Corner Grill

Another day on the road, left Rocky Mount in the AM and got on 301 south. This is the best stretch of road of my road-trip, staying off I-95 and the construction happening. I recommend it to anyone that wants a peaceful drive through NC.I was wanting to stop at this old country store like the last time I took this route, but when I arrived, they are closed on Wednesday. And there was really no other place to stop and eat. Continue on 301 south till the next small town.Stopped at the next small town and saw a corner deli I thought I would try but they wouldn't be open for another twenty minutes. Dang, onward again and glad I did.Driving down 301 again I had to do a turn-a-bout after seeing the burger shack. It is connected to a mini-mart but I not fear.As I walked in and made it thru the foyer and into the counter area I could see this was another bona fide burger joint. Neil was happy the deli was closed.I ordered the cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and onion and fries, crinkle cut. The burger came out with the lettuce and tomato on the bottom to keep the bun fresh and the onion on top. They know what they are doing. Your not getting this at the big three burger chains.Not sure what else I can say but I believe I have been blessed by the roadside food shack gods on this road-trip. The hamburgers are AWESOME!! Juicy and thick with grease coming through the paper wrap on to the bag. Once you go, Corner Grill will be your go to!!

We went out of our way to get to this hole in the wall restaurant. The information on the internet indicated it was open until 8; it actually closed at 2:00 pm. (despite the "open" sign in the window. Also, be aware they only take cash. Unfortunately, I can't report on the quality of the food because I arrived 4-1/2 hours after it closed.

As a guy that LOVES burgers, this place definitely cuts the mustard. Small family business, cozy setting and good food.Get your burger "all the way". You'll be pleased.

I was at an event and had time for a lunch break. So I did the "restaurants near me" search on Google. I am pleased I did. I walked in and had to turn right around and walk out. After seeing the cash only sign. So, do please take note, this is a cash only business. The gas station next to it had a working ATM thankfully so I was able to pull cash. There are a few tables as you walk in along with a long lunch counter with stools. I sat down at the counter and ordered a basic cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato added. I'm pretty sure my burger was hand formed. It came to me on a wax paper plate, I like the diner-yness of that. It was hot off the griddle, juicy, and down home tasty. I enjoyed it so much I went home and told my family about it and plan to bring them back. Of interest to us is trying out the breakfast sandwiches. So, umm long story short - stop by and grab a burger.

The little corner grill in Eastover NC has been my favorite place to get a great homemade meal for years. Especially their chili cheese burgers all the way with a side of fries. Sweet ladies that work there are down home friendly. You might want to call your order in a few minutes before you arrive, because they have a booming business there. Places like this are far and few between. Nothing fancy, just some old fashioned comfort food. You will not regret it if you have to wait a bit.Don't forget to drop a couple of dollars in the pickle jar.

Excellent customer service and excellent small town grill food. Cash only which is perfectly fine too.

I don't know if they are still open, but I would drive the twenty or so miles from time to time to get dinner from there. It's the only place other than home that I would even think of eating the meatloaf. I enjoyed the food here every time I ate here even when I would get the specials, although the onion rings were fabulous!!!!

This is the local hotspot of Eastover. Breakfast and lunchtime, servings. They're almost always packed, so if you're in a rush call ahead or be prepared to wait for some home cooked food(waited 30 Mins). Patty's rolled fresh in the shop, and you can watch your food being prepared. I ordered a patty melt (grilled cheese with meat). 10/10
