Chew N Chat Cafe

The food, service and ambiance of this fantastic little mom and pop cafe is well worth a trip off 95. While the food is simple it is the kind of homemade faire you will daydream about days down the road. We stopped for breakfast. The coffee was excellent and never ending. The sausage was amazing. We will definitely stop again whenever in the area! I would have postedPictures but we ate too fast.

Was in the Rocky Mount area due to the unexpected passing of a family member. My best friend came from Greenville for brunch and found Chew 'N Chat on Yelp. Our time with one another and the staff was just what we needed. It gets pretty busy, but we were able to be seated and it immediately felt like home. Everyone tends to your needs, exhibiting great patience with explaining the dining options. Your food is cooked fresh in front of you like a fine dining venue. It's cozy so you can communicate with everyone in the room if you so choose. The food comes out quickly so prepare to be well fed. My meal was absolutely fulfilling. My only regret was not ordering the coffee, which is large and prepared just like I like it. There is such a strong sense of community here. Tips are shared. I am looking forward to stopping by the next time I'm in Rocky Mount.

This is the ultimate hole in the wall to top ALL! This is in a small strip mall that you would rather not look at ,much less stop at. That would be your first mistake! The pimento cheese on toast was wonderful, only to be topped by Granny's soup (beef and vegetables). My son had the fried flounder and he thought it was fantastic. I know, I know, the parking lot is gravel, but trust me, you have to try this place out!

This is small place with basic breakfast items. However, the food is good and inexpensive. No frills nothing fancy just a good place to have a quick meal.

We were traveling I95 North and missed O My Lard in Elm City but found the Chew & Chat Cafe on Yelp in time to get off the exit. Someone else posted that you should try it even though the exterior looks a little sketchy. It's in a strip mall, but they were so right. I had the Southern burger. The pimento cheese tasted the way my grandmother used to make it. Others in our party had the chicken salad, grilled chicken, and fresh fruit. It all tasted fresh and so much better than a fast food fix. It wasn't too far off the interstate and was definitely worth the extra mile or two. They had iced lemon pound cake. We were too full to eat it, but we purchased a slice for the road..The service was fast and friendly. I would definitely stop again when we are near Rocky Mount.

This is without question my favorite breakfast spot in Rocky Mount and the service is GREAT!

Excellent food! Don't be put off by the appearance. It's small, so seating is limited. Service was excellent, Prices very reasonable. All the food I saw coming of the kitchen looked great. I had a cranberry/blu cheese/field greens/etc salad with fried chicken and the house made balsamic vinaigrette which was the best I've ever had. Sorry folks, I'm not one to take a pix of my food...I just eat it. I would go again when I'm over that way from Greenville ( to shop in the cozy The Yarn Parlor).

Meeting friends that were roadtripping after their wedding and the bride decided on this place. Kind of out of the way of the highway and we wondered if we were in the right place. We were once we saw all the cars.The place is small but everyone was friendly and quick to answer any questions we had. The food was all delicious and hot. It isn't a fancy place and the dishes are pretty southern. But everything we had hit the spot and was cooked perfectly.If you are looking for fancy, this ain't it but if you want good food, done well, than it is your spot!
