Pockets Grille

Pockets Grille is super delicious. We received the best service by Mekala. Mekala has the best personality and could handle our jokes. I ordered the wings and they were perfect. Great flavor and highly recommend.Inside is super nice... don't forget to check out the drinks up front with the WD40 in there staying cool...(talking piece when asked what that means)Thank you Mekala... she treated us like VIP

This is as close to five stars as I can give a restaurant where you order at the counter, grab your own plastic ware, pour your own water and then come get your own food when they call your name. But if you don't mind you're your restaurant being run like a Starbucks, you'll love it here. A very friendly person took our order and checked on us regularly. So we felt cared for even though it was technically self serve. The catfish here was honestly better than Paw-Paw's in Bastrop. The hushpuppies were great. The fries were very lightly battered and very delicious. The tartar sauce was homemade. What's not to like? I mean, they were out of coleslaw that day, but that happens. The BLTA is the perfect BLT sandwich plus fresh avacado. I could spend two or three hours thinking about how to make it just slightly better and come back with nothing. It was the perfect BLTA, though and through. Stash IPAs rounded out the meal.The walls and ceiling are decorated with props and memorabilia from Hope Floats and other movies that were filmed here. It was a great meal, we enjoyed our time here, and we'll definitely be back. I prefer a wait staff to self serve. And I prefer to pay and make tip decisions at the end of a meal, instead of up front. But our experience here was otherwise flawless.

I Had the BLTA it's the perfect BLT with fresh avocado and came with fries that were lightly battered and I've heard the Tatar sauce was homemade I mean what's not to like and with a cold refreshing drink it rounds out the whole meal

Have a big variety of items to choose from if you can't find anything to eat you're not hungry. Friendly service and fast no long wait

Huge, diverse menu, including sandwiches, burgers, tex-mex, pizza and salads. The pizza crust was pretty good -- just the right amount of meal and tender. Tasty sauce, too. We also had the steak and mushroom quesadillas -- the salsa wasn't all that spicy, but had a good fresh flavor. Cool funky interior, a pleasant front porch exterior dining area, plus a kid's play place. The waitstaff are typical small town teens, meh, but the cooks are skillful. Clean dining area, bathrooms, and a fun salad bar that looks like the backend of an old chevy. Not too expensive, either.

We were in Smithville for a shopping trip to Consuela when we decided to get something for lunch. This restaurant has many options of entrees. I have the Taco Salad with chicken with salsa as dressing. The restaurant interior is decorated with memorabilia from movies filmed in Smithville. My favorites are the items from Hope Floats.

Anyone that gives pockets Grill less than five star simply doesn't understand with good food is. They're probably used to cheap fast food, probably something like soda and nuggets. Pocket grill is absolutely amazing. Let me tell you what, the burgers wings and pizza are top notch. I will go into detail below. Food: 5/5 The food here is simply amazing. I went with their seven dollar lunch special which was a burger with cheese some fries. The burger was grilled to perfection and very tasty. The fries were exceptionally well, very crispy crunchy. I had a bacon to my burger amazing. We also got some wings as an appetizer. Let me tell you what, the wings here are absolutely amazing. The wings are humongous, they are full of flavor and they are very fresh. Someone at my table got pizza and it look really good as well. That will be the next thing I try when I'm in town. I was blown away by Pockets Grille. I'm telling you right now anyone to give this place five stars less. Or less than five stars you simply don't know good food. This food is great. I will stop here every single time that I'm in Smithville. This will be put into my Smithville rotation. Or if you're on the way to Austin do yourself a favor and stop.Customer service: the customer service was absolutely great. The lady work on the cash register was very personable and took good care of us. The food came out quick. I really don't know how this place got a few bad reviews. Because I'm telling you right now it's a five-star experience.

Wow, fantastic burgers with a burger bar for fixings...my personal fav. Fabulous Rueben. Chili, pizzas, Salads, appetizers and even some tex-mex dishes. Great seasoning. True to Texas. All fresh of course. Generous portions. Solid family place. Cute location with movie memorabilia, including "Hope Floats"

Stopped in for lunch on a trip the other day. We got in before the lunch rush and were pleasantly surprised. The gal who took our order came over shortly afterwards to apologize. They were out of grilled chicken for the chicken salad my wife wanted, so she ordered a fried chicken sandwich. I ordered a catfish lunch.Sometimes a small place, off the beaten track can be great. That was the case here. Everything was freshly made. My catfish was fresh, not frozen. The fries were hot and crisp. The lettuce and tomatoes on my wife's sandwich were really fresh too. Additionally, everything tasted really good as well. Nice lunch!

Always good food, but no longer can eat foods fried in vegetable or seed oils. Not healthy! Beef Tallow would be great!
