Tasty has been around for forever. It's quick and cheap, sometimes you may have a bad experience sometimes you will not. The owner is pretty good about fixing any issue. I'll give it a 3 but worth the try.

Bullet Proof Glass between you and the 'Tasty Sub' employees so no need to speculate and robbing the place. This is what you order; Italian Beef, Hot and Sweet Pepper with mozzarella Cheese. TO GOThis place "Tasty Sub" is the kind of place that you announce to the weakest person in the car with you (or ya) that's, 'it is OK, Imma run up in here without you to get the food, you just stay in the car, but give me the money or card for all the food; brother.'This place "Tasty Sub" is not the place you dine in at. Hence, to answer the question why "Tasty Sub" there are not tables nor not even (1) one chair. Not even a stool for you or anyone else.

The times I find myself visiting Tasty Sub is when I am very hungry in the late-evening hours prior to my work shift. The affordable, yet filling specials are hard to pass up when there is nothing else available on Howard Street that is open near and after mid-night.Tasty Sub is a grimy looking, tailor-made to the ghetto sandwich place with no restrooms, seats or tables inside, yet there are prize, tattoo, gumball machines and trash receptacles instead. Reasons behind that I'am not aware of, but it makes the restaurant designed solely for takeout purposes instead of dine-in enjoyment. Most of the times I visit, I tend to encounter the regulars who are seemingly drunk or high who give the employees behind the glass a hard time in a good way. As for the foods, the selections to choose from are a variety of submarine sandwiches, italian beef, gyro, burger & hot sandwiches, pizza puff, hot dogs & polish, chicken, seafood, and fish. And as I share this review, I have visited and ordered here on three separate occasions with one ordering the chicken nuggets, another ordering a beef hot dog, and another ordering a pizza puff which each costing no more than $5 w/ fries and canned soda.As for parking your only option is either neighborhood or street metered parking which can be limited at times. And on the topic of parking, I absolutely do not recommend parking in the Popeyes parking lot because your vehicle is liable to get towed or booted! And trust me there is someone onsite that will make that happen.If you are ever strolling down Howard Street on a late-evening or live in the area and looking to pick up takeout near or after mid-night, Tasty Sub is your place.Thomas G

Great food cooked to order. I prefer the chicken to their other options but their patty melt and beef sandwiches are good options. Their mild sauce is more like a homemade ketchup but delicious anyways. If you want some fast food or deli sandwiches this is your place. Can't go wrong with the classic pizza puff! Prices so reasonable you can't even be mad.

Food is not good! Coming from a person from the south side of Chicago. This place doesn't come close! Fries taste old and bland. Just not a good place. They don't listen to special notes on how you would like your order. Trash never again will I but from this place.

Coming from the Dr office today 3/13/23, my friend and I needed to eat. We've been driving by Tasty Sub for a while now and My friend's usual spot is on Morse. We both decided to stop and try Tasty as some of the pics looked pretty good. Wow! So awesome wee stopped he got a double fish sandwich & I a gorgeous wet beef with mozzarella!! They both came with fries, and a drink - that's the "meal". Soooo delicious blows our usual place outta the water!! We are 66 & 57 love great food, Tasty Sub has great food! Go in, order out, they have an extensive menu!!! Enjoy
