Brasserie Laurel will forever have a special place in my heart. If you want to take anything away from this review, take you and your family to this delicious and fantastic restaurant. We visited during Miami Spice. My fiancé had proposed to me that night and what I thought was a dinner for two ended up being a beautiful surprise dinner with my best friend, my fiancé's friend, and my parents. My mom went ahead of time and made an incredible tablescape. I want to give them 10000+ stars for accommodating this. What she created was beyond gorgeous and an homage to my Arab culture.Upon entering we were kindly greeted and taken to our stunning table. Some of us decided to do the Miami Spice menu and others chose different things. One thing I can tell you for sure is each appetizer and meal was divine. We got an order of the oysters to share with the table and they were perfect. They also all gave us some pea puree puff pastry starter that was yummy. My step dad ordered very delicious escargot. They were buttery magic. The Miami Spice beet salad was great. I loved my Miami Spice sea bream crudo. The star of the show was the steak my mom ordered. I kept stealing bites. I got the boeuf en croute, I'm drooling writing about it. They compared it to a beef Wellington. It was so good. My fiancé got the coq au vin pot pie which he adored. And the others got the Parisian gnocchi (they practically licked the plate).I had an incredible time with my friends and family at Brasserie Laurel and highly recommend visiting. You are bound to have an incredible meal. I'm so grateful to call this spot the place where I had my engagement dinner and to revisit when celebrating the anniversary of the proposal.

This French restaurant has been open for two years now. The decor is sleek, dark and moody. My husband and I adored the music choices, a lot of Jazz. It sets the atmosphere nicely. The service was pleasant, friendly and efficient. We came for their menu spice evening meal. We sampled the following - Amuse Bouche - Surprisingly my husband and I said this was our favorite part of our meal. Delicate filo pastry with a pop of green pea. Very tasty. We also received a warm bread which was almost like a choux pastry in texture.Appetizers 1/ Beet Salad - candy cane beets, whipped blue cheese and hazelnuts. I was excited to try this. I enjoyed it. However, I was disappointed. I found it to be too sweet, almost passing for a dessert. I was hoping the blue cheese would bite into the flavours to offer more saltiness. However, the blue cheese was served whipped and did not offer enough salt element for me. I found the combination quite strange. 2/ Lyonnaise Salad, Florida Avocado, Pickled Mango, Lettuce Vinaigrette, Frisee, Frog Bacon. We were missing the bacon element. All ingredients were fresh.Main - Coq au vin pot pie, green circle chicken, mushrooms, pancetta lardons. The pastry of the pie was nice. we found the inside of the pie to be too dry. My husband thought it was too salty as well. A gravy was served, but it was a totally different taste from the pie juices, so for me it did not work combining the two.Dessert - 1/ cheese. We were allowed to choose one cheese. This was then served with two toasted sour bread slices, honey, a jam and pickled vegetables. Again, we thought cheese being served with bread was strange. Also, the pickles again missed the spot. Why bother including it?2/ Cardamon panna Cotta. This did not look appealing to be honest. I did not taste cardomon. Having said that the panna cotta was smooth. I enjoyed the textures and surprise on the palette, ie freezing cold n icy, then smoothness, then melting elements. It was an interesting dessert.

WOW I really love (not just like) this newish classy French restaurant from the same folks who own Michelin-starred Arite. Service good and atmosphere are about as perfect as it gets.5 star food: simple (mostly) but amazingly good. Their spin on duck ravioli was off da charts papi, and worth the extra minutes of exercise to burn off the cholesterol : ). My partner's sea bass was quite possibly the best I've ever tasted.5 star service: the staffers were a well oiled machine of perfect timing, checking back and cheerfulness. They glide in and out like a silent ballet.5 star ambience: inside it's beautiful and softly mood lit. Outside it's the newest city apartment neighborhood rapidly being built out between Bayside and the Brightline station.

We had a great time at Brasserie Laurel. The customer service is top notch and every plate was executed at a high level. The flavor, decoration and explanation from the waiter was very detailed for each plate. The grand slam for me was the burger au poivre it's recommended to be eaten with a fork and knife. The jus sauce and caramelized onions were the perfect mixture with the Gruyère cheese. We also had the foie gras, squid risotto, and Scottish trout. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but I look forward to it next time. Perfect spot for a date night.

Okay... I know this is only my second Miami Spice but it may be my favorite. This place is the definition of luxury. Yes, we upgraded to the croute for $30 but I promise that the portions make it all worth it !!! Plus! It's the only time where you can opt out of a dessert and end up with a cheese plate instead. The staff was incredibly attentive and had great timing between each dish. This is a place that I'll definitely go back to. My favorite dishes were the sea bream crudo and the beef Wellington.

