"Village Coffee House is a homey, locally-owned coffee shop that matches the eclectic vibe of the Little 5 Points neighborhood and offers a welcome alternative to the corporate chain coffee shops that seem to dominate Atlanta. We visited on a late Sunday morning, and were immediately impressed by their COVID precautions. In an area often teeming now with overly-crowded sidewalk cafes and shops that make me more than a little uncomfortable, I was pleased to see that Village has shut down their interior dining space and now operates fully as a walk-up counter. Their menu was posted outside, making it easy to plan your order before approaching the door. Although I am not sure, Village seems to be family-operated and a black-owned business, and the two baristas working that morning were friendly, conscientious and, most importantly, masked. Although it took a little longer to get our orders than it might at other more well-piled machines, it was worth it. I ordered a cafe au lait, which was a simple but satisfying spin on a boring latte. She had an iced chai with soy, which was rich, spicy and a real treat, along with an iced black coffee for good measure, which was excellently brewed and not sour or overly bitter like some other iced coffees out there. For a snack, we shared a piece of what seemed to be homemade baklava, which was just sweet enough to hit the spot. Instead of opting for Village's outdoor seating, which was in too close proximity to the bustling brunch scene next door, we opted to take our beverages in the park down the street, making for an ideal fall morning. I recommend Village as a great way to support a locally-owned business in a rapidly changing neighborhood, and for a friendly and tasty coffee break anytime."
"I had the pleasure of trying Frozen Rooster during the grand opening weekend and so glad I did. Let's start with the menu, there are so many wonderful options to choose from. Hubby and I ordered fried shrimp, fried fish, wings, french fries, funnel cake and ice cream. Everything was DELISH!The staff was kind from the moment we walked in, the prices are fair, great location and plenty of parking. Be sure to give Frozen Rooster a try, you will not regret it. I plan to return soon."
"This place is tucked in a ritzy shopping center and apartment complex with gratuitously sparse parking; several spots were designated specifically for short-term frozen custard parking. They offer vanilla and chocolate and one rotating flavor, which when I dropped in was a splendid salted caramel that delivered just the right hint of salt. They had the options for toppings and sundaes, but it was a bit strange that they didn't have a banana split or a greater flavor variety. Not much for those avoiding dairy or egg either. But it was tasty and a good price."
"My husband and I absolutely love this place! We always place our order via the app and we have always had a great experience when picking up our order. The staff are always friendly, the restaurant is always clean, and the food is sooooo good.I usually keep it simple with the Mooyah Cheeseburger (single beef patty, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Mooyah sauce), an order of their hand cut fries and I cannot leave without getting an Oreo milkshake. The burger is always full of flavor and I love the potato bun that it comes with. The fries always taste super fresh, always has just enough salt, and everything is just super tasty. The milkshakes are soooo good and I love alllll the Oreos that manage to find their way to the bottom of the shake. I meannnn there are times where I just go for a shake if I want a sweet treat. If you're in the area and lookin for a cute little spot with good service, good food, and delicious milkshakes...Mooyah is the place for you!!"
"Since I was staying nearby, I decided to try this vegan ice cream spot. The ice cream here is all coconut milk based. It's a small space where you just go up to order but there are some chairs and tables set up outside. The ice scooper helping was super friendly and even gave us Atlanta recommendations. I got two scoops which came out to be just under $8. Spelman strawberry & mango - more icey than creamy with chunks of mango. The strawberry flavor was subtle and I wish the flavor came through more. The flavor was very refreshing!West end wakanda - super creamy! It's a vanilla based ice cream with charcoal and a little bit of salt. I highly recommend this flavor!"
"NICE CREAM! A black owned ice cream shop right down the road from GSU. The whole street is what we like to call "resturant row" there is so many options all walking distance from one another. I promised my partner I would buy him ice cream and we decided on this business as it was fairly close to our hotel. Once we came inside we were told about their donut ice cream sandwich. Though that sounded delicious it also sounded like a LOT of food. We each got a scoop. My partner got praline and I got the Cuban coffee ice cream. We each got a different topping on top too. Don't get me wrong it was a good spot with flavorful cream. However, there was no seating inside. This is a need especially since a lot of tourists come around this area for food. I wasn't super impressed by this ice cream experience."
