Big Apple Bodega

This was straight-up bad, unfortunately. We had high hopes because of the good reviews but the food was of poor quality and what we received was not made well. What we got: *Bacon, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich: I was excited that I might finally find a proper East Coast-style breakfast sandwich but this was so far from it. Super salty to the point of inedible, the kaiser roll untoasted with a Kraft slice... It was only $6, and still not worth it. *The Sinatra Hash: Previous photos showed a bowl of actual hash potatoes and the serving looked much bigger than what we received. Which was a small portion of premade hash brown with an egg and a little bit of chopped beef. The chopped beef was unremarkable, it could have been anything. Topped with another Kraft slice. Also super salty, it made my mouth tingle. This was $15 LOL We downed what we could with a full liter of water. Maybe our mistake was not getting a classic chopped beef? But one would expect all the dishes to have at least some redeeming qualities. Or at the very least, be edible. This place was not for us.

A perfect place for lunch. Quick and friendly locally owned business. The food is phenomenal, havent had myself a true chopped cheese but I could imagine they are on par. The owner is from NYC and is there often, always friendly.The outdoor patio is pretty with lots of plants, and you cant miss the yellow building with graffiti on the side. Inside is small but never too busy. The only thing I would say is it can be a little pricey... however, for the quality you cannot beat it.

DAMN GOOD!!! That's the first thing that came to mind when I think about The Sinatra I had a few hours ago! Awesome concept direct from the Big Apple, the Chopped Cheese sandwich. I used to have these when my boy & I would visit NYC in the 90s, and this one was even better that I remembered! They have 4 Chopped Cheese sandwiches on the menu, and a few special ones too. That's what I like about a restaurant, do one thing & do it well, you don't need a hundred menu items. The restaurant itself was clean, and new looking. They've been open since June 1st, and next week (9/29), they're having a block party/Welcome with Molecule Coffee(Nextdoor). The rolls, where do I begin....they're EXCELLENT, especially for the Chopped Cheese sandwich. The ground beef was EXCELLENT also, it had a semi-sweet taste, and was reddish, it also had some sautéed onions in it...I have to ask them next time what they do to it. Topped with American Cheese, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes. This is an iconic sandwich & I wouldn't have known about it, but I grabbed a flyer at Reefer Madness Dispensary, which is about 2.5 blocks away. I'll definitely be back to Big Apple ASAP to try another Chopped Cheese!

Came here after seeing pics on Yelp! Fast and friendly service, pretty solid sandwich and nice patio. Funny, I wanted the Sammy to be more like a cheesesteak and this reminded me of a chopped up burger- needed more grease in my opinion- I bet when they are busy it changes the dynamic of the sandwich!

I am obsessed with this place. Chopped cheese sandwiches and varieties of the original. Small indoor area but large patio area with plenty of seating. They also serve dole whip!! I was shocked by how great the service was for a fast casual place. They came outside and collected trash/dirty dishes, and asked how we were doing. This will definitely become a regular visit for me!

How cute and yummy is Big Apple Bodega?! VERY! Husband loved the Sinatra. I copied and was not disappointed! Sandwiches were huge, but I rather have leftovers than share so it works out. Fries were steak fry like but better with salty seasoning that hit the spot. Get a giant pickle. Super nice counter service with fast, friendly faces. Great indoor vibes on a football Sunday w cute patio area too. We'll be back

Big Apple Bodega just opened about two months ago right on S Broadway and are serving authentic chopped cheese. Their menu is full of delicious sounding sandwiches and I am so glad I was able to try them. They have a 4.9 rating on Google and it is so well reserved. The bread was soft, fresh, and pillowy. The meat was seasoned well and perfectly cooked. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly on site. You have to check them out. The vibe is welcoming, casual, and they have a very nice patio. MY ORDER: The Sinatra (their OG offering) with fries and watermelon dole whipBEST BITE: the fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned BUT the star of the show is their chopped cheese. Perfect bite! It was cheesy, full of flavor and made me a fan!

I read that Big Apple Bodega had opened a brick and mortar restaurant and had to try it out. At 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon there wasn't a crowd. I would imagine they get busy for happy hour or regular lunch/dinner times. The restaurant has some very cool New York themed decor, a very cute, small patio area on the side and a couple of picnic tables outside in back by the parking lot. We were greeted by the owner, Brian, who took our order and made our food. He let us know that each sandwich is made to order so we could make customizations. Brian has been in the food industry since his teen years and his experience shows. Because the sandwiches are pretty large, we split a Sinatra - their classic - and an order of potato skins that were like a very tasty cross between chips and fries. Our sandwich didn't have the same type of bun that's shown on their website but it was very good.I will definitely be back because they have so many more varieties of chopped cheese sandwiches that I'd love to try.

Wow! Just wow! Food was amazing! Service was even better!! I had the Empire Steak with fries and my son had the Sinatra. We couldn't resist splitting a Dirty Water Dog. I'm so stuffed!! I'll be back! I'll tell my friends! And the awesome people at the register and in the kitchen were amazing!! So happy we stopped! Nothing but love from this Denver foodie!!

What a gem! Excellent service!Did you know The Sinatra is only $12 M-F from 11-2? SCORE!My only regret was not getting the vanilla soft serve or dole whip.
