
"2/14/2025, found this place through Facebook on their valentine's day special. We booked online which was very easy. The place when we first walk in I was kind of nervous due to the look of a sports bar theme. Then, our waiter came over and I asked him about the wine. He did tell me that he did not know much about the wine. He did go and look at the wine and told me it was Italian wine. I ordered a bottle. We looked at the special menu and I chose the lobster dumplings, and my boyfriend got the summer roll. I can say the summer rolls were great but the lobster ravioli looked good too and you can tell it was made from scratch, but you can tell they used frozen lobsters instead of fresh. The salads that came out were delicious. Next is the main course. We had the 48 oz steak. I am a person no matter what kind of steak it is I want Heinz 57 sauce, I have always been this way. I tried the steak with the cowboy butter and it was great. Perfectly cooked. I can say our waiter Tanner was a great waiter and was on top of everything. But the floor manager came over and you could tell he was drunk and left a bad impression about how management staff runs the restaurant. I was recommended that Tanner became the manager. He was good with the other wait staff and customers. Fired the floor manager!"
"The food taste great and the service was excellent. The ambience is also very electrifying."
"I'm so glad this place is able to open and operate despite our current situation! This is a quaint and favorite go to spot for a craft cocktail. I am a fan of St. Germain and Prosecco cocktails so the bartender made me a delicious drink to my liking. This place is aesthetically pleasing and the view of the downtown skyline is nice. As far as food goes, they serve small dishes of charcuterie like items. I've gotten the chicken salad twice and it is very tasteful. They are pre packaged and refrigerated. This makes the crackers soggy, but I still enjoyed it. Another plus: an outdoor container bar was added, a separate bathroom for men; and no more loose gravel!! They have turf now so feel free to wear you're favorite heeled shoe hehe"
"What a pleasant local gem. Easily walked to from our hotel, this lounge + steakhouse provided memorably excellent cocktails (Manhattan ($12), Vesper ($19.50), even a Grasshopper) and a riff on a shrimp cocktail that was likely Mexican and simply fresh and fantastic. The inhouse baked bread impressed: warm, fluffy, and delicious, as did the boneless ribeye, which was tender and perfectly cooked. And the scallops! Garlic, buttery, a bit of bread crumb crunch. Five stars on food and drinks. Our server was a touch brusque and transactional but friendly enough. We leaned into it and had a lovely evening. We would absolutely go back and take friends with us. The cocktails from the adjacent martini bar were exceptional , well blended and balanced. Their barkeep knows exactly what they are doing! The lighting was dim but still a nicely casual atmosphere. Go as fancy or as postbeach as you like (in something more than swimwear -- did that need saying? Sadly, yes)."
"The food was amazing and it was the best Nachos I've ever had in my life. The service was very good the employees were very nice and friendly to us. But I didn't expect the bathroom to be so colorful but it's beautiful."
"Having eaten at the location in Laredo a few times, I was eager to eat at this spot during May 2024. This establishment is located inside the Las Palmas shopping mall. We sat at the bar and had some excellent service. We started with their chips, salsas, and dip. The standard setup is some smoky red salsa along with a bean dip - the beans have somewhat of a chorizo flavor to them and are absolutely delicious. I recommend asking for their avocado salsa to have, as well. That magic green sauce, though. I had my usual order of Enchiladas Callejeras, which were amazing as always. They enchiladas are stuffed well with Mexican cheese, and heavily topped with the same. It gets a little loud in here as the place fills up with mall shoppers and kids, but it still would be nice enough for a date night. It is a bit more elegant inside than most mall restaurants. Definitely it is a great place to check out when in the area."
"My new fave! I've visited this place on several occasions and it never disappoints. Paige is usually our server and she's fantastic. Some of the same specialty drinks as Whiskey Palm, which is also amazing, Highly recommend both places when in Rockport. The menu is limited and hours can vary, so double check before you head over. It's worth it for the views and the food. I recommend the shrimp (some of the best tasting in the area), the fresh oysters (when in season), the large calamari, the wedge salad and the key lime pie. All delicious! And the views are the best in the area. We once watched dolphins playing. Now I'm dreaming about those views, fresh air blowing and sitting in the swings with a cool drink in my hand listening to the music...When family visits, bring them here. They are always on point."

