I tried the lavender latte, and it was perfect. It had a rich flavor and a smooth texture. Can't recommend enough the walnut coffee cake which is light and airy with a satisfying texture. They had other pastries on display like scones, muffins, and cakes -- all looked tempting. The seating area was spacious and comfortable. The decor was modern and stylish with music which was upbeat and relaxing, creating a lively mood. It's the great place to hang out with friends or read a book. If you're looking for a new cafe to try with attentive friendly service, I highly recommend it."

The donuts are made to order, which is really cool. You can watch them fry your donuts and then decorate them. They have a huge menu with so many different flavors and toppings, and you can also customize your own doughnut icing & toppings. The base donut is vanilla cake.My friend and I shared a box of 6 donuts in the following flavors:- lemon icing with strawberry drizzle- blueberry pancake- cookies and cream- maple bacon- cinnamon bun- chocolate icing with sprinklesMy favorites were the first three, but they were all really tasty! They are really sweet and fun flavors, but I appreciate that they are a normal size donut, rather than an overly huge one."

Inside the vibe is welcoming and chill with a variety of plants (some which are available for sale). Theres also some card games and magazines to use if you're inclined. In addition, there's a good variety of seating types (a few couches and tables). The staff is always pleasant and welcoming as well. Village Coffee House

Village Coffee House

★★★★☆ 3.8 (25)

Jordan W. "Village Coffee House is a homey, locally-owned coffee shop that matches the eclectic vibe of the Little 5 Points neighborhood and offers a welcome alternative to the corporate chain coffee shops that seem to dominate Atlanta. We visited on a late Sunday morning, and were immediately impressed by their COVID precautions. In an area often teeming now with overly-crowded sidewalk cafes and shops that make me more than a little uncomfortable, I was pleased to see that Village has shut down their interior dining space and now operates fully as a walk-up counter. Their menu was posted outside, making it easy to plan your order before approaching the door. Although I am not sure, Village seems to be family-operated and a black-owned business, and the two baristas working that morning were friendly, conscientious and, most importantly, masked. Although it took a little longer to get our orders than it might at other more well-piled machines, it was worth it. I ordered a cafe au lait, which was a simple but satisfying spin on a boring latte. She had an iced chai with soy, which was rich, spicy and a real treat, along with an iced black coffee for good measure, which was excellently brewed and not sour or overly bitter like some other iced coffees out there. For a snack, we shared a piece of what seemed to be homemade baklava, which was just sweet enough to hit the spot. Instead of opting for Village's outdoor seating, which was in too close proximity to the bustling brunch scene next door, we opted to take our beverages in the park down the street, making for an ideal fall morning. I recommend Village as a great way to support a locally-owned business in a rapidly changing neighborhood, and for a friendly and tasty coffee break anytime."

Caffe Antico

Caffe Antico

★★★☆☆ 3.4 (89)

