Order the antipasto. It was great. The pizza is also good. The figs and grissini (bread sticks) were especially good. I ordered the pomodoro with sausage - the sausage and nonna's sauce were great. My wife ordered the margherita. The restaurant itself looks like a hole in the wall. It has perhaps 10 tables. But it is worth a detour (to use michelin criteria)

So today De LaPosta had a 20% pizza discount. Great, but they failed to be properly staffed for the event and its possible popularity.First of all, the pizza was delicious. I cannot take credit from what was a delicious pizza pie. That said, part of the culinary experience is the appearance, presentation. I ordered a margherita pizza with added nduja sausage. A pizza should try to make sure that every slice has all of its ingredients. All slices had tomato sauce and cheese but only 4 of my slices had basil and only 5 had the nduja sausage. My biggest complaint was not the pizza because it was delicious. The complaint is that I was quoted in writing a 45 minute pickup time. (45 minutes? That's a bit much for 2 small pizzas). It actually took 55 minutes!!! Further aggravating was seeing the pizza maker (Latin looking guy with gold chain outside his chef jacket) working at a snail's pace! Seriously, he could not care if he made one pizza an hour...so wish I had videotaped his wanton, selfish work manner! [I am Latino, I have worked in restaurants, there is no excuse for a lazy chef!]. Secondly, to the two ladies, hostess and someone else, please don't make excuses that the delays are because your restaurant has an offer...you should have planned accordingly...but for the success of your restaurant, get rid of the lazy chef!!!

Got takeout today because they're taking down the outdoor seating. They estimated 30 mins to cook two pizzas - it took 40 mins. One marinara and one potato plus Brussels sprouts. Very interesting but too dry without a sauce.

AN ABSOLUTELY MUST DO! 5 STARS! THE MARGARITA PIZZA @ da LaPosta WAS VOTED THE BEST PIZZA IN BOSTON FOR 2023. IT TASTES JUST LIKE THE PIZZA IN ITALY! Every year in June pizza fans from all over the country descend upon City Hall Plaza in Downtown Boston for the largest pizza festival in the USA. It's an annual Weekend Event with FREE ADMISSION! Over 20,000 people attended this past year. You purchase tickets & get samples of all different kinds of pizza from all over the Boston area. Then it's judging time. It's not some restaurant critic but hardcore pizza fans from all over the county who cast a vote for their favorite pizza in Boston. You can read my review of The Boston Pizza Festival for more details. Unfortunately by the time we got to the da LaPosta booth they were completely sold out! They were all very happy because y they won! So I had to put it on my To Do List & visit the restaurant in person at a later time. da LaPosta is located in Newton, Massachusetts about a half an hour outside of Boston. There's metered parking up and down the street and if you go on the side streets a few blocks over there's free street parking. I went on a Monday & accidentally stumbled upon this UNBELIEVABLE BARGAIN! INSIDE TIP They call it Margherita Mondays & instead of serving the famous cocktail, they serve their Award Wining Best in Boston Margherita Pizza for get this $10.00. They said it's not a Deal; IT'S A STEAL! It's regularly $20 but on Mondays it's 1/2 off @ l $10,00. They're absolutely right. It s a Steal 6 slices of Pizza for $10.00. That's less than $2.00 a slice. WOAH!! Now you can get this for both Dine In or Take Out! I got it for Take Out. It was DELICIOUSSSSS! The Hard Core Pizza Fans were right to give them The People's Choice Award! So if you're in the Boston area, you've got to check out the restaurant out. But especially hit this place up on Mondays. $10 bucks for the best pizza in Boston. A STEAL! It's a very nice sized modern restaurant with large windows & the have a bar inside as well. They have a full service menu with salads, appetizers, pizzas, main courses & desserts. I can't comment on my of that because I just got the Margherita Pizza that's all. They'll also be @ the Boston Pizza Festival again this year defending their tile & tying to squash the competition. LOL! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!

