I've been a fan of Big Mike's BBQ from the beginning while living in the Raleigh area. I now live in Climax, which makes this location a shorter drive. It's all about the taste Clearly, the prep of the meat with the right amount of seasoning & smoke make a difference. The beans, potato salad or Mac & cheese are all just as flavorful. The smell draws you in, but the flavor brings you back. Big Mike & Mike Freeman, Big Mike's Pit Master in Pitsboro, are both masters at their craft. Both Mike & Rich, the bartender, at this location, were attentive & made us feel welcome. Delicious food, great drinks & friendly service. Lots to appreciate here. Thanks GuysMustang USMC Retired

Located in the old Pizza Hut building, our group decided it was time to give them a try because they posted online they going to start doing a Bourbon flight. Well, they decided not too. Some in the group wanted ribs. Well, guess what, they were out of ribs at ~6pm on a Friday night.So we all ordered. I will say this, the service was friendly, informative and pretty fast. Talking for the group here the wings were OK but a little salty. Two said the egg rolls were good. Another enjoyed the burger special of the week.I had the chopped pork and the brisket. The BBQ pork needed to be sauced to be any good. The brisket while tasty was dry. One friend also had the two meat tray with different meats and was not impressed. Saying the collards were salty and the best thing on the tray was the hush puppies. I agree about the collards but they weren't half bad. The best I had on my tray was a side of smoked potato salad. It's a problem when a side out shines the meat.Hopefully, they'll make it in this seemingly cursed location. (Several restaurants have come and gone) But everyone in our party agreed that we won't be back.

While visiting a friend in Raleigh, she took us here to fulfill my request for southern barbecue, Carolina-style. The flavors of the vinegar on the table did not disappoint, although I got the burnt ends of brisket, which ended up overpowered by sweetness. The sides were tasty. Ambience was cheery, which is appropriate since we are in the friendly South and this place is also known for brewing small batches of beer. Fun fact: they will let you try before you decide. I only thought that happened on tiny spoons at ice cream shops.

This is a country music BBQ joint with Formica tables, friendly attentive staff, and decent to good BBQ. I am a Texas and low country fan, so their sauces are bland for me. Portions are generous, smoke is good, and they put jalapenos on stuff which helps with the spice level. Today I had their version of poutine. Fries, cheese, shredded BBQ, jalapenos, and pickled onions. Filling and good. Took home a pound of burnt ends. It's in the fridge now. I sampled a bite and it's good, but I will spice it up a bit with my personal sauce featuring chipotle, Dijon mustard, and vinegar. In the past good luck with friend okra and collard greens sides. Recommended.

The food and service was great. The burnt ends were some of the best I ever had and the ribs were delicious. The portion size was large and needed to bring some home. My only knock is the sides were basic.

The service was impeccable, The last time me and my coworkers visited this establishment. We have ate here for the past month on Thursday for lunch. The smash burger special in my opinion is top notch. It is pricey for Pittsboro but you get what you pay for. This Thursday I got the brisket my coworkers got the wings special. Garlic/parm wings. The cook actually brought us our food. He realized that my brisket had stayed under heat light waiting on the wings. He brought me a fresh serving on the house. I was very impressed just hope this place makes it in Pittsboro.