"I've been here twice over the summer, with my most recent visit being last night, and must say that I was super pleased with not only the ice cream but also with the service I received. The staff are friendly and I like that they have no issues engaging with the customers and make it a point to answer any questions. There are a lot of options to choose from and you're able to customize your sweet treat with so many mix-ins ranging from fruit to candy to nuts. I loved watching them make the roll ice cream and the first time I went, one of the staff members explained how the process worked. While I thought I wanted to try a blaster (basically a milkshake) but I stuck with a regular cup of the vanilla ice cream and added Oreos and sprinkles because I just wanted a pop of color (plus sprinkles just make life so much better). The ice cream was sooo creamy and yummy and there was the perfect blend of Oreos. I was soooo happy and wished their was one closer to me because it's just that good! If you're lookin for some good ice cream, try Sweet Charlie's. You won't be disappointed!"
"Hot summer days mean cooling down with some good soft-serve ice cream! If you're into matcha, this is it!AMBIANCE/SEATINGsmall and cozy shop with minimalistic wood seating areas. A seating area at the front with two tables requires patrons to take their shoes off. I love that this idea was incorporated into the shop. STAFFThere were about 3-4 staff members when I visited on a Sunday evening. They were friendly and quick. My review is solely for their soft-serve ice cream.* Ube* Mango* Vanilla * MatchaThe soft-serve ice creams are delicious. Especially the matcha (green tea) and Ube. These two have the most flavors. The mango tasted more like a sorbet to me, but it was still tasty. The vanilla is subtle but creamy. Matcha Cafe Maiko is a great ice cream shop to get something to cool down on these hot and humid summer days."
"After many failed attempts at a primo location by Piedmont Park, Shake Shack for the win.I'd never been to *any* Shake Shack, so I figured I'd give it a try with my son and one of his gal pals. hoo boy, it was amazing. I had the truffle burger and fries, which was quite simply one of the best burgers I've ever had.(*digesting* said burger was another matter entirely, but I digress.)Location? can't be beat. speed of service? amazing. modern and spiffy? yes indeed. I'll go back in a heartbeat on cheat day but just make sure to exercise afterward."
"Best matcha soft serve in Atlanta! Not too sweet and not too bitter. Perfect! I also enjoy the Hojicha latte with oat milk here too! The place also gives you japanese vibes. Cute!"
"*Sweet Tooth Conquered*Driving thru Chamblee around the dinner hour, I thought, 'Why not satisfy my sweet tooth?' This is THE cutest set-up, and though it has a line that seems is always long, it moves along quickly. While in line, feel-good tunes (think 80's et al.) entertain while you have time to peruse the flavors. Time flies, and before you know it, you're at the window & you'll know what to order. The variety of flavors span the traditional plus a few specialties (Ex. Coffee Crunch, Carrot Cake, and Rum Raisin) to name a few. And some of those will change with the seasons, of course. Parking is ample & the staff serves with smiles and efficiency. Definitely stop thru to satisfy the kids or just for the Big Kid in you"
"We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was not very crowded at all. My kids were glad to hear they were doing samples. All the flavors are visible in the glass display case and they did not have any mint chocolate chip. They did, however, have a peppermint, which was just as satisfying. I also had some of the Mocha almond fudge, which was really good as well.I love that you can get any size scoop inside of a waffle cone or bowl, which is great if you don't want that much ice cream, but still enjoy the crunchy waffle. Also, if you get a small, you can get two different flavors as it is two scoops and a good value. There is a small parking lot out front and some indoor tables, but we walked up and took ours to-go. The staff here is super friendly."

Our first date (2019). Should a beautiful location and the owner is so sweet. We came back for our 1 yr meet & greet anniversary. Things are different because of Covid but still the best little coffee house in Little 5.

Tried Frozen Rooster for the first time. The restaurant was very clean but empty, seeming that most people order to go. I ordered a combination plate with shrimp and fish. The pricing is fair as no restaurants are cheap these days. I would say be prepared to spend $15 to $20 per person. The shrimp were fried hard, still tasty. The fish was okay. However, I would not order it the same way if I were to return. I ordered the catfish with hot lemon pepper. I should have asked additional questions when ordering because I assumed that it would be a dry rub. The fish was fried, then drenched with hot sauce and a tad bit of lemon pepper and served on a slice of bread. It was very spicy, not necessarily good. If I were to return, I would try the fish plain.

