We came to La Grange to enjoy small town casual ambience and attempt to escape the shopping crowds. Found Alejandras Mexican Grill. The Botana shareable appetizer is good. It features 2 quite spicy jalepeno fried shrimps, chalupas cut in half, beef fajita and cheese chalupa cut in half, cheesy chicken burrito cut in half, guac. Perfect shareable dish for 2. Chipotle beef enchilada is really good. Plato Loco was good with a fajita taco, 2 enchiladas and a well stuffed tamale. Food comes out quickly and blazin' hot so let it cool a bit before taking a bite! Their menu is really substantial. Great TexMex options that you will recognize at other places. But they do have some unique twists like pineapple fajitas and roasted jalepeno guac for example. Now for a small side note: the Salsa is ok. We would suggest perhaps going with a homemade version. The salsa is the first thing at the table so it can set the tone.... service is standard. Place is casual and clean. Overall 4 ... Very solid Tex Mex Ole!

I came to this establishment yesterday with Thing One after dropping off Thing Two at her final summer camp. Upon entering, we were greeted promptly and seated at a table that was half bused. I swept the debris aside with my hand once seated. After approximately 10 of being seated, the hostess brought water and chips and salsa to the table. My tap water had debris in it (see attached photo). After Thing One flagged the hostess down to exchange the water, another 15 minutes passes. At this juncture, Thing One and I intended to leave the establishment and pay for the water and chips and salsa and be on our way. As this occurred, a server approached the table and asked if we'd been helped. Only because Thing One was hungry, we placed an order. If left to me, I would have left the establishment as the restaurant was nearly empty and there was no reason for nearly half an hour to have elapsed with no service.ComidaNachos (large) with beef and chicken *please see the up-charge of $3.00 for "fajita" which is indicative of the mixed meats. The chicken for the nachos was flavorful yet dried out but the steak was charbroiled and flavorful. However, the nachos was missing the jalapeños. Shrimp TacosAfter 47 minutes in the establishment, FISH tacos come to the table, not shrimp as I ordered. At minute 52, the shrimp tacos arrive. The shrimp had a woody charbroiled flavor that was welcomed but somewhat overtaken by the sauce that adorned the taco. The Charro beans for this dish were absolutely lacking the authentic slow cooked flavor one comes to expect with a side like this.In summary, while the food was more of a 3.5, the absent service takes this establishment down. As many folks know, I am a stickler for service and the lack of service can make or break a business.

Had a late lunch with my daughter in La Grange, TX at Alejandra's Mexican Grill. While we ordered from the lunch menu, these are basically discounted dinner portions. We ordered the Chipotle Tacos and Golden Tacos which came with rice and charro beans. The free chips and salsa...very good and the salsa had just enough kick to enjoy. BOTH of the taco dishes were excellent, but the Chipotle Tacos were exceptional. The chipotle sauce really created a great flavor, the chicken tender, and the veggies crisp and fresh. The Charro Beans were some of the best we have ever had...and my daughter is not a fan of beans. Overall...great food and excellent service from our server Josue!

My family and I went to Alejandra's for lunch today and were blown away by the food we received. We started our visit with the guacamole Mexicano and we're in awe by not only the portion but the taste of the guacamole not to mention the delicious chicarrón that was placed inside. Next came our entrees which consisted of a beef taco dish, a chicken taco dish, and a dish with cheese enchiladas and beef fajita meat allowing for a wide range of what we were able to try. All the meets were wonderfully flavorful and very tender allowing for an amazing lunch today. The entrees came with a side of beans that were very tender and flavorful giving the sense that they have been slow cooked all day with care and love. We elected to finish our amazing meal their sopapillas and we were anything but disappointed, they came out a little flat but none the less delicious. We will be returning to Alejandra's in the future since in our minds it blew las Fuentes out of the water!!

We thought the 4.5 star rating was reliable, but tonight Alejandras was poor quality all around. It started with the red sauce. It was not very spicy and very much like canned tomatoes. Then we ordered spicy margaritas. The chamoy and tajin were the spiciest part of them. We ordered fajitas for two and they were fine when assembled but the meat alone was bland. And we ordered beef, but got mixed. Service was good at first, but our waiter soon forgot us. We asked for more green sauce (it's okay) and they brought us another red. When it was time to leave, we had to flag down our waiter who brought us the bill but said nothing about paying on our way out....so we waited for his return. He never looked our way again. We paid cash at the door and left. When we decided to check if we were charged for all beef fajitas, we realized they didn't give us a receipt. We won't be back.