Life is short F...it up! Family, Flavor, FriendsWood fired pizza and Italian was the purpose of this evening. This place is a neighbor spot with a nice bar good ambiance attentive service. But you and I both know it's about the food and the first impression. Looking for the that mmmmm pause and reflect moment. Most Italian places offer bread, this one did not so we started w the Focaccia w olive oil, the bread was cold like it just came out of the fridge the oil had a nice flowery taste. For pies we got the recommended meatball and the mushroom. We are got the Bolognese pasta. For some reason when the pies came out it did not look promising ( u be the judge). The pies were cooked well not undercooked. Having read the good raves I was excited to reflect the same experience. Unfortunately it did not, the pies were blands and missing that xfactor. The Bolognese followed suit. Maybe I had expected too much. Overall mediocre at best.

Really wonderful Italian food in Newton. I've been several times now and everything I've tried has been plated beautifully and tastes delicious. It's pricey but not overpriced as I feel like you get what you pay for. Known for the pizza but their Ceasar Salad is particularly incredible. I've also enjoyed their pastas and apps. While it kills me to pay $16 for an Espresso Martini it's truly one of the best around and comes with chocolate covered espresso beans on the side! Down a star simply because the service has been hit or miss. While they are always friendly they can be rather slow and at this price point I do find myself expecting a bit more. I do love sitting at their bar or even better - their pizza bar!

Knew that da LaPosta won the Boston Pizza Festival and wanted to try it out! My partner and I ordered the margherita pizza, bianca pizza, and squid ink pasta alla chitarra -TASTE: 5/5 - would come back to try more pizzas! The margherita had a great balance of mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil. Fave parts of the bianca were the figs, of course, and the pecorino & grana padano cheeses. Finally, the mussels, tomatoes, and garlic in the squid ink pasta were excellentTEXTURE: 4/5 - the Neapolitan-style pizzas were thin and crisp w fluffy crusts PRICE: 3/5 - pizzas are $18-30 and pastas $22-28. Our total came out to $80, which was pretty steep for lunch SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - was pleasantly surprised by the number of mussels in the pasta. Wish there were more figs, or a fig jam instead, on the bianca. Pizzas are 12" personal size and cut into six slices. We brought home a couple slices for laterSERVICE: 4/5 - we walked in at 1pm on a Friday and a handful of tables were occupied. Our waitress gave us recommendations and, though she appeared to be the only wait staff present, did her best to be attentiveATMOSPHERE: 5/5 - clean, modern decor w lovely patio seating outside PARKING: 4/5 - I was impressed by the amount of metered street parking on Washington St in Newtonville

Have wanted to try for some time. Ordered the homemade ricotta which does not come with bread, so we had to order the focaccia in order to have something to eat the ricotta with. Both were good but it's kind of a scam to get you to order two items which came to $20. Then we shared a margarita pizza 12" and added sausage. It was good, very thin crust (need to eat with silverware) but seemed pricey at $24.The room has huge windows which we were sitting near and it was freezing (February). The server was friendly and efficient.I am giving 3 stars because it is quite expensive for what you get, but everything tasted good - it just wasn't worth $48.

I would probably go 3.5 if I could. The bartender was great and the drink was creative and tasty. The place is definitely a bit of a scene particularly for its location. In addition to the tasty cocktail, I got the sausage and pepper pizza. The flavor was great, the top of the pizza was great, the bottom was drastically underdone to the point of wet and floppy.

On our 1st visit, we called for Eggplant Parmigiana for starters and a Margherita pizza between two people and they both tasted so good! On our 2nd visit, we called for Gnocchi Verde and Margherita pizza. The pizza was really good again, but the gnocchi was weird. The cheese in there was the stinky kind of cheese and the portion size was really small, for the price at least. We did let our server know about the gnocchi, and he said some people really like it, some don't. Just a tad disappointed with our visit this time. I understand this isn't a fine dine restaurant, but despite paying more than $50 for our meal of two, excluding tips, the food was okay and we were still left hungry so had to go to another place to eat.
