Fettuccine Alfredo had a great balance of well seasoned creaminess without being clumpy or oily.
Perfectly cooked moist chicken parmigiana.
Stuffed salmon special - lovely
Gin Flower With House Salad
Grilled Octopus- it was served very undercooked :(

I've been here 3-4 different time over the course of 3 years. I really want to love it as I live close by. Each time the food was mediocre and the service was very slow. They were friendly, but slow to take our orders and get our food to us.The interior is homey.

Another solid dinner at Gusto. I've come here several times with the family and we've never been disappointed. The restaurant has an old school feel, with classic voices of the past playing overhead as you eat. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams all taking you back to yesteryear. My chicken parmesan was very moist and flavorful, perfectly cooked with hot mozzarella and Parmesan melted all over the top. It came with penne pasta in marinara sauce, a very traditional accompaniment. My son loves their fettuccine Alfredo which he orders every time. This is normally a rich dish wherever you get it, but Gusto's has a great balance of well seasoned creaminess without being clumpy or oily, which seems to happen too often at restaurants. My daughter's gnocchi in marinara was very tasty. The total portion size was very large but the potato dumplings were small enough so that 4 or 5 bites didn't quickly make her feel stuffed. There's plenty in the dish so after eating over half of it, she still had plenty to take home for the next day. Each entree comes with soup or salad which seems harder and harder to find these days as you have to order a salad in addition to your entree. Prices are definitely reasonable for the amount of food you get. Gusto is a very tasty Italian meal and a pretty good value for all the food you get.

Classic looking Italian restaurants are rare like this one in Glenview. Gusto Italiano has the atmosphere right. It also has drinks and food, the reasons why people still come here after years. Has a convenient location in downtown. The train station is close to here so you can use public transportation. A lot of the Italian classics. It has a bar in the middle which is good if wanting to watch the live music. This place looks pretty classy yet it's casual and has good prices. It's about $10 for a cocktail. On special was the Gin Flower. Good combination. This was gin, grapefruit, and St. Germain topped with sparking wine. As far as the food it's not on the same level but it's good from what I've had. The menu is meaty. Common items include spaghetti with various meat sauces, and there's crazier stuff like octopus. It's $6 for a House Salad. Basic looking but it was was a good amount. This was simple but good for light meals. Good place and there's a pretty big menu of classics and newer items. It gets busy but there's usually enough room inside, but big groups should get reservations. This is a quick walk from the Metra station.

We were going to order a bottle of wine when our waiter said our choice of Meomi Pinot noir was kind of "light," so he recommended another (Sea something or other). Glad we listened. The wine was lip-smacking good! We had a wonderful conversation with our waiter about different wines. He was VERY knowledgeable and offered some other recommendations. We both had pasta: arribiata wasn't too spicy. My choice was carbonara. It was listed as chicken carbonara but I requested no chicken. No problem. Pasta had peas (love it) and pancetta (ditto) but the menu said it was served with an Alfredo sauce. Real carbonara is made with egg yolk and cheese so I'm taking one star off for saying it was served with Alfredo. I love the white fish here and get it often. We had the octopus appetizer. Good but perhaps just a touch over cooked but the portion was so huge that the majority of our pastas were boxed up and taken home, as was a hunk of octopus. Seems like all portions are huge. Entrees come with soup or salad. I think they need to extend their hours beyond 8 pm. 8 o'clock in Italy is a typical dinner hour, not closing time. Lots of people like to eat later. All pastas are made in house. You can choose what type of pasta you want (spaghetti, penne, ravioli, etc) and your sauce ( marinara, pesto, olio y aglio, etc). Really like this place. Food is consistently good.

Best lamb chops ever! We both ordered them. Delicious!!! And the soups - minestrone and chicken sausage - both excellent. Lovely space, good service. If you haven't been here absolutely try it. Every time my daughter and grandson come to visit me in Chicago come to Gustos in Glenview. The short ribs and ravioli tonight were outstanding. And Conrad, who is our waiter, is just a wonderful human being and a terrific server. I would love to eat here every night.

Alright I'm gonna be nice. This place's food is definitely bottom tier for good Italian American. Nothing will blow your mind but it's all edible. I still like this place though even though the food is mids. Martinis are solid. I like sittin at the bar. And it's cozy in there around Christmas time. They earned my respect during covid for not complying with those bullshit shutdowns. Went for New Year's Eve that year being one of the only places open and definitely enjoyed myself. Food is very mediocre but I still like this place 6.5/10

Website says open 4-9. Get there at 7:30. Order wine and she tells us kitchen closes at 8. Ok, that's fine. Order our food. Came out about 8. At 8:10 they shut off the music, like to push out the door. Asked what happened to the music. Said it was on a timer and some of the lights would also be going out at 8:30. Never heard of such a thing! Would have ordered coffee and dessert! Plenty of great restaurants around. Won't becoming back!!!!

My family and I got carry out a week ago. We paid $140 for 3 chicken parm... unbelievable. Now we used to come to Gusto all the time when I was younger and didn't realize how expensive they have gotten. Upon eating our chicken when it was brought up to our mouth it smelled like straight dog food. It was so revolting I even gagged. When cutting the chicken open it had a grey color. My jaw immediately dropped and I everyone's chicken was the same. We all dumped the chicken out and sat in silence. There was pasta on the side so we thought we had to eat something and who could mess up pasta. WRONG. We began eating it and the red sauce tasted of sweet candy and smelled like it had been cooked in the same pan as the chicken. We dumped that as well and all feared for food poisoning. After reading several reviews of people who have had the same experience we will never be coming back. It's so sad to see someone take "pride" in serving pork slop.
