Lucy's American Tavern

Second time here. First time was before COVID and I had come in for brunch. I remember then that both the service and food were good. This time was even better. The environment itself is both relaxing and upbeat. We were greeted and sat by a funny and pleasant gentleman. Both he and our sever checked on us throughout our long stay to assure we were comfortable. Our main courses were excellent. The Lucy Burger was requested medium rare and came out PERFECT, something I'm finding is becoming a rarity. It's a huge burger and can be shared. The quesadilla was deliciously smokey. Not pictured: the very delicious and crispy Lucy's Famous Wings. They had that old school vinegary-buffalo flavor. So freakin' good.

I really like this place for 2 things:French toast sticks & Brisket NachosI really can't stand this about this place:Brunch only on weekends until 3pmI have eaten here several times and usually order the same thing, I have never had a bad food experience outside of my french toast sticks being undercooked (that one time) which the waiter AND manager more than made up for. Weekends are nuts, so make a reservation!!!! Parking is even nuttier, so carpool, commute or get towed. The vibe is pretty much your average sports bar, just with plants and fresh air.

Very large, super cute sports bar with lots of tvs. I did not taste every meal but my friends gave me their statements: -Egg Benny: simple, original, very good. Home fries were not seasoned but he enjoyed them-Cobb: simple, original, and tasty. Not enough of the other toppings but very generous with the chicken -Tuna Tartar: 11/11, absolutely incredible, fully recommend. She didn't want the meal to end. -Steak and Avocado Salad: steak was cooked great and they were very generous with the avocado. I think I would have just preferred a different dressing, something creamier.

Celebrated a birthday, party of 9. Excellent service, considering it was the top of the week and it wasn't crowded. Memphis rub and Carolina gold wings n tenders were delicious. Buffalo dip was good. Burgers thick and juicy. I asked for a plain cheeseburger with mayo n ketchup and they through in a ton of red onions for good measure. Not what I would like to smell like for the next several hours. There was food stuck on some of the plates we were given. Our server quickly swapped them out for clean dishes when we brought it to her attention. They ran out of several liquor brands however, the drinks and shots ordered were still good! I'd return as it was a nice vibe and the food was tasty.

Sadly I've tried to consistently come back 3 more times and it's been so disappointing. It's a super popular spot to the locals and it's always packed. Thankfully wait times have never been too terrible like 30-40 min waits. Everything we got was so bland. The in yo face breakfast sandwich itself wasn't too bad because I enjoyed the natural flavor of things and the buns were super soft but again no additional flavor even though it was supposed to have aioli. For my boyfriend's bowl, it was literally 90% potato with some bits of bacon and Brussel. They also didn't even ask how the egg would be cooked. It was over hard. As for the burrito, just egg mainly and no flavor.

I wanna get the bad out of the way first: parking is a literal nightmare, and the service for weekend brunch is a little disconnected. But really, those are my only beefs. Our big ass starter of guac-meets-elote works remarkably well, especially on warm, thick, freshly fried tortilla chips. And I was a total fan of my fried chicken sando with hot honey and an okay slaw. I rubbernecked more than few boozy coffee drinks and the chicken and waffles that walked by, giving me a bit of FONOR (fear of not ordering right) but all the more reason to return. In an Uber. Because the parking is pure hell.

It was catch-up time with a friend so we decided on Lucy's for some eats. The place is very spacious and noisy with people talking and the music blasting in the background. We came during lunchtime and there was a good amount of tables open, but we were told to wait 5-10 minutes for a table. After being seated, our friendly waitress greeted us, brought us our drinks, and took our orders. My friend got the farmer's brunch bowl, I didn't taste it so I can't comment. However, the big chicken little was alright. The special sauce tasted similar to Big Mac sauce, so this is a chicken mac. I did like the Italian eggroll, which is an Italian sub-filling in eggroll form. To sum up, Lucy's a great place for groups, the food isn't outstanding, it's your typical approachable tavern food. Also, parking can be difficult, so get there early or be patient when looking for a space. We had to circle the street a few times before parking spaces opened up.

Shout out to Jefferson and the daytime bartender, didn't get his name, for checking multiple channels and finding the Manchester United game for me today. Customer service at its best.

Bread on both our sandwiches were stale. The burger was rare even though we asked for medium. The chicken sandwich was dried out and lacked flavor. Our pasta was soupy. Everything was way overpriced, especially for the lack of quality and freshness of the food.The chicken tenders, however, were wonderful.

The food and staff are excellent. Everything I've tried there has been great. The only thing is it is way too loud!!!
