Aunt Bill’s Soul Food Cafe

The food, service and ambiance was 10+ and 5star all day every day. The service was a pleasant greeter with a smile and no disappointment on anything. Highly recommend this place aside from Mikki's Cafe. Hopefully in the near future they have meatloaf on the menu and the greens blend very flavorful. Everything was good, hats off to the wait staff (Ryan/Jay) and the owner/chef Kevin who would come and check on you and polite as ever. Be back Aunt Bill's!!!P.S.Forgot to mention, the food so good it'll make you go home and take a nap. I promise!!

Hands down the best Soul Food in the area. Partially due to lack of options but their food is also very good. I frequent this restaurant once a month, the service is is always great when dining it. It is somewhat questionable for to go orders as it typically takes a lot longer than expected or indicated when placing the order so there is usually a line of cars at the window or parked in the back of the restaurant, waiting for their food. All of their food is top tier, I usually get their smothered chicken, fried fish, or oxtails.

I was in the mood for some home cooking but didn't want to cook! Aunt Bill's is pretty close to me but somehow I've never tried it. Let's just say I'm glad I made this trip in the rain! Immediately walking in, my family and I were greeted. Every person we interacted with had a smile on their face and were super friendly. I'm not just talking about the host and servers either. One of the kitchen staff even came out, just to give me an extra wing because he felt mine were small!!! The owners walk around and truly interact with their guest or "family" as they like to say. (They do treat you as family. It's really nice and surprising from a restaurant) They even checked on us during and after our meal. Now on to the food. The fried chicken was hot and crispy just how I like it. The Mac and cheese was warm, cheesy, and not dry. The candied yams were delicious and sweet! I didn't finish the yams because I was making room for dessert. The owner thought maybe I wanted something else. It was super nice for her to offer. Most places give you an issue about changing your sides these days. Despite it not being the case. I was shocked by her offer. I wish I would have taken more pics but I was too hungry. My picky sister loved the red beans and rice. My mom's catfish had the right amount of crunch. I wasn't a fan of her greens/cabbage mix but she loved them. (Now wants to try them at home lol) Before you leave, please taste the banana pudding! The texture was perfect. It wasn't overdone with sliced bananas. I even shared with my mom. I'm not the type of person to share my food. HOWEVER it was a must that she tried it! My only con is I didn't see any alcohol. The peach lemonade was great. I just wanted a little kick.

As a mikkis fan, I'd say Aunt Bills was tasty but I still prefer mikkis. There was a 35 minute wait and I tried the fried fish (5/5 crispy flaky and delicious) smothered pork chops (3/5), wings (3/5) Mac and cheese (5/5 creamy and cheesy) oxtails (4/5) and greens/cabbage mix (1/5 very strong vinegar taste)If I lived less than 15 minutes away I'd come back but I wouldn't say it's worth a 35+ minute drive. Interior was nicely and simply decorated. Staff was professional and polite. Music was a bit too loud for me on a Sunday. Happy to support black owned business!!

Service was Not EXTREMELY SLOW...... Food was hot although it was fresh the rice was gummy and undercooked all at the same time. Our server was very pleasant and she did the best she could do