Amazing experience!! We decided to try the Miami Spice for a birthday celebration. They treated us with exquisite care and amazing food. We started with two drinks that were amazingly crafted. Everything had an amazing blend of flavors. Taste buds I didn't know I had were stimulated. We started with an amuse-bouche. Then had amazing appetizers. The visuals looked like a piece of art or something only seen in on television. We had the pork and beef Wellington upgrade which did not disappoint. I highly recommend the beef Wellington. You can cut it with a spoon it was so tender. Amazing!! The desserts were an experience. I don't have my full sense of smell and taste to judge the desserts well, but all five major taste were included in the dessert (salt, sweet, savory, sour, and spicy). Also, it had many texture variations such as creamy, crunchy, and icy. It was interesting to say the least. To end our meal they brought us "Leo Envy" a drink to celebrate my friend's lioness birthday. Awesome service to say the least. The atmosphere was elegant and had a speakeasy vibe. Highly recommend!!

This place is easy to miss because its location right now is difficult and constricted due to construction. But in my case it was highly recommended, so, it was not a detour, it was a destination. For starters the atmosphere is subdue and reserve. No fancy decor or glitz and glam but a refined sophistication, almost old manhattan, but with a miami glare. Black subway tiles, asymmetrical mirrors in bar, a touch of wicker in the lamps.... Thats it simple. We were greeted by the top 100 bartender in miami, he is young with a story to tell for every drink. I have a restricted taste, not refined exactly but established and classical, so getting to me its hard but he did well to my other half. The Little Habana drink was a sweet smokey woody whiskey and rum, well paired with the mushroom appetizer and the sauce; a well pace drink that you could chill with and eat your next meal. We sat by the bar, keeping up with Juan Carlos spanish accent and he's "spectacular" descriptions of every plate. He knew exactly when to serve and when to clear the space for the next course. The service was seamless and it did not divert from the experience. We ordered the gnocchi and the Foie Gras for main courses and two side dishes, mash potatoes and leek with peanut sauce. We were so static with each dish that we gasped in awe. Honestly each plate had its own distinct taste but the cohesiveness was butter and only butter. (as it should be) Like Laura, our amazing sweet hostess and Juan Carlos said; I go home smelling like butter every day and I love it. The team at Brasserie Laurel is authentic, professional, friendly and truly love their job and good cuisine. If you miss this place go back. Turn around, not because of the Michelin star...but because is really great and completely unassuming.

Came here for a friends birthday today and was surprised that I hadn't seen this cute French brasserie before. Located in the heart of Downtown, Brasserie Laurel is a modern French restaurant that serves all kinds of classic dishes, like French onion soup, croque madame and steak frites with a bit of a Miami twist if you ask me. I decided to go with the Miami Spice menu since we were their at an early hour (11 am) and the menu was limited. My friend and I both got the Miami Spice and decided to divide and concur. Which led us to order the following: - escargot - French onion - croque madame - potato rosti - beignets - raspberry sorbet My favorites were the French onion soup and the potato rosti -- both had amazing flavors and richness in every bite. The escargot was also delicious, the bread was a bit too crisp for my taste but overall good. As for the croque madame, it wasn't a favorite of mine, the Dijon mustard was a bit overpowering and the bread was soggy. Dessert was 5/5! I can't wait to check this spot out again for their dinner or happy hour menu!

I came for Miami Spice 2023, and the service and food were both disappointing. I knew not to have my hopes too high due to the reviews, but I had no idea how bad the french onion soup was going to be.- french onion soup: wayyyyyyyyy too salty and has an odd taste to it. I genuinely felt nauseous after eating this and it ruined my stomach for the rest of the meal. The cheese and bread were great but the soup portion was awful.- potato rosti: the potatos were crispy and good, but I had difficulty eating the eggs due to how nauseous I felt after the french onion soup (not the fault of the eggs)- beignets: got those to go and they were delicious later that day when I regained my appetiteService was very slow throughout the meal with regards to taking orders, refilling waters, and coming with the next course. The ambiance was good with lots of natural lighting and high ceilings.

Best burger I've ever had in this cute little date night gem. Ambiance. This place is all French European charm. It's a swanky date night spot. Food. Highly quality French cuisine. Fancy food that will not disappoint. So many places in Miami are over priced fine dining that do not deliver or quality or service. This place delivers! It's a little pricey, but worth every penny. My personal favorites are the mushrooms and the burger. Best burger I've ever had! Everything I've tried here is exceptional. Compliments to the chefs. No bad options on this menu. Dessert is awesome too. Come in and eat now! You're welcome.Pro tips. -- There's a cute cigar bar literally next door, El Vecino.
