Delicious food options. Service is good and the ambiance is ok. Small cafe which can make it busy sometimes but the food is worth it. Everything is good.

this is one of my favorite vietnamese restaurants in houston! i would definetly check out the bún đậu mắm tôm, the hột vịt lộn xào me and bánh khọt. if you're looking for authentic vietnamese food this is the closest thing you're going to get. the service here is also fine nothing too special but it's no where near bad, just a casual eatery. the restaurant is also very clean but beware the parking lot is usually pretty full since there's a vietnamese grocery store nearby.

This place is a great hole in the wall spot for a variety of Vietnamese dishes. The service was fast and my friend and I were seated quickly despite how packed it was on a Monday night. We first ordered the HỘT VỊT LỘN XÀO ME (Tamarind sauce balut) for an appetizer and it was a good choice. The dish comes with three eggs and was topped with the tamarind sauce, fried pork fat/onion bits, roasted peanuts, and laksa leaves. For the main dish, we got the Bánh Canh Cua (tapioca noodle soup with crab). This was the first time I tried Bánh Canh Cua and I was a little taken back by how strong the fishy taste was but for my Vietnamese friend, she said it was perfect so I trust her critique more than mine. To lighten the soup, I added some lime juice and it was good. Something I really appreciated about this dish is the large amount of crab meat they put in. There were also loads of other toppings like shrimp, pork blood, pork feet, quail egg, and cha lua (pork roll).

No customer service!Waited to get seated, once seated they put down two menus and told me to write in the order book what we wanted to order. Even in third world countries (such as Vietnam) do not do this type of non service.Table is still sticky, piece of bean sprout was still on table. We understand hole-in-the-wall but this is on another level. Here is the menu, here is order book, write what you want and give it back to me when you made up your mind. Utensils are one the table, already, do you want me to go back and cook my own food then, prepare and bring out the food myself? This is blame on the restaurant owners, not directly on the servers, they either allow this or agreed to this non-service and are too cheap to hire correctly.

Our friends said this place serves authentic Vietnamese food and sold us on the Bot Chien. So we decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint at all. Every single dish was amazing! Their banh bot chien was crispy and instead of cooking with scrambled eggs, they use fried eggs. It was so good! The crisp texture with the runny eggs was to die for. You must remind them you don't want the overdone fried eggs. We ordered the seafood banh khot which had a variety of shrimp, beef and squid. I'm used to eating it with shrimp only but I like that there is variety for those who are allergic to shellfish. The banh khot is bigger than what I know as normal size but I like it. The shrimp are big and the beef was a nice change. My companions thought the squid would be better if it were sliced thinner but it didn't bother me at all. It was tender and not chewy. Some say it is too doughy but ours was crispy. The snails in coconut milk was so yummy and the blood clams were very good, not too chewy. The hu tieu was very clean and full of flavor. The only thing missing for me is the dried crispy shrimp and the chicharon. We also ordered the bun rieu which is a disappointment in many restaurants but not this place. It was beyond good. I've brought other friends here in the last two weeks and they love the food. It is definitely one of my fave Vietnamese restaurants here in Houston.

Well, the food tasted quite like the original "Canh Bun," but the unexpected addition of a cockroach felt like an uninvited extra! If you want new taste, come and join for cockroach party

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Houston for Banh Khot! Banh Khot is a savory little pancake with shrimp in the middle. It's described as a pancake but its more like a mini muffin with incredibly crisp edges thanks to the special cast iron pan its cooked in.If you like Banh Xeo, this is like it's fun younger sister! You eat it wrapped in all the fresh greens and dipped into fish sauce. So so good. The crisp edges, the bite of shrimp contrasted with the leafy greens dipped in the fish sauce is like heaven on earth. The portion is HUGE and is definitely meant to share. My plate came with 10 pieces and was so delicious. My jaw DROPPED when they placed it on our table.I also ordered the pickled kumquat drink (a must) and the coconut snails. Yes, coconut snails or Öc Len Xão Dua! These little suckers are deliciously cooked in a lemongrass coconut sauce. Pro tip on how to eat these - open up the bottom and suck it out! You get the perfect combo of sauce and snails! Some are a little harder to get out so use the provided mini forks.Love this place and always a recommended restaurant as a Vietnamese gal.

This is quite possibly one of the best Vietnamese hole in the wall places you'll ever eat at. I saw a few photos of some potential dishes and knew exactly what I wanted to order. I was mostly sold on the banh khot dish and bot chien. Everything else, I wanted to be a surprise. Bun Rieu- there was so much depth of flavor in the broth. the noodles were nice and chewy with a bite. the tofu was soaked in broth and bursting with umami flavor. the tomatoes had a balance of soggy to firm ratio. and lastly the shrimp meatball was delectableBanh Bot Chien- quite the take on fried egg and fried rice/tapioca cake. the crispiness of the fried banh bot chien was possibly one of the best fried goodness that has landed in my mouth. dip it in the sauce they provide and its pure goodness. the fried egg is on top and not cracked and cooked in between. Banh Khot- ah the BEST dish of the visit. the crunch to soft ratio, plus every bite I took just put my soul into heaven. I didn't want it to end, even when my stomach was coming to it's fullness. The dish took a bit of time to come out and it was well worth the wait. I couldn't stop smiling of how good this dish was. I even posted it on instagram and received so many responses of where to find it. I wasn't going to gatekeep, cause I want my friends to know where to find this gem. Salted Kumquat - I feel as though this is an acquired taste. If you didn't grow up drinking this, then it might not be for you. But for me, it was delicious! Just wait for the ice to dilute a little bit and it's perfection. No one speaks an ounce of English, and that's when you know this place is legit. Authentic. Quite possible one of the best Vietnamese hole in the wall. It's enough for me to bring my mom here to not miss out on.
