Bar Kaiju

It would be an understatement to say this bar has an incredible program. They are very much the bleeding edge of new mixology in a town brimming with many bars aspiring to be as innovative. The concept is fun, if not a bit heady, but the gist of the experience is to let your bartender guide you to your landing spot. No conventional cocktails lurk here - this is largely terra incógnita for your eyes, nose and palate. They can certainly point you in the direction of "something in the vein of" classics, tiki and aperitifs, but you won't find the ingredients they concoct in their laboratory - nor the cocktail specs - anywhere else.A unique, if not quirky, location for the bar awaits you in their temporary digs at The Citadel, but they are certainly deserving of permanence in this community, one way or another. Kudos to Marco and the rest of the team behind the stick.

What a fun location! I came here with family - one of which is a pretty big Godzilla fan. We had a great time. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and let us take our time as we combed through the menu to pick our drinks. The decor is cute and the drinks are honestly a work of art. Never would I have thought to order a drink (Guije) with mojo criollo in it - but it works!

Pros: fantastic atmosphere, top notch libations, fun decor, excellent service. I tried three drinks and they were 10/10. Cons: pricey, it's Miami after all!Can't wait to return!

One of the most memorable cocktails I have ever had. The "speakeasy" is located above a food hall, which allows you to easily grab food. The monster-themed menu inside a cloth binder is very reminiscent of my Yu-Gi-Oh! card holder from childhood and super cool. Fantastic service all around with a free shot upon arrival. It's obvious that a ton of creativity and thought went into every aspect of building this place

Okay so you know I love speakeasies. I was unprepared to experience one just 5 minutes from my airbnb! My friend and I took a break from Carnival life to experience something unique... and slightly nerdy. We drove to The Citadel food hall's parking lot, and no spoilers, but I saw the speakeasy entrance almost immediately, not even knowing what I was looking for. You'll know it when you see it :). It was a red color with lots of cool kaiju stuff, and you could overlook the entire food hall (and see and hear the DJ crankin'). The bar had space, since we got there not long after 7:00 -- that's when they open!I had two very unique cocktails. My first one was the Sinsimito AKA "The Savage", which had Patron, Tepache, Amaro and spiced corn foam. Let me tell you -- that corn foam was DELICIOUS!!! The second one was definitely dessert -- it had mini french toast crunch cereal pieces on top of the ice, and there was biscotti-flavored liqueur in it, among other things. It was called the Taotie. It was deeeeeeeliicious!! On top of the taste, I loved how passionately the bartenders talked about the cocktails and the ingredients that went into each one after they provided them. The overall vibe was great, and I cannot wait to return this place when I'm in Miami again.

You pay for what you get and yea they aren't cheap but the flavor profile and quality and service proves why .just overall creative and awesome .Mixeology at its core with great execution

Love this bar! Been here 2x before but forgot to put in the review. Excellent service and unique drinks. People at the bar are friendly and the owner is super nice! Miami native btw! I had the Godzilla cocktail and my date got the Chupacabra cocktail. Had a great time. Hopefully these guys can open up their own bar location down south.

Wow! I had no expectations going in here (much like the rest of the Citadel) but I was blown away. The area is actually pretty spacious with a seating area outside the main bar area but the bar itself is intimate and dimly lit, with old Godzilla movies playing in the background and lots of kaiju themed decor. The menu is a highlight, with inspired cocktail creations themed after famous movie monsters like King Kong and Godzilla. The bartenders were knowledgeable and nice to talk to. Our cocktails were delicious. Would definitely go back.

I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was with Bar Kaiju. If you haven't been, stop what you're doing and pick a date to go and enjoy this amazing cocktail bar. Located in the Citadel, this spot is a monster-inspired cocktail bar that is serving up some VERY interesting drinks. The menu is so well thought out, with pages upon pages of drinks with stories that explain the why behind the cocktail and its flavor profiles.I opted for their version of the espresso martini - this really blew my mind because they put it through some sort of machine to remove the coloring of the cocktail ingredients so it comes served completely clear. It is a total mind game because while it looks like a bone dry regular martini, it tastes like coffee and what the espresso martini of my dreams would taste like. WILD!My friend got a cocktail that was tiki-inspired and had mojo and garlic in it. You'd think that would be gross, but it worked perfectly in here. You can tell they not only know what they are doing, but that they are super proud of their menu (as they should be). We had two servers help us, and both were so knowledgable about every drink and the flavors it got me and my friend excited to order our drinks. The bar seats about 12, but there is some lounge seating as well. I can't wait to go back and sit at the bar, I loooooved it here!

Interesting bar with attentive service! I loved the dark, intimate ambiance - it's great for a date or for a hangout with friends!Each drink has a backstory that your waiter tells you about, which I thought was a nice touch.The music is amazing and the drinks were delicious!
