The standard for BBQ in Houston (#1) is so high that decent places like Brookstreet seem somewhat average in comparison. If it were a place in the northern part of the country, I think they'd be well received. They can't be considered among the heavy hitters in this city without being more consistent with their meats. 3.5 stars, rounded up.It's a good looking place with ample parking, covered patio seating, and a cozy interior that any place would love. I appreciate the homey vibe and intimate seating, and the super consistent service. That drive-thru is a gamechanger, which is perfect for folks who aren't interested in waits, or keeps people from having to wait in line (at least in person) and perfect for folks who are on the go. (#2)To be clear, I do like the food overall. I've had excellent versions of everything and I've also had dry and disappointing versions as well. The brisket and turkey are always big gambles, which also happen to be my favorite meats. I am fond of their jalapeño sausage and think the pulled pork is solid. The chopped beef baked potato is one of my favorite items, since it's fully loaded, and not as messy as other variations I've seen from around town. The jambalaya is a hard pass for me but the creamed corn and mac and cheese make up for it. Bread pudding is also a winner and a great way to end the meal. They also do deliver through a lot of the third party platforms. I always think BBQ is meant to be eaten in but the drive-thru makes this place a bonafide option for a last minute potluck or indulgent meal on the fly. ___________(#1) And really, Texas in general. (#2) Hello, it's me again.

I took a quart of sauce home. My lovely coworker took me here and I was astonished of this hidden gem. After taking one flavor check of sauce, I immediately asked the register if they sell it. I loved the location of an older home.It reminded me of my great grandmothers home and made it feel like I was having a home cooked meal. If you can't afford bbq and need a cheaper option get the chicken! Truly you get your money's worth. Chicken was flavorful and juicy. Yes, that includes the breast.

Use to pick up from them all the time. Last year it wasn't as good as I've had in the past years. Pocked up ribs and sausage and didn't seem fresh and my favorite peach cobbler was all peaches not at all cobbler.

Decided to order them through Uber Eats, I looked at the Yelp reviews before hand & automatically had an idea of what the taste would be like. Oh was I right haha. I got the three meat plate & for starters I was disappointed by the portion size for the price I paid. Very Bland, unseasoned sides. I got Mac & Beans. Worst beans I think I've ever had I didn't finish them. I am a Bean lover too. Mac was watery & tasteless. Unseasoned macaroni noodles. For the meat I got Ribs, Marble brisket & mixed sausage (Jalapeño/Regular). Ribs=Bland, tasted like they were made in a standard oven (No Smokey flavor) marble Brisket=Somewhat Tender a tad bit dry Mixed sausage= Great flavor/Tender & juicy. (hence the reason for me not giving 1 star. BBQ Sauce= A little on the Sweet side. Seems like an overload of brown sugar. Not trying to be biased but it is essential that you put "Who Dat" bread with your BBQ. Instead they give to what looks like a small piece of a French roll, that wasn't even tasty. Overall, it felt as if no soul was put into this cooking & highly unseasoned unfortunately. The BBQ misses on so many levels, & I wouldn't choose them even if they were the last BBQ option. Oh yeah I forgot the BBQ sauce, it was very watery & too sweet. Cheers,

It's been a few years since I had Brookstreet BBQ, and I'm glad I did. The food tasted as good, if not , better than last time.First, I ordered a Chopped Beef Sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. The Chopped Beef was tender and flavorful with the BBQ sauce, which had a sweet and tangy flavor. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and cheesy. I will get that again next time I return.Second, I ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich and it was juicy, tender, and flavorful, even without the BBQ sauce. With the sauce, took it to another level. The buns on both sandwiches were soft and soaked in the BBQ sauce.Lastly, I ordered the Wagon Wheel roll for my 3 year old son, who has a big appetite. He has never finished his food until today. The Wagon Wheel has Chopped Beef, Beans, and Cheese. I tasted it, and it was a good combination of flavors. Also, the bun was soft. My son loved it and ate it all.The service, on the other hand, the gentleman that took care of me, was professional, fast, and efficient. Big plus in my book.I'm glad that I returned to Brookstreet BBQ.You WILL see me again!!

Enjoyed my meal here. Good food. Lots of variety, good sides, great atmosphere. I went late afternoon and found a wonderful table with lots of light, but a cozy feel. It may become my new secret hideaway. Really relaxing place with good food, what's not to love? Oh. Good music playing too. I heard a nice mix of blues and country classics. From Willie to Gary Clark Jr or BB.

Ordered; Chicken Sausage Baby back ribsBrisketPulled pork I have to say that the Sausage and chicken stole the show. It meat was not as dry as the brisket and baby back ribs. The seasoning was great on all the food. The only thing that I did not enjoy was that the brisket and the baby back ribs being so dry. Do take in mind that this is just my pallet taste. If you had been to Woodranch in chino hills, CA, then nothing can compare in baby back ribs and I believe the brisket in Whole Foods is a lot more juicier and tender. Btw the sides were very well flavored and not overpowering. I wish some one would post a bread pudding picture on Yelp.

Overall, the space is great. Lots of room for indoor and outdoor seating. It was clean and easy to find seating. The service was efficient and the staff were accommodating. The BBQ itself is not the best I have ever had, but this is a great place to take friends who have never had Texas BBQ before to get their feet wet. There is not much to complain about! The brisket was appropriately tender without too much fat and smoked well. The taste was a little bland, but not bad. The portions are a good size. The sausage had a good crunch and was juicy with good flavor. The sides are pretty general, including mac and cheese, green beans, cole slaw, potato salad. All of these are generic in taste, but again, not bad by any means. We'll definitely be back and plan to bring friends!

The decor of Brooke Street Bar-B-Q appears to have a rustic and cozy vibe. The wooden ceiling and bar add a warm, inviting feel, while the stone walls give a charming, old-fashioned touch. The flooring has a patterned tile design that adds a bit of visual interest and texture. There are multiple TVs mounted above the bar, likely showing sports channels, which enhances the casual, relaxed atmosphere. The seating includes a mix of high stools and standard chairs, providing different seating options for patrons. Overall, it seems like a great spot to enjoy some barbecue in a comfortable and friendly setting.