Nice new place to go for frozen custard. The shop is bright and clean, with convenient parking, and the service is pleasant and efficient. I loved the hot fudge sundae and my lovely bride inhaled the turtle sundae. The hot fudge and caramel sauce were a bit on the skimpy side. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Wait what!! Vegan ice cream that's coconut based. This place was so good we had to go back the next day!! We got butter pecan, west end wakanda buckhead mocha and Edgewood cookies and cream. My hubby got the graham cracker bowl. We decided it was not worth the $3. The Next visit we just got the ice cream in bowls. The service was good..we were told we could try two flavors. Not sure if that literally meant you can only try two but that's how I took it. I'll try another two when we go back. It's a small spot but we were told there's some seating somewhere.

My kids were able to find their favorite flavors and seemed happy with their treats BUT...I did not go into the business. The closest parking was a block away and before I was fully parked, a guy rode over to my vehicle on a scooter and started telling me how terrible this parking lot was and pointed out the two other vehicles already booted. Scooter man proceeded to ask me if I ever help out the homeless and asked for cash, and had a hard time accepting my no answer. Across the street from the public parking lot is John Calhoun Park. I noticed numerous homeless sleeping in the shade and another covered in a wheelchair next to the street. My initial thought was to find another ice cream option because I didn't feel comfortable leaving my vehicle and walking a couple blocks over to Sweet Stacks. My daughters (ages 6 & 7) had been drinking lots of water because it was a hot day and had to pee really bad. I circled the block and let the girls out, my oldest was able to handle payment. To our dismay, the bathrooms at Sweet Stack are for employees only. My idea of a fun treat was very underwhelming. Sweet Stack might be more of a locals only shop.

Fast service and entertaining. Inside is very small, but there are a couple benches outside also. Ice cream was very tasty. Unlimited toppings if you are crazy.

Such a cute spot! We were craving ice cream late at night and we found ourselves close to this location. They have a variety of flavors for the soft serves and different desserts and bites. We end up all getting soft serves, you can choose from cones or a cup. We tried the Thai Tea flavor, the Vanilla with boba and the Vanilla with cornflakes. They were all so good. I have to come back soon and try the ube and matcha flavors!!The service was also fast and friendly and there's plenty of parking space.ESPAÑOLEl lugar es super lindo!
Visit Restaurant Page"This was a perfect day for this delicious ice cream. My sister brought me and my grandson here. She knows I can't have ice cream. So she assured me that they would have sorbet and it would be good. And mann was it?!!!!! Strawberry and Lemon are 2 of my favorite fruit flavors ever. Besides mango and Kiwi. Just so you know if anyone ever asks you . But the flavors was on point and definitely did not disappoint at all. So if your in search of some good sorbet. You got to visit Morelli's."
"Tea leaf consistently has good boba and the tea itself. This specific location is close to all the food places on buford hwy. Plenty of parking in the complex. A lot of seating inside and great ambiance. They do have a self order kiosk (which wasnt the easiest boba kiosk i used). Lot of varieties of drink options. We tried the mango and super fruit tea. The drinks are refreshing and boba was good. Tad bit pricey compared to other boba places. But reflects in the quality IMO."
"It's a gimmick, but a good one. Pick your mixings and have them laid out and rolled up into some sweet goodness. This place is much like a regular ice-cream parlor. Clean and comfortable. Service is good, with staff offering good suggestions and otherwise, mixing up whatever it is you ordered. You know the drill: frozen "griddles" form the basis for staff to pour, mix, and roll-up each order. But you get to watch your creation come together, which I suppose is part of the gimmick. They've got a menu of pre-arranged goodness, or you can create your own concoctions from the wide variety of bases and mix-ins they have available. If it looks good to you, you will enjoy it."
"My oh my.. it was a late night and someone wanted a milk shake.. so of course most of the usual spots close after 10 but not this one! Glancing over the menu.. wow this is pretty pricey!! $17 for a milkshake.. Must be over the top and high quality ingredients with amazing service? Wrong, it was so much BETTER!! Super extra sky high toppings, even the whipped cream was divine! I ordered the Banana pudding shake.. wow, real bananas and real vanilla wafers.. super sticky and rich caramel. Service was very nice as well. Two young ladies working was doing the best they could, fast as possible. Inside, think PINK!!! so cute inside with such a vibe.. cute wall decor for pictures and videos. They really went out on the decor!Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and will be back soon..."