Shrimp, Shrimp and More Shrimp!!! I had the pleasure of visiting the original Railroad Seafood Station during a visit to the Corpus Cristi area earlier this year. I was visiting friends at the new SDI Construction site just down the highway and I was invited to go for lunch with them. They asked me if I liked shrimp and of course, I said yes!!! When we got there I noticed the restaurant had a country-style feel to it, with post and beam decor and wooden tables and chairs. I watched as servers brought out massive platters of shrimp done in many ways. Once we were seated I let the gang order and we decided on a couple of family-sized salads, a large serving of jumbo onion rings and three platters of shrimp. The platters we ordered were Blackened, Coconut and Fried Shrimp. Not one of them disappointed us. Every piece of shrimp on every platter was fresh, plump and juicy. The blackened shrimp had a nice kick to them without having to need 3 gallons of water to be able to eat them. Spiced just right, they had a good and even level of spice which made them very easy to eat. The hand-battered coconut shrimp were very appetizing as well. Cooked to a golden colour and crispy with freshly grated pieces of coconut these shrimp very amazing. I was very surprised when I tried the fried shrimp as they were lightly coated and not greasy in any way, crunchy yes, greasy no, these were very well prepared shrimp. The food was very good, the service was great and we got our food fairly quickly so that lunch didn't take forever. I do recommend this place, and my only regret was that I wasn't able to try some other dishes and beers from the brewery.

WOWZIES... Whenever I come to a coastal place, I want to indulge in wonderful seafood. This place completely hit the spot, for a party of two. One seafood fan and one not. Good variety on the menu, and everything tasted so delicious. And our server was so pleasant and sweet, gave lots of good advice on good food. Highly suggest everybody to order the elote day French fries, and the tuna poke nachos, and to be honest everything we had.

Small little outdoor bar with great bartenders. Ambiance is nice with the quietness of downtown and good weather. Picnic tables for seating.

"Amanda A nailed the review. It is truly one of the best restaurants I've eaten at and is my favorite throughout the valley. It's just stupid good...no other way to put it. Every bite was amazing...creatively delicious. Well done and I truly hope to get back there.."
"This place has the best hamburgers made around here. And, all the bartenders and awesome and friendly. And, they usually work their asses off taking care of everyone."
"Located in an old western mainstreet, The Wine Bar and The Grande Hotel are beautiful. We enjoyed the AYCE Sunday Brunch. Olivia delivered exceptional service. The food was delicious with ample portions made to order. We even tired upstairs to view a spectacular guestroom. Would love to return and stay here."
"Sooo, yummy!!! This place is amazing. Very cute and stylish restaurant. The food was flavorful and not typical Mexican food. It will be on my rotation of places to go."
"Ok, this was the wife and my first trip here and they didn't disappoint! Outlaw chicken salad was good, gunslinger burger was excellent, and the boudain egg rolls we started with were a first for us! Food and service were excellent!"
"My family of seven went and immensely enjoyed everything we ordered. We all enjoyed the shared empanadas. I enjoyed the stuffed jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon. We highly recommend this restaurant and will try to make it back when we're back in the area."
"Settled in the Canyon Lake area, this little spot doesn't appear to be much if you're just passing by but looks are deceiving. When you come in it has a divey feel with a bit of down home mixed in.They have live music a lot of nights and it becomes over 21 after 9pm. We decided to pop in here with our group after a long pool day for some drinks and grub.We had some of the chicken strips, a burger, pulled pork sandwich and some brisket tacos. All was devoured without a word. If no one is talking, the food must be good! The patio has some games that the kids played while the adults had a few beverages while winding down. The wait staff was attentive and very friendly. I recommend a stop if you're in the area."
"Great little place to grab a drink, tacos, and "beer food." They have specialty items like duck and fig quesadillas, boudin tacos, and escargot, but also the regular stuff like bistec, pork, chicken, and brisket. They also offer a good variety of beer ($4-5) and mixed drinks ($7-8), as well as dessert such as fresh made churros (with caramel dip) and the "chaco taco," a fried chocolate taco shell with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The churros were pretty descent fresh, but the chaco taco was just ok (more for the novelty). The food is descent (portions are a bit small), and drinks are pretty good. If you're in the area and looking for a place open a little later than other places around town, this is a cool, casual, divey place to go."
