I came into Aster hall looking for something sweet, and just my luck there was a CHOCOLATE BAR. I love me some sweets, so it's hard to disappoint me when it comes to sugar. After perusing all the of the lovely looking items, I decided to go with an almond croissant. This was a mistake. I took one bite of the croissant, and it was ROCK.SOLID. Like, not crunchy on the outside, pillow-y on the inside. The entire thing was a crouton. I don't know if this batch was just waaay over cooked, or if it had just been sitting out for that long that it was stale beyond belief. All I do know though, is that was hands down the WORST croissant I've ever had in my life. And I've eaten convenient store croissants. I'm giving 2 stars because all the treats look visually appealing, and maybe other items aren't as terrible as the croissant. But for me, it was a complete and utter waste of money.

We made a special trip here for something sweet. The pictures on yelp looked amazing. I was a little disappointed in the selection, but that may have been because it was a Sunday. I'm guessing this place, which is in the food court, Astor Hall, does a better business during the week.We tried the chocolate cake which was topped with gold and coconut macaroons dipped in chocolate. The macaroons were out of this world. The cake was very good, as well, but definitely get the macaroons.

Stopped by Aster Hall for a late lunch and saw the chocolate bar. Cute. Being a baker this was right up my alley. I thought things were a tad pricey but bought a chocolate cupcake anyway. It looked decadent and the cake was moist, actually a pretty good cupcake. Definitely made with a dark chocolate, which isn't my fav, but a good cupcake none the less. They have the most massive rice krispie treats that I have ever seen.

Came in looking for something sweet, and boy did everything here look good! It's not a large selection, but it's pretty varied. One or two each of cupcakes, cookies, macaroons, and the like. The item they have the most of is actually....chocolate bars. Makes sense, considering the name.I ended up getting a slice of bundt cake, one because of the barista's recommendations (he swore it was the moistest item they had) and because it was an interesting flavor - olive oil and citrus. It was indeed moist, but I didn't really pick up on the flavors. However, it was something not that of a normal cake (I blame the olive oil) and was quite tasty. Sweet, but not overly so, and as such I think would go great with a port or coffee. Alas, I had neither. Would I go back? Yeah. But not frequently, $4 is a might steep for a lunch dessert, but it would be a good occasional treat.

I wandered into Aster Hall recently and my eyes immediately we're caught by the chocolate bar. I was so overwhelmed by choices. Todd saw that I was struggling and really gave me the best recommendations. He was very knowledgeable on all treats. The cookies are to die for delicious. I can't wait to come back and try even more of what this bar has to offer. Very impressed.

The selection was small and the paper sleeve that our cookie was in, was just stamped with their blue logo as pictured and got on everything as the ink was still wet! They only take credit.

Really nice desserts and pastry. It is usually not crowded and there's enough space for everyone. It is on the top floor, so you would definitely enjoy this place.

The Chocolate Bar is part of Aster Hall, a food dining hall located at the 900 North Michigan Shops! Located in between the Vaults on Level 5, this bakery case is filled with dipped macaroons, croissants, scones, tarts, and cookies! After grabbing some eats from the Vaults, make room for dessert! My friend and I ordered and paid for the following: the Key Lime Mousse (light, delicate, and creamy, and had a wonderful tangy key lime taste!), the Pecan Tart (generously filled with pecans, and even topped with a couple of whole candied pecans; this had a rich cocoa-y and chocolate-y taste to it; even the crust was tasty!), and a Lemon Tart (a crumbly graham cracker crust, the lemon curd filling was so yummy!).The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and they really keep the line moving! Just note that The Chocolate Bar is not included in the touchscreen kiosk menu, and you have to order and pay up at the bakery case.I can't wait to return and try out their other desserts, such as the croissants and the chocolate eclairs!+located on Level 5+in between the Vaults+friendly staff!+garage parking at 900 N Michigan