"I wasn't aware that The Yard was a franchise, and there are several locations across the U.S.We stopped by after a meeting, and we shared the Sea Turtle - this came with butter pecan and praline ice cream in a chocolate-iced mason jar that's also rolled in crushed waffle cone; this is also topped with whipped cream, caramel and chocolate drizzles, and 2 Turtles. This was definitely a decadent dessert, and very easily shared between 2-3 people. The menu also offers shakes, sundaes, floats, edible cookie dough, and even GF and vegan options. You go through the line and get up to 2 samples of the ice cream; you place your order and pay, and your number will be called out when it's ready.Note that there's a password to use the restroom on the receipt.Plenty of seating inside. There's also a rinse station to clean out your souvenir mason jar, which I thought was pretty convenient.I do wish they properly stock napkins and paper towels, though, as they were non-existent.+shareable ice cream creations+friendly service+rinse station available for souvenir mason jars+lack of napkins"
"Located on the beltline with outdoor seating it is a nice location. Shake shack is a bit pricey for the taste of the food but this location has a nice view and service. You order on tablets upon entry and they will call your number out when the food is ready."
"Wow, where in the world is "Yeah Burger?" Why are we being nostalgic, but also how in the world did an amazing local restaurant turn into this attempt to barely make a burger? As the takeover of Atlanta is ongoing by major chains wanting to buy out prime real estate, Shake Shack is one of the latest depressive examples. Taking over a pandemic distressed local restaurant, that simply did not have the funds to run along, Shake Shack owned over the place, hired people to pay minimum wage without any discussion for talent and turned it into what's mostly, a disaster.Granted, the crew here tries hard to keep the place clean. Yet, the level of disorganization is extreme. It sits somewhere between an airport restaurant and an attempt of a meal. Meals take a long, very long time to prepare. Restrooms are an attempt to be clean. Kitchen is a wild place. Everything is one step away from disaster. Burgers are mediocre and inconsistent, at times overcooked.Perhaps, one of the sad examples where local businesses get taken over by large companies, hire people who should be working at Wendy's and create meals that are deeply deprived of soul."
"I'm kicking myself for all the years I've lived in Atlanta without knowing Pala existed. I've driven into this complex dozens of times without seeing it, and it wasn't until a coworker randomly suggested it as a lunch spot that I discovered the magic of Pala's paninis. The sandwiches might seem pricey, but they're also quite sizable, like a small brick in the hand. It's hard to know what makes it so fantastic. Is it the bread, baked crunchy and brushed with a healthy dose of good olive oil? Is it the fresh mozzarella and imported ingredients? Whatever sorcery they're employing here, it's working because my colleagues were texting each other later that afternoon, collectively reminiscing on our lunch. There are other things, like pizza and gelato. I tried the latter, and found myself moaning almost inappropriately with each creamy bite. I'd recommend the strawberry and pistachio are a particularly powerful combination, but they're generous with samples here so you're welcome to scribe your own happy dessert. On another note, the owner is more than half the charm of the place. Giovanni Di Palma, who is also the owner of Antico Pizza, is a friendly and familiar presence here. He took the time to come outside and check on our group during our first visit as we (wolfishly) downed our panini, wanting to make sure everything turned out all right. "Did everything come out all right?" he pressed when we gave him a round of thumbs up. "Food's gotta' be emotional, y'know?" He was also there later that same night when I dragged my husband out to taste these magical sandwiches. Giovanni brought out my sandwich personally when it was done. "I had to make it twice," he explained apologetically. "The first time, the bread soaked up all the sauce so I made it again with a different kind of roll. It's gotta' be emotional! Try it and let me know how you like it." How can you not respect and adore a guy so passionate about food that he'd take the time to remake it until it turned out right? The meatball parm was perfect - with thick slabs of well-seasoned meatballs between warm, crusty bread, covered with just enough sauce and mozzarella that my eyes rolled with the first bite. When Giovanni came back a minute later to check on me, I knew exactly how to answer. "It's emotional."Since there are a number of restaurants within this complex (not to mention a Publix), parking can be a bit of a pain at certain points of the day. With only one long table and a few outside, seating can also be a bit of an issue, but that doesn't seem to faze the steady streams of hungry customers."
