I came here with a group of friends for the Jerk X Jollof event that ruled through Chicago this past weekend (you had to purchase tickets), and we had a great time! The line to get in was a bit long (however covered since it was raining which was nice). The venue is located upstairs so we waited along since a long set of stairs with everyone else. The security here wasn't rude or anything which was a good sign from off the bat, and once we got inside we had a lot of space to roam around towards the back when we wanted drinks or whatever which made it easy to not stress about needing to be at the very front of the dancing floor space. Drinks weren't outrageously expensive which was nice, and we genuinely had a good time here! We saw Chance the Rapper make an appearance in the crowd and he was standing right by us which was super cool! Overall - nice space, and I know they always have events here and apparently food(?). I didn't see food, but I see reviews mentioning food. Anyways, would recommend.

Certainly, here's a more condensed 5-star review for Promontory in Chicago:I'm truly saddened to hear about Promontory's recent closure. This place was a true Chicago gem. The food was consistently excellent, offering a diverse menu that pleased every palate. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it perfect for intimate dinners or fun nights out with friends. The live music added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evenings, and the staff were always friendly and attentive. Promontory will be greatly missed, but I'll forever cherish the wonderful memories I made there. It was a cornerstone of Chicago's dining and entertainment scene.

We came here for El Oso the pop up restaurant through December. They have a semi-convenient set up where one can dine outdoors but there's no actual SERVICE outside. You order for carry out and sit on a first come first serve basis. They provide plastic ware or glasses of water. To go beer was also available. They did not enforce social distancing outside, it seemed customers were responsible for measuring 6 feet, and the pictures I took don't show that too well. We ordered Enmoladas and Tetelas with crab (purple corn rollovers kind of) and of course chips and guac. An offbrand Mexican beer(CASAHUMILDE TEMPESTAD) a saison, was pretty good. All food was really good (if a little smallish in portion for the price) but I would almost rather have done carryout. It was unseasonably warm for late Oct so we felt we HAD to eat outside. Once we found a table it was fine, and they were quick to clean the table AFTER we asked.
