Olivia H. "Hands down, this place has the best West African food in Atlanta. My sister and our husbands ordered the following dishes:1. Pepper Soup with Assorted Meat 2. Okra Soup with Goat Meat 3. Egusi Soup with Assorted Meat4. Peanut Butter Soup with Assorted Meat5. 4 Sides of Pounded YamEach dish was full of flavor and filled with generous amounts of protein that was nice and tender. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the Okra Soup. We enjoyed our food so much that we each ordered an additional meal to take home. The food and service was outstanding! Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Highly recommend!"

This dish was not, particularly my cup of tea. I didn't mind the fufu; it was pretty tasteless and more of a texture thing and something to hold the soup, I believe. But the soup didn't have much flavor as I thought. First, I was kind of paused when choosing a "meat" because I didn't really want one. Once I got it, the texture and flavor of the fish were ok. It was firmer than I thought, which was good. I just expected to be wowed by strong flavors, and I wasn't--I kind of needed salt. However!!!! I would still go back and try other things from this place. Like I said the dish wasn't bad, just not what I expected. Jollof Rice: drier than I expected. Thought it would be more fluffy and flavorful, it was not."

Stephanie M. "First and foremost. Just know that they charge you to park in their public parking lot which is shared by multiple establishments. Once we got in, didn't have to wait for a table. Service was friendly. DJ was pretty good, but keep in mind that it's pretty loud around the DJ area so request a table outside if you plan on having conversations. Drinks were not the best. But the food was decent for the prices. I think this place is a hit or miss for me."

Eugene S. "I have no reference point regarding what flavors to look for in terms of Ghanaian food but for what it's worth, this place is amazing! The restaurant is a medium size establishment off of Tech Dr. in Norcross and it's a hidden gem of West African cuisine.Upon entry, it's a very unassuming entrance. The interior is spacious while the setting is set to provide a more intimate sense of style with low lighting. Unfortunately, the music is blaring so conversation will be difficult to during a date. The service is great. My server was prompt and professional. Now for the food...A friend recommended I get the jollof rice. This is a tomato based dish that gives you your choice of protein of fish and beef or chicken and beef. There is a depth of flavor to this that I could not pinpoint. The rice itself had a rich smokey flavor that has a savory bite to it. Again, I can't pinpoint the spice they used but the dish itself is addictive to consume! The beef I will say had an odd texture to it. It was tough to chew but was also a bit fatty which was an off putting experience. The chicken was a bit more tender but was still giving an overcooked feel. Both the proteins were overcooked as there were tough portions to chew on. They were flavorful to be sure but for the most part, consuming the proteins was off so if they can improve the cooking method on the proteins, that would make for a better experience. The plantains included were tender and sweet which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also sampled the meat pie. This was a different to be sure. The minced meat is mixed in with some carrots and onions and the seasoning. It's almost like a hot pocket but the dough casing is thicker and doughy. It came hot and ready which was pleasant. All in all, again, I have no reference to understand what the flavors are but there is definitely a richness and a savory depth in the Jollof Rice. As this is also a tomato based dish, between the sweetness of the tomatoes and the sweetness of the onions off sets the savoriness and then there's a spicy bite to the whole dish between the rice and the gravy sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish despite having no context on what to know but for what it's worth, it's good home style cooking.Highly recommend this place for sure!"

It doesn't seem like much from the outside, but it is a bustling spot inside. Most people are getting food to carry out, but we ate inside.Go for the daily specials. By the way, chebb = tiny, glutinous, chubby and deliciously flavored rice. I made the mistake (or perhaps not) of ordering sides with the daily special, which is a ton of food. Got the cabbage and the plantains-both delicious. The plantains are crispy and not flimsy. Delicious food. Definitely will be back to try other dishes. One star off because everything comes in styrofoam..."

I actually learned of this spot from a non-related Yelp review that mentioned the restaurant - looked it up and it was 12 mins away from me! I've been looking for a new African restaurant to try close by, so it was really just my luck. We came for takeout on a slow Sunday - the wonderful waitress helped us order (didn't get her name). She even kindly brought our order to the car while we were waiting, very nice of her.We ordered Suya fries, Suya beef & jollof with goat and plantain. Truly blown away by the Suya fries as I've never had anything like it before - delicious. The flavors were THERE. Seasoning was on point and the mayo based sauce on top was so damn good. Beef was flavorful and juicy. Jollof and goat was spicy and also delicious. I can't speak for in-dining experience, however they do have a stage inside, so looks like they host various events throughout the week. I will absolutely be returning. So happy we found this tucked away gem!!!!!"

This food was so delicious and well prepared. I had the whole tilapia with jollof and plaintains. Fish was cooked perfectly through out. Food portion was excellent. Lots to share. Operating for five months, it has become a frequent choice for me--three to four visits in the last three weeks. The highlight lies in their excellent soups, available for dine-in or takeout. Although closed on Sundays, the tranquil ambiance with no music but a TV creates a relaxed atmosphere. They offer a variety of drinks, enhancing the overall experience. Highly recommended; it's quickly become one of my favorite African restaurants in Atlanta."