"I've had my eye on Kwality ice cream for a while now and glad I finally made my way there. The flavors are so unique and the consistency is fantastic. They offer a wide variety of flavors from traditional like vanilla and chocolate to guava and paan masala. After sampling a few flavors, I landed on the kulfi falooda and one other milky flavor which name I don't remember. They were delicious on their own as well as together. I've never had ice cream flavors like these before and I loved them! Service was fast and friendly. The team did a great job explaining the flavors and recommending flavors. Highly recommend Kwality ice cream!"
"Go visit the new black woman owned vegan creamery! The 112 peaches and cream soft served ice cream was the perfect treat. I can't wait to go back to try more items!"
"This location is inside of the Chattahoochie Food Works food hall, part of a mixed use space with restaurants, retail shops, a brewery, and a playground. It is located right in the middle of the space. There was no line when we were there on a Saturday afternoon and I do not think they were taking cash, only card. The staff was super-friendly and helpful. They did allow sampling, but did not have as many flavors as the other locations since their space is limited. That said, the flavors they did have were great. They had a vegan chocolate flavor as well. The prices are fair for the location and what you get, which is great tasting ice cream! We found a cool live edge low table right next to the stand to enjoy our treats."
"I've always been to the other Jeni's locations in Atlanta so I was super surprised by the walk-up window aspect! There's a good amount of parking available and the line here for a chilly, sprinkly Saturday night was minimal compared to other Jeni's locations for sure.Jeni's ALWAYS delivers on flavors and customer service and this location was just as quality and nice as all the others! This scoop location has humongous scoops too!"
"In the mood for sweets or refreshing drinks, you've come to the right spot!It was around 3 in the afternoon and I needed a pick me up sweets after a long morning with lots of walking. Yelp suggestions and reviews got me here. I ordered mango ice cream, slush and mango popping boba. It is so good and perfectly sweet. I'm glad I ordered it with 50% sugar. I can't imagine how sweeter it will be at 100% sugar. The mango popping boba is so addictive that I was attempted to order more but not today.I highly recommend coming here. During my 20 minute stay, I do notice many customers placing orders to go. You can either order at the counter or the kiosk by the door. Parking is plenty as this spot is located in a strip shopping area."
"Here at The Yard they offer so many different varieties of ice cream and shakes. The portions are out of this world. The service was great! They let us sample two flavors and delivered the dessert right to the table. The ambiance was cool!!! It's a parking ramp with ample amount of space and they even validate your parking ticket if you dine inside! So with that being said the parking was free and the dessert was on point."
"My friends and I came here after finishing our dinner nearby. There were 8 flavors of ice cream to pick from and plenty of toppings to include. Between the bourbon caramel and cappuccino flavors, I liked the flavor and texture of the bourbon one more as I found the cappuccino to be a bit gritty and not very prominent in taste. We saw they have huge uno cards (peep the pic) so we made ourselves comfortable and had a fun time. Staff were patient and kind serving our large group of 10 and seemed to have no issue with us rearranging (but returning) the layout of their space for a bit. I would come again to try more of their flavors and experiment with their toppings!"
"I always meant to visit the Zesto in Little 5 but never did, so I decided to try the location a little but further south before it's sold and turned into condos that few people can afford. I ordered the Fat Boy burger without onions, regular fries and a Heath Bar Artichoke Blast. I went through the drive-thru with an expectation to wait, and the wait didn't feel terribly long. You'll need to be patient with ordering because the person taking my order was not in a hurry. This didn't bother me, but if you're in a hurry, the Burger King across the street might be a better bet. The food was ordinary fast food. The burger tasted old, neither the buns nor the meat patties had not been warmed and were definitely not fresh. The fries were very hot, but unseasoned and I'm guessing the reason I had to wait. The Artic Blast was ice cream deliciousness, and I would come back for this item only. Zesto knows ice cream, baby! I'm glad I finally gave Zesto a try. It's a piece of the Old Atlanta that I greatly miss."