"Went for drinks with friends on a Saturday night. Toloa has a beautiful bar ambiance. The crowd picked up around 10:30-11.A few things:- I was on a waitlist for a table in case there were cancellations or no shows. There were at least 3 tables open at 11pm so I asked the host how the waitlist was looking and if I could have a table. We were seated with no problem after asking. Reservation highly encouraged.-Food was good but the 12am taco options were great!-After trying a few cocktails, we opted for bottle service. **Mixers were charged separately (ex. Bottles of water, can of soda).-Lots of reviews commenting on wait time, but it's a new place so it wasn't an issue for me given the craftiness of the cocktails."
"We came here to Celebrate my Grandmother's Birthday Party and we had an amazing Time.Food here for this Place was very Delicious and the Area of the restaurant is Great.Giving 5-Stars for Excellent Service"
"February 2019 - Mustang Cantina has a decent menu, good cooks, and fine beverages. Service is not good though; it presently lacks a wait staff and a manager who are able to do a minimally acceptable job. Expect chaos and having to be assertive when you walk into this place. When i was there, there were empty tables; it did not appear to be overly busy. There was a table of about 8 in the area near the bar that were finishing up, they were getting a little service. There did not appear to be any waiters working, unbelievably, and it mystifies me why the restaurant cannot simply hire 2 or 3 people to wait tables? I will avoid this place in the future. The overworked bartender mixed drinks, waited tables and bussed half the tables in the joint. The bartender was so busy trying to perform all the jobs that niceties were out of the question. Also, it seemed that she had not received proper training in how to wait tables. Doing her best under impossible circumstances, she joylessly delivered the mixed beverages expeditiously. After we walked in at 7:35 pm on Saturday night, we sat ourselves, mindful of the "Please Seat Yourself" sign. We were not greeted, and felt like we had arrived to a party where we were not welcome. We noticed that a busboy was painstakingly & diligently clearing and wiping one of the 2 free tables in the front room. We were asked at some point by a bartender if we wanted a drink. Since we had no drink list or menu, i ordered a cocktail from my head. After my drink was brought out, my companion who had wanted a drink also, but was not high- spirited enough to invent one in his head and shout it over to the overly occupied bartender, decided to walk across the room and spirit away a drink menu for us to ponder. Natually, we were not brought a food menu in line with the theme of the evening to make us feel like we were an imposition. After our round of cocktails arrived at around 8 pm, I waited awhile to give the bartender a little break from having to pay attention to us. No music was playing, which i thought was more reminiscent of a Lubys or Cracker Barrel or school cafeteria than a stylish, classy establishment. I finally broke down to inquire with the bartender who was rushing around rather frantically whether we could possibly order food. The bartender took our surprise announcement within stride & dutifully presented us with dinner menus. Victory! She returned to take our food orders. The club soda and glass of water that i asked for before did not make it to the table although my dinner partner got his water. A pleasant, smiling woman wearing a hairnet, who sprung from the bowels of the restaurant, brought us a fantastic plate of waffle fries topped with melted cheese, tasty pickles, jalapeno peppers, etc. Suddenly, some very nice music started playing ( Pearl Jam ). We licked the plate clean. Blue Hawaiian and martini were artfully crafted by our bartender. Our entrees came out speedily and fully met our expectations. My water never arrived and dessert was never offered."
"Camping at the State Park? Venados makes it easy! We arrived with enough food to last a week of our two week vacation but there was no need. We could have eaten at Venados every day and not packed a thing. The restaurant is on the highway, a lovely beach walk from our camp. We were here to walk on the beach so getting there was a pleasure. But if you had to drive, you'd probably pull into their parking lot in under 5 minutes. Great Happy Hour! Beers for $3! And the food is sensational - much better than we expected because the prices are so fair. The quality of the food is what you'd expect at an upscale Mexican restaurant and the portions are generous. From the warm salsa and chips to the hand-made guacamole and the extraordinary and delicious Boudin Enchiladas (a chef speciality you can only try at Venados, The Official Home Of The Boudin Enchilada!).We always dined with our dog on the outdoor patio, but we went inside to wash up. There were never smudges on the doors and windows, the bathrooms were always spotless - the toilets and basins freshly scrubbed - and the table condiments had no fingerprints or residue from the previous customer. All signs of cleaning being constantly in progress. Finally, the servers were always cheerful, knowledgable and respectful - they made us feel welcome. Venados employees also host community events which patrons are invited to attend. With Venados the State Park feels like an RV resort."
