MEAL: DinnerMEAL PREFERENCE: VegetarianORDER TYPE: Dine inMY RATING: 2.5MY ORDER EXPERIENCE:This has been one of my favorite restaurants for their biryani. They have one other location in Devon Street where I had their vegetable biryani. The ambience of the place was low key, but the place is popular for its food. Hoping for the same, I went to the one in the Schaumburg location. The menu was on a blackboard with appetizers, biryani, breads etc. Upon quickly scanning the menu, I ordered Omelet Paratha and Vegetable Biryani.First, I had Omelet Biryani which was topped with onions and lime and served with raita. The presentation of the omelet looked great and without any delay I started working on it. Interestingly, it tastes good with raita as the combination is not common. Then, I had vegetable biryani which looked yummy as it was served with raita and gravy. After I had my first spoon, I was disappointed as the biryani taste was not the same anymore. Weirdly, it had corn and peas in the biryani and did not taste well. I was jealous of my friend's biryani as he ordered Mutton Biryani, and it looked the same as I imagined but unfortunately, I could not eat it as it had meat. I did not want to waste it so I finished halfway and took the other half to go. They gave a good portion, but the taste was quite disappointing. My friend said that he enjoyed his biryani and would go back again but for me this might be the last time. I still cannot figure out why they had corn in the biryani that made it worse. The spice level of our food was Spicy, and we were given bottled water. Upon finishing we went up to the counter and paid the bill. The food was alright, and the service was decent too. I would not recommend this place if you were going for vegetarian food or for ambience.PROS:* The food prices are cheap.* Quiet atmosphere.CONS:Limited vegetarian options.