"I was meeting a friend in VaHi so we decided to check out Paolos! You can sometimes get lucky and find street parking in this neighborhood, but this time, I ended up parking residential just down the road. The shop itself is pretty small, but I was wowed by the extensive menu and products they have to offer! There were so many flavors of ice cream, and I also love the different Italian products like dried pasta they had for sale. I ended up getting the tiramisu flavor and we sat outside at one of the small tables available. There's also a huge banner outside that explains the owner Paolo's story and how his stores in the Bahamas and Atlanta came to be! My ice cream was so creamy and smooth and I loved the addition of coffee powder to give the ice cream a not overly sweet taste! Loved the vibes, and definitely a new favorite of mine."
"Cute ice cream shop located inside of Farm Burger. They always have unique flavors on special and its nice for a hot day out."
"Came here for some coffee and doughnuts. This venue is not on the main road and it looks closed at night but it is definitely open since it is a 24/7 establishment. They have a dim lit sign that shows they are open.I ordered the Fresh strawberries and cream doughnut, nutella doughnut, and oreo doughnut. The strawberries was the best donut and actually had fresh strawberries in it. The Oreo has plenty of oreo crumbles but is not spectacular. The nutella tastes great but will take all the moisture out your mouth. The doughnuts are decent and it did the job.The staff was kool and fast with service."
"This shop in Decatur promised distinctive flavors. My service experience was not great. I stood around waiting for at least ten minutes without even being acknowledged, which I think was partially due to online orders as there weren't that many people actually there. Eventually, I ended up with a couple of strong flavors, one berry-based sorbet and their version of mint chip, which had kind of a baking chocolate chip and a strong aftertaste but was interesting. It was on the pricey side, though my two scoops looked more like four so I can't say they skimped on portion size.It delivered the promised flavor and their ice cream cookie sandwiches looked nice. This was a good place for vegan and gluten-free needs with a variety of interesting options. They just need to make sure they can keep the line moving."
"This is such a cute and vibrant BLACK OWNED ice cream shop. A bit pricey, but a must try at least once. They have so many ice cream cereal infused options to choose or you can grab a milkshake as well. Vegan options are available for an upcharge of $2. I noticed they had a cereal infused waffle sundae, but at $22.50 I think NOT!!!! I went with the downtown with frosted flakes, cinnamon toast crunch, French toast crunch and caramel. It was just ok I don't see the hype. Customer service was warm and welcoming cute concept to chase those nostalgic moments, but I'm in no rush to return."
"The weather was nice, the friends were out for a stroll after a morning of volunteering, what better reasons to stop into Big Softie for a cool treat! LoL. As I walked in my senses were attacked by fresh smells of sweet cream and fresh waffle cones. To say I was instantly excited would be an understatement. I was overjoyed by the instant memories of childhood and the local ice cream parlor. The nostalgia was free with my order. Ha!Walking up to the cashier to order, the young lady was very nice and greeted me with a smile. As I was the last of the group to order I knew what I wanted. I partook in a small vanilla on a cake cone with rainbow sprinkles (jimmies where I'm from). I placed my order, provided my name, and stood to the side. Once my order was ready, my name was called and my excitement started all over again. The ice cream was perfectly sculpted. It looked as if every sprinkle was perfectly placed and the ice cream to cone ratio was perfecttttttttttttttttttt. I'm one who bites the top of the swirl off first and upon FIRST BITE... I was planning my next visit back. LoL. Fresh Ice CreamFresh ConeSuper Fresh Sprinkles And best of all, the cream to sugar ratio was algebraically perfect. It's official. I'll be back in two weeks for my next fix. Dare I say, Big Softie is now in my Top 5 for Ice Cream, and #1 for Soft Serve. Do yourself a favor and get you some."
"It's a bit of an odd location as you have to go up some stairs to a plaza that's removed from the street. Apparently this leads to a MARTA station (I've never been on MARTA despite numerous trips to Atlanta). While the people ahead of me were getting pints, I had plenty of time to peruse. I ended up with an oreo-based cookies and cream flavor, as well as some white chocolate raspberry. Both flavors delivered a strong dairy base and smooth texture, with the oreos and raspberries being more of a finishing note. It was clearly good gelato, but even by Atlanta standards, the price was a bit eyebrow-raising for one small cup of gelato. I could see some quality there, but it wasn't the best I've had in Atlanta."