Daniel B. "Caffe Antico is the gelateria (gelato shop) and pasticceria (pastry shop) located in Westside Atlanta's Little Italia. Caffe Antico isn't to be confused with Caffe Gio, also located in Little Italia. I don't know if Caffe Gio actually still exists in any official capacity. I happened to be the first to review it on Yelp 10 years ago (2013): https://www.yelp.com/biz/caffé-gio-atlanta-2?hrid=0Y5uUatRgBEm1t1iH50Bzg&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct).Concepts and brands have popped up (e.g., Gio's Sicilian: https://www.yelp.com/biz/gios-sicilian-pizza-shop-atlanta) and come and gone in this mini Italian empire. It was started by Antico Pizza owner Giovanni Di Palma and his older brother Giuseppe. It goes without saying that Antico is the heart of Little Italia, followed by Gio's Chicken Amalfitano. Antico opened in 2009: https://www.yelp.com/biz/antico-pizza-atlanta. Gio's Chicken opened in 2012: https://www.yelp.com/biz/gios-chicken-amalfitano-atlanta. Having lived in this area since 2000, it's been interesting for me to see how Little Italia has steadily expanded into multiple spaces and buildings near Hemphill and Ethel in Home Park, close to Georgia Tech and Atlantic Station. The way I see it is that Caffe Antico is the successor to Caffe Gio. Unlike Caffe Gio, which was located on the backside of Gio's Chicken, Caffe Antico is located across Ethel Street in an old home that's been renovated to house not only Caffe Antico, but Bar Amalfi: https://www.yelp.com/biz/bar-amalfi-atlanta. Bar Amalfi is open in the evenings seasonally. Caffe Antico is open year-round. One thing I like about Caffe Antico, Bar Amalfi, and Little Italia in general is the "authentic" Italian atmosphere that the Di Palmas have been able to create. It feels a little like Italy. Also, it doesn't scream gentrification like, say, The Interlock and Star Metals a couple blocks away. The growth/expansion has been organic and they've been able to integrate nicely into the neighborhood. When the weather is nice, the patio at Caffe Antico and Bar Amalfi is pleasant and enjoyable to sit on and hang out at. You can even bring your Antico Pizza and Gio Chicken's here to eat if you want (good pro tip if the dine-in spaces there are busy/full).I've tried most of Caffe Antico's gelato flavors and they're all delicious to me. During our last visit, they had about a dozen or so different flavors of gelato and sorbet including chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry, espresso, chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, hazelnut, salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla. They also had an assortment of Italian pies, cakes, and desserts, plus various cannoli ($3.50 each) and refrigerated grab-and-go refreshments. The gelato ranged in price from $5-7 before tax and tip for a scoop, half and half, or a special three-flavor combo. All gelato is served with a wafer/cookie. Service has always been good.Free parking is available on Ethel Street plus in various paved and gravel lots around the three buildings of Little Italia."

I've been to this Pleasant Hill location just once before, and I've always thought the place itself is very charming...a great, serene ambiance. However, there are so many bakeries in Duluth (and surrounding areas) with HUGE, extensive selections...and sadly, this bakery cafe selection pales in comparison. If only this place made its way to someplace like Charlotte, where there wouldn't be much competition for light pastries.Still, I stopped in to pick up 3 pastry items to go. Just like all the bakeries, these pastries are made fresh daily, and individually wrapped (Covid-friendly!), and thoroughly delicious.PS*** I'm revising the review up to 4 stars...because by now I've tried all 3 pastries, and they were AMAZING!!"

However, most items are not labeled with the pricing, with some of the petit cakes starting at $3.50. D. K. C. "I needed a location to meet with a colleague and what is a meeting without amazing coffee? During my search Java Lord popped up and offered hours that fit my needs. As such, let's talk about my recent visit. The location sits towards the rear of the high traffic area which is perfect for finding parking. Upon walking in there is an assortment of treats that capture your eye. The ambiance of the location is super chill and artsy. The paintings on the wall are not only amazing but they are for sale as well. Talk about a win win!Being this was my first time I wanted to go outside of my usual coffee order. I decided on the Coffee of the Day with a shot of Almond and Vanilla. The Murder Blend has a smooth Coffee taste. This is the perfect blend for someone (such as myself) who enjoys the authentic taste of coffee. As I love a good Dark Blend. This Medium/Dark Blend allows the roast flavor to be very evident. The flavor profile has a heavy body, and the flavor is prominent but isn't spicy and has the authentic bittersweet tang, subtle chocolate and caramel flavors, with hints of smokiness. Yeah! As you can see, this is a perfect coffee for any moment of the day... The flavor shots are strong which pair well with the heaviness of the Murder Blend. The young lady who helped me originally was nice, however, as she wasn't as much of a coffee drinker I was unable to get her take on any of the other blends. As such, I will be back again to be surprised by the daily blend. Overall, this location is great for a break from a busy day, a chance to meet with friends, or even a quick business conversation. But now as we've moved from FL we don't get to treat ourselves to these sweet treats as often as before. The first thing you need to know about The Salty is if you plan on going you need to arrive when they first open their doors. This is when you will get the best options. If you go later in the day there will not be much left. When we came into the Buckhead location we walked in and they only had one tray of donuts left. No matter what donut you get they will always be super sweet and super delicious.
