Stopped by here for a late night bite and drink on Wednesday. It's tucked away and very hole in the wall vibes. But plenty of parking and pretty large interior space.I sat at the bar and started with a vodka soda ($5 on wednesdays) and the garlic sauteed shrimp and buffalo wings- extra hot.Food was typical bar quality- salty, tasty, and greasy. I also got a glass of prosecco. Bartender was nice and friendly, attentive and checked in on refills regularly. If you're looking for a standard no-frills, probably filled with locals dive spot, you can add this to your list.

Love this place. If you are looking for a bar that serves food this is the spot. Local neighborhood vibe with events and live music. Wings here are great but I have not had anything that was not good yet. The bartenders are awesome, even on those busy nights you don't feel forgotten or missed.

I'm giving Bralies five stars for their customer service and hours of operation. Thank you for being open on Sunday later than most places in the area. The food wasn't bad either the bartender, Tennessee is an absolute sweetheart and knows her product. The place doesn't look like much Might I say it has a towny local bar vibe but it's one that welcomes strangers. I felt kinda at home here. There are two pool tables in the back. Bring your quarters and several games are playing on the the TV's. I picked up two Philly cheesesteaks w/ some onion rings and sweet potato fries I can't complain or maybe I was just really hungry. Hard pass on the corn bites but the sweet cinnamon sauce was good.

In town for business and found this neighborhood bar to watch football. The staff was super friendly and took great care of all the customers. The place was packed and everyone was enjoying the afternoon. Huge selection of bar food and some great drink specials. I will definitely be back for more.

Hit up this local spot after a meeting at the south regional library. I drove past this place for 2.5 years. Loud country music on the speakers. Pretty dark. Friendly bartender however, I would suggest ordering a beer. Typical bar food was ordered; I did not partake. I think I'll keep driving by.

The first and only time I got wings here, and I ended up with fruit flies and gnats filling my house. My partner and I got dinner here and I ordered more wings than I normally would because their prices are great. I got home and ate four wings, then put the rest of the wings in the microwave so that I could eat them later. I've never had this happen before, but I opened the microwave a few hours later and it was FULL OF FRUIT FLIES. I freaked out and threw them away in the dumpster outside but the fruit flies permeated my house. My only conclusion is that it had the bugs in it when it was prepped and served to me. I was disgusted and will never go to Bralie's again. It took me weeks to kill all the flies.

THE GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD BAR WE'VE BEEN NEEDING.We moved to Durham 1.5 years ago from S. Francisco. Errands have led me past Brailie's a couple of times and I was wondering what kind of place it is.Have to say I assumed it was likely "rough" -- and not a place that a couple of 50+ year olds like us would enjoy. Having said that, I enjoy meeting ALL kinds of people -- as long as they are "good-hearted." Then I read the reviews here and elsewhere that said Railie's is a very friendly place, reasonable, prices, good food. I have always thought one of the necessities of life is having a good "dive bar" nearby. By that, I mean a place that has no pretensions, is welcoming, has good "pub food" and drink at reasonable prices... a place that kind of has a "neighborhood center" vibe...where people enjoy handing out together -- and aren't there just to get drunk or start fights or "pick up" someone.SO -- I convinced my husband to pop in mid-day on Memorial Day. He was a bit leery as we pulled in -- but I kept telling him the reviews were good. WELL -- we LOVED IT! Miss Tennessee was at the bar and we now know why people call her out by name. She's sets the tone for the place -- open, friendly, warmly welcoming. She was the only one working -- taking orders, making drinks and delivering food. She rocks. It's large space and there were maybe 20 people scattered around in the big front area that was visible to me (it goes back a way -- think they have cornhole and maybe a pool table, etc.) We wanted to try a burger -- i came on a HUGE beautiful bun that really seemed "bakery quality" and was about 7" wide and had "all the trimmings." We drank a couple of vodka-tonics and they were big and the price was good. THE CROWD: again, we were in mid-afternoon on a National Holiday, so it may not be typical. But it was "diverse" -- mostly people over 30, all colors (we're Caucasian). A few tables behind us there was a group of 4 nicely dressed people -- a woman of maybe 50 and (what we learned were) her boyfriend, her nephew and her boyfriend's son (African-American). The music playing were standards "oldies" -- old-school R&B, etc. We noticed that the woman and her nephew (NOT drunk at all) had gotten up and were dancing and singing (not obnoxiously) a song that was obviously a favorite -- gesturing at certain parts-- like we did as kids to "Stop in the name of love" by the Supremes, etc. I always like seeing people having a good time like that -- it's infectious. When they finished, I clapped and she came over and we introduced ourselves and had a fun chat for a few minutes.I have only been in a couple of places in my life where people felt comfortable enough to just get up like that (when they weren't drunk) and just sing and dance and have a good time. I think it's really special and speaks highly of the place.Tennessee, the barkeep, told us that they usually have live music on Fridays and Saturdays and we intend to go check it out this weekend or next. I hope it has the same vibe on Friday because we surely felt like we'd found a great "local"!
