"Before I start, I want to make note that my pizza was delivered, and my husband used to say grading a pizza place based on delivery isn't exactly fair, unless delivery is all they offer. Pizza is best piping hot or cold from the fridge and not a lot between. Okay. Onward. I have been meaning to try Levantes forever but it's in a part of town I don't frequent (and if I'm close by chances are I'll get a Cookout tray, double up on cheese bites). So feeling disinclined to cook tonight - and hey, give me a break; last night I made spinach and mushroom risotto from scratch - I finally took the plunge. None of the specialty pizzas really grabbed me so I did a CYO (create your own) with mild Italian sausage and red onions. Ordered a large, regular sauce, so I have leftovers, else really why bother?Now, as a baker and a good second-generation Russian-American lover of bread, I must first and foremost have a good crust. I grew up in the northeast so a thin, chewy dough is my preference. Gold star here, Levantes. The crust was properly bubbled and brown and toothy and solid enough that I really want to try their calzones. Next is the sauce, which should have only enough sugar to blunt the tomato acidity. Again, gold star. The sauce should always complement but not overwhelm a pizza with cheese. (Pizza marinara is another matter.) Speaking of, the mozzarella was quality, and if the dough, the sauce or the cheese is lacking, I will turn up my nose at a pizza faster than a toddler with Brussels sprouts. Only quibble was with the sausage. I like ground sausage and expected it but what arrived was sliced. Also a bit salty. Neither of these things to me was significant enough to deduct points. Toppings were generous too. I kinda want to give Levantes four stars but I am betting anything getting it fresh and hot would take me to five stars, so they get the benefit of the doubt. Will update my review when I get to try a calzone. Good pie, Levantes!"

We began patronizing the Common Market in the Southend of Charlotte which had a wonderful shaded alley lined with chairs, plantings, and unique people. Sipping wine on a sunny afternoon and enjoying a sandwich was a simple pleasure that reminded us of Ronda, Mykonos, Rome or somewhere way cooler than anywhere called home.So, I was excited to learn that East Frank's is the same owner and has modeled this location after the others (NoDa, Oakwold, etc.). "Dropped in for a quick bday celebration after work. This was my first visit. They had a special this day which was $6 martinis. I don't even drink martinis or anything strong but I tried the pineapple one. It was strong (for me) and I took the entire hour visit to drink the one haha.I got the salmon tacos and I got a side of the loaded fries. The salmon tacos were tasty. I enjoyed them. They weren't anything too crazy. The fries on the other hand, not so much. I wound of leaving them. The cheese dried hard so when you picked up a fry, the cheese fell off. The fries were severely seasoned so I needed a different sauce to mellow them out. I'm glad I didn't order the large portion which I was going to. Overall, just chill bar food. Not bad and would go back to try the juke box."

She's polite and professional, she smiles and is articulate. Parking is plenty as it shares a common parking lot with many other businesses.My friend and I went on a Saturday night around 7:00 and we waited for a table for maybe 10 minutes. We were greeted by our server within a few minutes of being seated. The inside of the restaurant is modern, simple, and well done. There is an open window where the dumplings are made. There is bar seating and also a tea/boba counter. Also, there is seating in the back of the restaurant as well. I started with an order of the bao buns, fries and a strawberry matcha. The bao buns were mediocre. They were lacking in the flavor department and if it weren't for the dipping sauce they would not have been enjoyable. The fries were crispy and the ketchup and mayo dip was so good. The matcha was the perfect mix of sweet and good flavored matcha. For my entree I order the pho nam. The broth was the best part- so flavorful. I did not care for the brisket as it was super fatty, which I know comes with the brisket territory, but it was basically all fatty meat, which I ended up not eating. Olive oil cake was good, but I would not order it again. I will say our server came around about every 3-5 minutes to ask how things were and if we needed anything, which was a bit much in my opinion. I also asked two different t people for napkins and never received them until our checks came. Overall, the food was good and I recently ordered pick up and this time for the pho with meatballs, which was much more enjoyable than the brisket."

There are not very many options for sandwiches but you cannot go wrong with any of them. My favorite right now is called "The Godfather". YUM! They serve Boars Head meat, which is the cherry on top for me. The bread is AMAZING! The combo of meats and bread are just a symphony of flavors you don't want to miss out on! If you live around downtown concord, definitely stop by and give it a try. They also sell homemade pans of lasagna, stuffed shells, meat balls, chicken parmigiana in their cold fridges for you to take and heat up at home!"

The rib meat was great on its own, and the sauce they put on top would be better for dipping as you need it. We went easy on the food so we could have ice cream. We got the berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream, fried apple pie with sugar free vanilla, a single scoop, a mint chocolate chip milkshake, and a banana split. They were out of strawberry so we subbed it for black cherry. So good! The seating was a mix of tables with chairs and booths. I loved that you could eat a quality meal and still have good conversation because it wasn't overly loud. Our waitress was good, and the other wait staff helped out when our waitress was busy with other tables. I hope we can come back again soon."