Our friend (who recently moved from Nigeria) took us here, so it was our first experience with Nigerian food and it was INCREDIBLE!! He said the food was the exact type of food you would get back in Lagos, if not better, and he felt right at home. We started off the with the suya and I couldn't get enough, it was so tender and flavorful, we almost got a second round. I had the jollof rice and turkey, while the other people in my group got the egusi, efo and yam. The food is top notch and would highly recommend this to anyone craving Nigerian fare or looking to try it for the first time. The atmosphere was really fun and festive and the service was above and beyond -- everyone was so friendly, our server made sure we were well taken care of and we even got to meet the owner who personally came over and introduced himself. We loved it so much that we even stayed for a hookah. We went pretty early in the evening, but our sever told us that it gets really lively later in the evening as people come for the music, dancing and hookah. Can't wait to come back again!"

The menu consists mostly of African food and some bar foods like wings and fries. I tried some fries which were good but a tad on the salty side. I can say that our food was prepared in a timely fashion and there was no cost to enter (unlike other late night lounges). I went with a few friends on a Tuesday night at about 2am. There was not much parking available so if you choose to go at that hour then I suggest ubering. I would go back and maybe try a few other food items."

It's like they didn't have enough fried rice so they spread it out to fill the styrofoam container. I pushed the fried rice to one side there was ALOT of space left. The Jollof rice on the other hand seemed to be packed well. It's not nice to try and stiff the customers... just say you don't have enough. I doubt I'll be back. Brittney C. "Yesterday was my moms birthday. We asked her where she would like to go and she said that she didn't want anything more than pepper soup (African food). So I've been to so many places and at that time my usual spots were not open until after 12 so I fell upon this place. Parking: Beware! Parking is very limited. In fact, I don't even think the people are parking for that location. I didn't have to wait long but the park is slim to none :) Location: Its in a shopping plaza with other like restaurants and stores so really easy to get to. Appearance: Really nice inside pics led me to this location. It's decorated nicely and the outside is clearly identifiable as SL. Staff: I was warmly greeted when we arrived and the staff especially Winnie were so awesome! Felt as if they were family. Winnie took a good time explaining their menu for the day and then al of the products listed. Really appreciated that. Atmosphere: just like I like it. My mom enjoyed herself - Africa/soca music playing in the background. Food: They offered her a glass of champagne or wine of her choice as a toast for her birthday. The food flavor was exceptional! This was a really good impression as I typically only eat Nigerian and Ghanaian food but this Liberian food was really good. The only thing that I must mention. Their vegan options are limited. They do not make pepper soup with fish so be aware if you don't eat red meat or chicken. They did invite us to their event that evening and again very fun staff. Will definitely go back."

I had a chance to talk to what I believe was the owner here and he was telling me the care to detail they put in the dishes. The injera bread is imported from Ethiopia. He slow cooks the soups and naturally spices the meats. The word salt isn't even the vocabulary. I ordered their combo platter. I had the goat meat, salmon and chicken as the proteins along with the rice, salad and veggies. All of it was good to the very last bite. This spot is a hidden gem and a great discovery."

Ericka G. "The food is good. I was prepared to eat with my fingers but til I realized (upon arrival if my meal) that efo riro isn't served with pounded yam. There is a pounded yam meal option but efo riro is not listed amongst them. So I looked on the menu and knew that must have meant pounded yam is sold as a separate side. It's not. You can't get it or get more of it unless you choose from the limited selections. I'd never had efo riro without pounded yam (fufu). So I looked for the fork to try it the way this place serves it. No fork. Oh so I eat the jollof rice with no fork too? Never done that. So I dig in. I am knuckle deep and belly happy... but.. wait, no napkins? Nuffin. The hell. Well let me drink this soda that I paid an arm & leg for only to learn it's a fountain drink. Hollup... no straw? Am I supposed to be eating like I'm actually in the bush? Why no pounded yam, fork, napkin or straw. I have never in my life. Now, don't get me wrong, the food is good. There's only a teeny bit of spice but it's tastes yummy. But the missing pieces have me questioning how I got here and if I can get room service to deliver me a fork. I should have mentioned... I'm at a hotel. It even said it in my order."

I had never had African food before so i asked for recommendations and they brought out ginger shrimp and i can't remember the other name. Chef Chauncey is very sweet. He answered all my questions about what was in the food, names, how it was cooked, etc! He's also very popular, as we were eating i saw him taking photos with guest! The hookah was good , but unfortunately because i went when they first opened they did not have a bartender working. Couches and booths are comfortable, cute lighting, and the bathroom was clean. I've been hooked ever since! They host a lounge Wednesday through Sunday and i attend at least once every week! Their "late night/ lounge" menu is different and much smaller than the day time menu. My favorite is the suya. The lounge is fun! They play mostly Afro beats/ African music. But they do also play American music. The lounge is open from 11pm-6am so I've noticed that it gets "packed out" around 3am. After all the regular clubs close! 100% recommend giving this place a try."