"Great portions, really good food. I had the chicken sandwich and it was HUGH! Spicey but not burn your tastebuds, fresh, hot, great breading, and was much better than I expected from the location. It's in a strip mall... my daughter got the shrimp tacos and she said the flavors were great and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Would definitely go again!Oh and the fries were spot on!"
"Went here a few weeks ago. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Nice crowd, and a great view!"
"We decided to come in for a late dinner our last evening in town. We said we weren't hungry but then the menu changed our minds! On a Thursday night this place was playing club music and it was definitely an interesting playlist for a casual seafood dinner spot. That said the food was very good and the starter soup that came in the Mason jar was delicious! The shrimp salad I ordered was generous in size and exactly what I needed for a late night dinner. We ended up eating way more than we should have, but it was all very good. Next time I'd like to come for lunch and see what the atmosphere is like in the light of day."
"One of the hottest spots in Bay City for live music, drinks and dancing! If your problem is that you don't have any room, this place is HUGE and caters to everyone from cowboys to city folk. Come back ONLY if your ready for a good time!"
"Such a fan of Seersucker Southern Style gin! If you don't like gin, you will like Seersucker Gin! Trust me. It is an adorable place to hang out any day of the week! The grounds are beautiful, ample amount of parking. There are rocking chairs on the covered porch, picnic tables, plush chairs and ottomons, bean bag toss and bocce ball set up outside with fans. There are a few tables inside the tasting room, along with the bar, restrooms, merchandise for sale and the distillery. The tasting room is right in the middle of the distillery, so you see all the working parts that go into making the gin and Cinco vodka. They offer free tours on Saturday's at 3 PM, and request that you RSVP on their website. Trey, the owner, was the one who gave the tour. He is a fun and interactive guy, so you definitely will not be bored. We were able to taste their Cinco Vodka, Gin, Lemon Flavored Gin and Limeaide Gin. Then we each purchased a cocktail to take on the tour with us. Fun fact - Seersucker was the first gin to be made with real fruit juice, not just flavored. They also have trademarked the "Southern Style Gin." Who knew this little hidden gem was in San Antonio! Seersucker is pet friendly, as long as your pet is leashed. They also pop fresh popcorn daily."
"Small cocktail bar just off the square in LaGrange. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, good selection of liquors and beer (and a few wines). Their specialty is the Old Fashion. Nice place to hang out, have a drink or two and meet some new people."
"Great cucumber, martinis, old-fashioned & amaretto sours! It's dim and cozy not loud either. Love the vibe."
"Great service , amazing food. Aguachilles were my favorite. Would recommend and definitely will be back."
"Wife and I visited this establishment Sunday afternoon on April 7th 2024 nice and cozy establishment superb food really nice drinks friendly staff cleanliness with superb would highly recommend this establishment for family and or business Gathering and Anthony the bartender is very crafty mix and drinks ordered Mexican martinis absolutely delicious food was served hot in a very timely manner and exquisitely delicious"
"The salsas and sauces are original and delicious! Huge portion (enough for two more meals.) Nice environment with friendly servers."
"I had a business meeting in the area, so I decided to check out a new restaurant. (New to me.) I found this restaurant tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, surrounded by a few other restaurants. I tried to compare how many people were at this restaurant vs. the others. It was hard to tell.. when I walked in, it looks a bit like a pub. Small, dark, wine on every wall, and just enough space around each table that you could easily have a wheel chair or stroller roll through. There were two waiters and a bartender managing the front. My waiter was also accepting wine deliveries, so another waitress stepped in to help. I never had to wait long to have someone stop by or look over to see if I needed anything. If you've ever seen the tv show Cheers you'll get an idea of the ambiance and service. The burger was great! Al Green is playing on the speaker as I type this. I have a new spot for a date night when I feel like driving off the island."
