Bun Mang Vit Thanh Da

My cousin took us here for Sunday lunch after mass and recommended the Bun Mang Vit, it was delicious. I didn't get a chance to capture a photo of the bowl but did get the side of goi vit that came with it. You really get a lot of food for the price you're paying. Staff was friendly took our order and had it out in no time. Plenty of other stuff on the menu will have to come back another time to try it all! If you're in the area some show your support!

Although there are more than duck soup and duck noodle soup, the name gave you the hint what this place is famous for.Thanh Đa is the town outside of Saigon known for its condo complexes and duck specialty eateries.The home made ginger flavor chilly dippingcm sauce is the secret. A bowl of duck noodle soup comes with a plate of duck salad finely chopped and served.I must warn you that the portion is huge. I couldn't finish the large order.I loved the sugarcane juice (nước mía) and the penny leave and mung bean juice (rau má đậu xanh) as well. Prompt and friendly services.

I'm no expert on Vietnamese food, but this restaurant serves pretty good food. First, the restaurant smelled really bad like fish sauce and cigarette smoke. Eventually it grew on me. Second, the servers were so fast. As soon as they took my order, I started getting condiments like fish sauce and spicy sauces. Everything, including the food, came out all at once and so fast that I didn't know where to start first. The egg rolls and grilled pork spring rolls were pretty good. When we asked for more mint leaves, they obliged. The special bun mang vit hay was pretty good. The soup was delicious. It had some liver and bamboo shoots too. The other plate came with some shredded cabbage and all sorts of duck parts. I don't know what I ate, but tbh I only really enjoyed the dark meats. They had restrooms in the back. After I finished eating, I had to get up to pay at the register. They're located in the corner of the strip mall, but they have plenty of parking here.

For non Asian, walking in and the smell of bamboo will be overwhelming. Like the name of the restaurant, they specialize in bamboo duck noodle soup. For the amount of food we got, the price is very low. We even have leftovers! We get this huge plate of cut up ducks on top of raw cabbage with some light fish sauce. In your bowl soup there are noodles and bamboo. You can either add all the duck cabbage into your soup bowl or just eat it separately. There's really not a right or wrong way to eat it. They gave us a small dipping sauce for the duck meat.

The food is delicious and the price is very reasonable. I love the fact that it comes with a soup base and a salad with chicken on the side.

Party of 3. Came for dinner. Total bill $86 can't beat the price for all of our dishes. Would definitely come back if I was craving vit goi. The duck was cleanly prepared, no smell and it was super tender. My chao vit was amazing, came with vit goi. My mother had the bun mang, so not sure how that went. I just tasted the bamboo and it was too tender and had a smell to it still. Eggrolls we're good. Below are the dishes we had and ratings. Snails didn't have much flavor but they were tender. The restaurant is in a strip past the big Crawfish and Noodles restaurant strip on Bellaire. It's quaint and has a friendly staff, and it's always full of people. The bun mang vit is a hot soup that is interestingly good to eat, and it comes with a side of Vietnamese salad.The flan is iced on top, soft, and not too sweet, again, interesting.I prefer better lighting and more space, but it's not a modern contemporary place, so it's like Thien Thanh: great food inside an old restaurant. An entree will be over $10.00 over here.

Very good bun mang vit with very reasonable price. However the store does smell like bamboo shoot which might not be pleasant to those who is not use to it. Food is awesome and service is good considering a mom and pop restaurant. Recommend and will return.

Came here with a big party on a Saturday afternoon and I can't say that I'd come back.Food... I liked the duck salad. They give generous portions at a very decent price.However, the minute I walked in the whole restaurant smelled like a restroom. It was also clear that it was understaffed so service was slow and inattentive.

Check your receipt, they added more dishes that you did not order, and they charged service automatically.
