Q Sushi Bar & Omakase

We had a variety of maki and appetizers. All we're small but exquisite bites, very fresh and delicious.

Went to Q Sushi Bar & Omakase during my trip to Chicago. It has been bookmarked and I have been dying to go since I started to research restaurants. I made a reservation when dinner service first started at 4:30. The staff was extremely friendly and the host and the server were actually the same person. I ordered the omakase, which is a chef special set starting at $99. $99 is on the lower end of omakases but their sushi tasted like it was on the higher end. Typically, the omakases I frequent are sushi or nigiri pieces only however, Q Sushi has a different approach on how they tackle omakase. They deploy various different styles of raw fish like rolls, sashimi, miso soup, salad, and more. They also keep their hot green tea on tap so it's is easy and quick to refill.Overall, I enjoyed my time at Q Sushi and hope to visit again!

Definitely will be a return-to spot for us. Love the laid-back, fun vibes. We had the omakase - my fave dishes were the spicy tuna and salmon, as well as the mushroom miso soup. Chef Oni, Michael and the rest of the staff were welcoming and on top of it. Make sure you get them all a round of drinks!

We had a wonderful dining experience for our anniversary. We drove 40 minutes from Oak Park and it was worth every minute and every penny for the $99 tasting menu. We got to see the chef's skills up close and personal and Mike behind the bar was amazing. He immediately took an interest in us and how we came to join them for such a wonderful evening. My wife felt so welcomed that she was still glowing about it this morning to everyone we talked to on Easter. I believe we had 8 courses, but it could have been more as the whole experience was so seamless I had no interest in trying to keep track of anything. I just sat back and enjoyed the experience of being taken care of so well. The food itself didn't take a back seat. Each dish was a sel contained delight that flowed through flavors, textures, and surprise. My wife doesn't like mushrooms at all and was worried that's miso soup contained many different types. After giving it a try she said it was the best soup she has had!Tldr. Intimate, personal, welcoming, delicious, intricate, and a great value that anyone should do for a special occasion!

Sat at the bar, drank sake and ordered sushi to our hearts content. Everything was delicious, ambiance was chill and comfortable. Everyone working the counter and sushi bar are attentive and welcoming. A neighborhood staple!

I'm from out of town (Phx, AZ) and I came to visit chicago for the first time. I stopped by the restaurant to order a to go iced tea and salmon maki. Speedy service and high quality sushi! If I was from the area, I would definitely be a regular at their restaurant!

4.5 stars but I rounded up to 5 as 4 is too low.We got the omakase. The staff were friendly and outgoing, so expect lots of joking around and conversations. The place was pretty empty for a Saturday night so it gets quite intimate. Only one other couple at the bar. The chefs will drink with you and offer you drinks, so expect that as well. Maybe don't drive here. I liked the food a lot; good variation of fish, rolls, apps. Pretty affordable too, all things considered. I wouldn't consider this a great spot if you are looking to celebrate something particularly special, as it's not very private. But for a normal night out, it's great.

We tried their tasting menu. We had a generous amount of food and were so full after the last course. Their appetizer were really good, sushi was fresh and the flavor is good but not amazing, hence four stars. The ambiance is a little loud but joyful because their servers and sushi chefs were taking shots with their customers. They definitely create a friendly and fun and no pretentious place for people to come and have good sushi. We would definitely come back and just have their really rolls because they were really good.

Went back for more!!! Can't say enough good things about Q! Tried the tasting menu this time and they did not disappoint! Quality was superb- unbelievably fresh and delicious. We have been to a lot of sushi places but Q is beyond compare. Chef and Mike were so engaging and made us feel welcome- they even introduced us to Chicago Malort! What an enjoyable experience. No doubt we will always come back - our go to Sushi place, special occasion or just because we feel like it!!!

I can't think of one critical thing about Q Sushi. The tasting menu is superb. The attention to detail is as good as it gets. The staff nails the fine line between attentive and discreet. We never wanted for anything including privacy. The location is easy to find, and navigate. The dining area is small and intimate yet never did we feel intruded upon. Back to the food. I love sushi, and while not an expert by any means, I have had it from many locations including Hawaii. I can confidently say in my humble opinion, this is arguably as fresh and creative as any fare had in the most exclusive restaurants. and the local spots in both Maui and Oahu.
