On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, this was a solid "Meh". It is hard to justify a close to $185 tab for 3 entrees, 3 drinks, and a appetizer. Very overpriced. $20 margarita was not worth it. The $4 Kitchen charge (that also gets taxed as food!!) is a bit much.Service was good. Food was nothing spectacular. Would I go back? Not a chance. Yes, it is a block off Newbury St and near the Pru so lots of tourists and such. I do not get all the hype. Much better places to go FOR SURE.

Summary:The food and drinks that my party ordered was consistently below average. Avoid unless it's the only Mexican restaurant you can have and you REALLY want Mexican.Drinks:Margaritas were really off - very blandApps:Ceviche was descentFood:Presentation was good but flavors were bland; uninterestingDessert:Churros were ok, but the chocolate sauce was Hershey's chocolate syrup; not great.Flan was way too softMy Party's thoughts:Nobody loved their food, but someone said their tacos were decentService:Probably the beat part, but average ishDecor: decor was nice enough, but the place was humid and smelled moldy, and the temperature control was weird (varies by seating).Rating:2 Stars (Below Average)

Absolutely incredible food and drink that live up the hype! The margaritas were strong and flavorful, and the food was a home run. The guac and salsa were up there with some of the best I've ever had - flavored to perfection, and so fresh. The chicken fajitas were also phenomenal - huge portions, lots of flavor, and presented beautifully. Although it's a bit on the pricier side, it's worth every penny to have some of the best Mexican food you'll ever eat!

Very nice place! It's down an alleyway, and the entrance is behind a large door with Spanish tiles. It looks like a speakeasy entrance. The place surprises you at every corner with a new space; it doesn't look that large when you first enter. I had a delicious beef enchilada with an amazing mole sauce.

Our hotel said Casa Romero is the best Mexican Soeakeasy in Boston- they were spot on. Great location, chill atmosphere and excellent service. Casa has a great selection of tequilas- what an atmosphere! Salsa and Guacamole was excellent- great flavor on Fajitas and the drinks were awesome! Highly Recommend when u come to Boston

Friday night dinner with my Latina posse. Good food. Waiter was great. Cheesy decor but goes well with the place. - Chips with salsa and guac: Delicious (finally guac with enough salt and lime)- Al pastor taco plate: Delicious- Piñata Margarita cocktail (extra spicy by request): Waiter was skeptical when I told him I wanted it SPICY. I don't blame him. Boston doesn't really do spicy. I'm always underwhelmed by the spicy drinks in this city. But he and the bartender DELIVERED. It was perfect. The place is is definitely on the pricy side. I'd easily have paid 30-50% less for all this in LA. $15 for chips, guac, and salsa is kinda hilarious. But also hard to fault them for this when it's back bay and they know it's hard to find good tacos in Boston.

To eat, we ordered the guacamole/salsa, shrimp fajitas, & al pastor tacos. All of which exceeded expectations! Everything was very flavorful and fresh. For to drink (; we had a glass of Chardonnay and the piñata margarita which were both great. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. We thought the speakeasy feeling entrance was a nice touch too. Overall we were very impressed and will be recommending to others!

My friend and I wanted some Mexican food in Boston and walked in here on a Saturday night, even though it was crowded were able to be seated right away. Upon stepping foot inside we immediately noticed the cute decor and ambiance. They had some great music playing and our server was very friendly. The menu wasn't too big but had everything you could want. I would recommend the enchiladas. Definitely come here, great vibe.

The food was delicious and fresh. Would definitely come back for the steak fajitas and the mushroom quesadilla. The guacamole and salsa dip was very fresh with just the right amount of spice.