I came here after an overwhelmingly positive response to a social media influencer who solely inspects and tastes food across america. Came here a few months ago and tried this place and gave it rave reviews. I knew I had to come! However, I'm not sure if this was just an off day because the food didn't look like what he posted online, nor did it taste similar to the exclamations and remarks he made. All in all, it was quite the disappointment.They were pretty nice in general. The influencer stated that they were overwhelmingly nice and it was wonderful, but I can only say that about the greeter at the door. She was extremely personable and kind. After being seated, a gentleman took my order, and my food came out less than 3 minutes afterward. That led me to believe that the food was not fresh.GOLDEN FRIED FISH (2 WHOLE FILLETS)This had a decent flavor and seasoning. I haven't had fried fish in years, so I decided to give it a try here.**7.5/10CANDIED YAMSI can tell the candy yams were microwaved by the way they tasted. Not fresh at all, and some of the pieces tasted very raw. I have definitely had better candy yams in Houston**4.5/10BAKED MACARONI AND CHEESENow, these were a huge disappointment. They were extremely greasy and dry, and I was actually looking forward to tasting this the most given that the influencer showed his audience a beautifully creamy bowl of mac and cheese. This is absolutely not what I received.**2/10CORNBREADI'm not sure if I was given cornbread or a hockey puck. LOL, that thing was so dang hard I could barely cut it with my Fork. Like...barely. I have to stab it as if it wrongfully harmed me before. It didn't really have a taste and I think that it is made with honey and it was heated in a microwave and that's why it was so extremely hard. This is the sole reason why I was able to enjoy my meal.**10/10PEACH COBBLERThey actually forgot to give me my peach cobbler but still ring me up for it until I was packing my things up to go and told them that I never received it. There were actually no apologies or empathy they just went to the back and handed me some cold peach cobbler to go. I was actually appalled, but I held it together. I tasted the cobbler a little later, and it had good flavor, but there was so much bread in it that I couldn't enjoy it much.*5/10Just for your information...15% gratuity is automatically added to all parties. I don't have an issue with this on a regular day, but I believe that if you're a server, you need to be personable and service-oriented enough to earn a great tip. So they add the 15% gratuity, and I ate I dined alone, then they have the audacity to request a tip on top of that? Yeah.. I'm happy I tried this place, but I don't see myself returning ever.

Jae was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Her welcoming greeting and smile was refreshing. It was my first time and she gave me her suggestions after I asked. That's My DogI tried the Dirty Dog-the chili was on point for me. The beef Weiner was okay. Bun was soft and the hot dog arrive piping hot!!! Aunt Bill'sThe peach lemonade was all that! I tried the tender oxtails, rice and gravy, Mac and cheese and greens/cabbage mix. I didn't really care for the greens/cabbage mix. I did like the Mac and cheese. The gravy tasted like flour. The tender oxtails weren't tender but I will go hope tonight and baked them. Thing is they make sure you know nothing is kept under a heat lamp and everything is being freshly cooked and please be a patient.Pretty much everyone that I came in contact with was personable and helpful even though it "wasn't" their table and they actually didn't mind helping.I told Jae I would be back and I will.

I had Been watching for their opening for a while now. Finally I saw a few reviews that they were open so I decided to go over for lunch during the week.When I arrived I was immediately seated and giving them menu. There are only a few items on the menu not a large variety so I decided to try the smothered pork chops. They came over a bed of rice I also ordered succotash and candy yams and it came with cornbread. The chops were falling off the bone tender never have I had smother pork chops that were this tender. All of the food was prepared to my liking there were no issues with any thing on the menu that I had. I'll plan on revisiting next week for lunch perhaps to try out the oxtails and the bread pudding for dessert

I came to aunt Bill's soul café months ago when they had a jazz night. Multiple times I have been to this location and they always treat me like family. I love their peach lemonade and also their chicken and waffles and oxtail, but you could get anything. always remember that there is much love from Houston and the universe :) c:

1st time eating at Katy TX location, my son recognized the food truck hotdogs so my husband & I tried it, got 2 plates 4 wings over rice w sauce, mustard green cabbage mix, cornbread and yams. drive thru service needs help, the lady taking the orders has to bring out the food, that's the only issue. Now the food was fantastic, very much like great grandma prepared, savory flavors that stimulated my taste buds, the plating in my to go box was clean and not dripping out the sides, the price was high but well worth it for the value because each box had 4 nice sized wings so we shared a meal and gave the other to our son and he posted to his friends....man try the meals.... they're just as good as the hotdogs. Im ok w the price since it adds up to $11 per person VERY VERY WORTH IT. GOD BLESS this family to keep up the good service.
