Chef Tony’s Jamaican Cuisine and Catering

I had a hankering for some Caribean food so I did a Yelp search and my usual spot was closed so I decided to give this place a shot. Per Waze, it was supposed to be much closer to me, but 30 minutes later I finally found the place, Be warned those that venture here you might think this place is in a free-standing building but it's not, you will find it in a food hall with other businesses It took me a bit to realize this so don't get lost as I did, the good thing is it's in the front of the food hall so you won't have to walk far once you get in there. As I usually say the food is made to order so don't expect to walk in and out quickly. This is fine in most instances but the wait here seemed longer than normal. I had Ox Tails, peas, and rice with cabbage. The food was okay nothing to write home about, what dragged the score down for me was the customer service and price. When you charge me 3x the amount I would pay any place else and you act as if I'm bugging you to stop by your business, that doesn't leave me wanting to come back and tell my friends.

I was on the hunt for some Jamaican food and typically I have to drive over to Decatur or Stone Mountain for some good spots. My usual place was too far out so I decided to pull up Yelp and find a closer spot. This place wasn't close from where I was but there were cars in the lot so I trusted it. I was very pleased with my oxtails and rice. She gave me more gravy on the rice and peas and I enjoyed the well seasoned cabbage. If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely visit again.

I hired Chef Tony to cater for my parent's vow renewal and let's say that they did not miss! His team was ready to prepare and serve. Now let's get to the food which was A1. Being from a Jamaican family, it's hard to find good AUTHENTIC Jamaican food that you can compare but EVERYTHING was fantastic! My guests left nothing but praise and my parents were so happy. 10/10. Thank you for helping to make their day amazing.

Loved - Loved - Loved - Loved - Loved - Loved Fried Chicken w/Jerk Sauce: Jerk Sauce is definitely spicy. Fried chicken is hot juicy and flavorful. Thigh pieces and drumsticksPeas and Rice: fluffy and flavorful DJ & Caribbean Kickback vibe on Wednesday late night - doesn't close until 2am DISLIKED ; Disliked ; Disliked ; Disliked ; Disliked They didn't put the jerk sauce on the side, even though we asked, and they repeated and confirmed it. I love the sauce but too much is too spicy for me. :-( -- however the sauce is delicious, FYI.

Excellent food but doesn't beat other competiting Jamaican restaurants. The biggest turn off is the number of people loitering around...they weren't rude or aggrrssove- just there. If you're worried about social distancing and masks, avoid. If you want quality, authentic Jamaican food, try it. Not a large selection on the menu, just the main stuff. Was out of beef patties...

Not exactly sure how this business has a 5 star review. Maybe slighted reviews by friends or family ? I ended up at Chef Tony's after a recommendation from a friend. It seems to be not only a restaurant but hang out spot as well as when we pulled up there were several people hanging outside listening to music with tables, playing games, a DJ playing etc . Seemed like a pretty cool place. I went inside to place my order. Me and my friend both placed and order for an oxtail plate and a fried chicken plate. Here is what went wrong1. There was no social distancing AT ALL . People were everywhere and trying to squeeze themselves into one tiny little shop. They should have someone regulating at the door how many people can be in that space at a time. Also no one was wearing masks. Not one customer. (Just gives you an idea of what crowd to expect) but because I was starving I decided to wait since at least the employees were wearing masks. Also people were cutting the line, reaching over the counter etc. you are likely to be served first if you are friends of the workers, owner etc 2. My food took FOREVER! After about 30 minutes I went to the counter to ask about my food and the look on the face of the employee was one of (what food?) instantly I knew something was wrong. After walking in and out of the kitchen about 10 times, she proceeded to tell me that they had given my food away to someone else. WHAT? And then they said they don't have any more to give. That's just ridiculous. You gave my food away and you don't have anymore . After expressing my concern , the person behind the counter proceeded to ask why do I have an attitude. 3. That leaves me to #3, customer service is DEFINITELY lacking. If I paid for food, waited 30 minutes, find out that its been given away and that it cannot be replaces, I think I have a right to be upset My friend ended up just settling for the fried chicken that she STILL had to pay for and wait an additional 15 minutes for only to have it not taste that greatBasically wasted an hour for mediocre food and horrible customer service I would definitely not recommend

Who has the best fried chicken? Chef Tony's I'm sorry I ate it all it was so SO good!!!!. The best fried chicken in the world (sorry auntie) lol.
