Brown Sugar Soul

We were over in the area getting food from another truck and saw this BOB and wanted to give it a try! Plus everything spelled SOOOOOO good! The gentleman who helped us was super nice and gave us a sample of the Greens (OMG I was thrown back with how good they tasted!!!!) after we had ordered their REGULAR mac and cheese (remember, we had already ordered from other places in the park). When we ate the mac and cheese, we were thrown back, but it was more of a flavor throw in the wrong direction. We were not fans of the way they seasoned their Mac and Cheese and ended up not finishing it :-/Like I said earlier, I will be back for more food and I will not knock them on everything without trying it all first! But for now, I leave them a 3 star rating based on the goodness of the greens sampler and then seasoning on the M&C.

Went on a Saturday at 5.. I text my order but was notified when I got there they do not take orders in advance on weekends I ordered the oxtail Mac n cheese $10 It was sooo good It taste like there's a cornbread on top that makes it sweet but it's sooo cheesy I also love that there no fat in the oxtail chunks I ended up going back. Just for the Mac n cheese oxtails I also got the wing basket with fries.. I wasn't a fan of the wings.. too fatty and chewy but the fries were good (shoestring)The owner is extremely nice along with the ladies taking orders

Checked this place out on Sunday. Place takes cash or card. It's best to text him your order and he'll have an ETA for you. Ordered the Chicken and Waffles. You get a pretty generous portion of food and it's worth every penny. The wings were really good. As were the waffles. I like more chicken than waffles so this was up my alley! He's got other menu items that I'll be back to try soon!

Today was my first time here and not only are the wings delicious and fresh, the service was great. The gentlemen were patient with me and kind as I decided what to order. Kindness goes a long way and that made my day. Thank you for the water as well.

Looking for something different in the comfort food category? This is it. I had the brown sugar fried pork chops and oxtail Mac and cheese. It was all delicious. I think a shorter fry time for the chops maybe? But great combo of sweet and spicy with big meal at $20. Recommend give try. In a food truck park in Katy on Fry.

It's a great thing to finally see Brown Sugar Cajun Soul Food Truck on YELP! Already we see this cult following that exists with the Soul Food truck. Oxtail macaroni and cheese or oxtail macaroni and cheese sandwich, oh this is true comfort food for the Soul. Settle in on a basket of catfish or the amazing honey chicken wings and feel yourself. NOW is a great time to let the good times roll.

I have been trying to stop here but they aren't open during the week. I was able to find time to make it over here today. They are located in a food truck park on the south side of Fry Rd. I ordered the fried catfish and Mac and cheese. The Mac was ok but the fish was delicious! It was fried just right with crunch on the breading. They also offer an oxtail and Mac and I will try that in the very near future. S

Spicy honey bbq wings are good. Not really spicy but definitely good! Oxtail Mac and cheese is good but I wouldn't go crazy over them . The Mac and cheese part could be better. Food is made to order and comes out fresh

On 12/3/21, Friday at 5:30 PM in Katy, TX at food truck on Fry Road. Ordered Oxtails with rice and collard greens. RECEIVED MAC & CHEESE WITH A LINE OF OXTAIL MEAT for $18. I could have bought a box of Mac & Cheese for $1.50 from Walmart! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!Owner responded they do not serve oxtails with rice and gravy.My response: (1) Oxtails with rice and 1 side is ON their menu. (2) I NEVER said gravy. (3) Dishonesty is not a good way to build a brand or gain customers. ADMITTING you made a mistake would have been better for future business.

I heard about this food truck and decided to give it a try. Upon arrival there was plenty of free parking. The "BROWN SUGAR" food truck stood out. It's super nice and clean. The menu is easy to read. The prices are really fair. We ordered the honey garlic wings $12 it came with 1 big & several regular size wings. They are absolutely excellent. They were juicy without being wet. The flavor is sweet & savory. The Mac-N-Cheese was ok.. The Oxtail Sandwich is a last wish meal. You wish it wasn't so good!!! The calories alone make you wish, you're not coming back for another OXTAIL SANDWICH, when your stomach knows YOU WILL RETURN... EXTREMELY EXCELLENT. Who would think of a sandwich like this? Texas toast, corn bread, Mac-N-Cheese and oxtails.... what a "killer" combination on ALL LEVELS. Thank you so much for everything.. WE WILL RETURN FYI: They give you a buzzer. When your food is ready, they buzz you. You are not stuck outside in the smothering Texas heat.
