Athens on Easy Street

This is a very popular place and not very big so I would highly recommend reservations. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. (Patio is NOT dog friendly) If you want a little entertainment at your table try the Saganaki Flaming Cheese. They light it up right at your table so have your phone ready for that photo or video.I have had and enjoyed a number of dishes including the grilled octopus, Athenian Herb - Pressed Chicken and Moussaka.This is NOT your typical greek restaurant. There are many unusual dishes to try.

I have lived in the Cave Creek/Carefree area for 10 years and I am embarrassed to say that I not been here even though I love Greek food. A friend of mine suggested we go there for lunch in celebration of him getting his new car. He ordered a couple of appetizers instead of a meal and thought that will never fill him up as he is a big guy, but the portions there are GOOD!I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki after asking if they knew the ratio of beef to lamb on their Gyro meat. They did know, but admitted they got it in, not cooked there so I ordered something else. Also a tasty with strong flavors which I like and I had trouble finishing it!!Will be going back!

Each time I eat here this place grows on me and very quickly became a favorite. Athens on Easy is not your average Mediterranean restaurant, their menu is truly unique.This is not the place you want to waste your experience on gyro meat, there are so many other great choices. Thoroughly recommend Lamb burger, ,Lamb Dolmathes, calamari, Mezze Board, Lamb Kleftiko, Lamb Souvlaki and the best grilled octopus I have experienced in Arizona. Every visit I order the octopus and every time it's perfect. Not an easy task. From the moment you step into Athens on Easy Street, you're greeted with the kind of warmth and hospitality that instantly makes you feel like part of a big Greek family. After a few times eating there I've been lucky to try many dishes on their menu, and I'm yet to find one that doesn't dazzle. From the perfectly seasoned lamb dishes that melt in your mouth to the spanakopita and long list of appetizers, each one was special.My visit last Saturday night was particularly memorable thanks to the beautiful live violin music filling the air. The melodies added a layer of charm, transporting us to a serene Greek island without ever leaving Arizona. Whether you're a fan of Greek food or looking to try it for the first time, this place should be on your bucket list!

Athens on Easy Street's name reminded me of Olympic era-Athens pre financial crisis. Having eaten my fill of tacos, In-N-Out, and more tacos, I craved food from the motherland. And when I asked my cuz we're to go, she highly recommended Athens (despite that she's half-Greek and 100% Amerikanaki). The exterior has a Greek-island feel with a dash of good 'ole Southwest. We entered into an nearly empty restaurant, we're immediately greeted and we were asked if we had rezzies? The smirk on my face may have revealed the "are you kidding?" thought reverberating in my nogin'. Foreshadow alert: I felt really stupid a short while later because the place got packed fast. We arrived in time for the robust happy hour menu, and we ordered nearly everything from it. We were strongly advised to order the saganaki (baked, fried and flambéed Greek cheese) and we did. The flambéed table-side show was an unexpected treat. So here's the verdict: everything that came out was Greek inspired and tailored to the American pallets rather than what you would find in a Greek village--which can be daunting to the average mortal. All was executed oh so well and the menu was a curated representation of many areas of Greece. As we were leaving, we met apron clad Auggie who is the proprietor's son hailing from the seaside, Northern Greek city of Kavala. Greek hospitality was on full display by Auggie's staff and the price-to-quality-to-experience ratio was spot on. Make sure to make rezzies because this place is a Greek oasis in the middle of the dessert and everyone knows it.

First time at Athens On Easy Street and it won't be our last! We walked in without a reservation and that was alright. Turns out we made it in time for Happy Hour! Yahoo!!! We chose to sit outside. The outdoor area was starting to get busy but that was ok. It wasn't loud at all! We enjoyed hearing the birds chirping in a nearby tree. We will be traveling to the Midwest where it's been cold & rainy . My husband selected the Gyro & Greek Salad & I chose the Athenian Chicken & Orzo; a glass of Cabernet for each! Fabulous, scrumptious meal!! Our server Gladys made our 1st visit memorable & we will definitely be back!!

The food is excellent (I've tried the salads, gyros, etc.. on the menu over the past year or so). Ambiance & location is perfect for the Carefree Sundial district. A special shout out to Rita and Augie, they (& their staff) ALWAYS go above and beyond to provide an outstanding dining experience for their customers.

Great selection of amazing food with top notch service. Will definitely return to try other menu items. Opha!

Have definitely eaten better Greek food than this. Food looked fine but didn't taste that great at all. They never did anything for a milestone Anniversary despite informing them at entrance and that was such a disappointment unlike any other restaurant who would have made there customers feel welcomed and special. Music was way too loud and difficult to have a conversation. Not a place to celebrate any occasion.

Our host was welcoming, the staff was professional and friendly. The indoor atmosphere was bright and felt as if you were dining al fresco.The outdoor patio is lovely. The food selection was wonderful and made freshly made with authentic Greek flavors. A must if traveling to Cave Creek/Carefee AZ
