Hi Everyone - I hate writing reviews on local restaurants but this experience was too poor to not address. Our group was met with a hostile experience from the hosts immediately upon arrival. Was it the three well behaved children we had? Perhaps, though the restaurant lists itself as "good for kids." The environment was not welcoming at all though the décor was, meaning, the environment and ambiance is set by management and wait staff, not the junk hanging on the wall. My family hails from Genoa and I've grown up in Italian cuisine and know what Italian food and hospitality traditionally looks like. This restaurant is dressed as one but actions will always speak louder than words. The details are my perspective only but can give a concrete example of exactly how inept the restaurant was:Special of the day was "Eggplant parmesan from our woodfired oven." (Note, the same wood fired oven that the pizzas come from, visible from the dining area). The eggplant parm came out more than 20 minutes before the pizzas we ordered. When we challenged the waitress on the main course delivery she said "The eggplant parmesan comes from the oven and the pizzas come from the wood oven so the cook at different times." First, there was a lie, at a minimum, about the preparation of the special (that was not special). Secondly, who cares, your job as a restaurant is to have all the food hit the table the same time. Sorry, but I am not asking for too much here. There are so many amazing places to eat in the area. There really is no reason to go here from what I can tell. The culture of a restaurant starts with the staff and ends with the food. Even if the food was amazing, I could never go back knowing the people hosting didn't want me there as much as I shouldn't be there. To the staff: I began to write a message on the back of our check but, of course, the pen stopped working mid sentence. I couldn't wait there any longer and am sorry for the lack of feedback but then and there was not the place.Happy Dining

Wow blown away finding this little gem so close to home. The owner is from Rome and he makes his bread fresh every morning. When the bread comes to the table it is with a delish olive oil and roasted peppers (just like my mother in law served). We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, wine and dessert. Our server was great and the owner stopped by our table. Everything is homemade fresh to your order, even the Ceasar dressing which is AMAZING! Next time going out in Carefree please stop by, you won't regret it!

Have been wanting to try Alberto's for some time. Found it when we dropped off our Dog's belongings at Puppy Luv (next door) after he passed. Alberto's did not disappoint! Definitely old school Italian! Place is super clean and cozy. Fresh linens on all tables. Staff very attentive. Food was superb, from the bread to the salad to the entree specials! Wine list is amazing Bought a gift certificate for family while we were there too! We will be back!

Very disappointed. Over priced mediocre food. I ordered the carbnara fettuccine. Taste not bad but wow 3 hours later I was sick to my stomach. I think the pork meat in it was old and spoiled. Yuk. My wife had the fettuccine checca. It was very bland like a can of tomato sauce poured over the top with cooked chopped tomatoes. Olive Garden is more of an Italian restaurant compared to this. I ordered a glass of the house cabernet. $11 and about 2 ounces no kidding. Then I get the bill for $52 with tax of $9.95. WTH almost 20 percent. Terrible meal Terrible price . Said it was open until 10 pm but shut it down at 8 pm. on a Saturday night. Will we ever come back heck no.

Best fresh Italian food we have ever had. Wife, daughter and I were warmly welcomed when we arrived. There were a few open tables and no wait for a Friday dinner time walk-in.Ordered drinks and daily specials and family Cesar salad was offered (we neither said yes or no).Drinks were brought and dinner orders were taken. We each selected a different daily special (eggplant, chicken ravioli, and lasagna), which were $25.95 each, a dollar or so more than regular menu items. Cesar salad and bread were brought to the table, though we didn't specify ask for salad. Cesar salad was the best any of us have ever had. Just romaine and dressing, but couldn't have been any more authentic.Dinner came shortly thereafter. Large portions. All very fresh, tasty and satisfying. Absolutely crafted to perfection. All three of us raved at our meals. So, the Cesar salad. It was mentioned in previous posts about the Cesar salad, how it was presented and cost. I glanced over this post without paying much attention. When a Cesar salad was brought to the table, we didn't think much of it, didn't reject it and all three of us enjoyed it. Once the bill came, we realized the charge ($10.95 pp) and were torn...we didn't order yet it was the best we ever had. Experience and lesson learned. Others in the restaurant must have known to say 'no thank you' to the salad. While us being first timers, didn't question the salad being delivered. I wish they would have been a more direct/ clearer with the salad, but am not disappointed that we enjoy d it.So, if you have made it this far..please go and enjoy Albert's, it is the best Italian, but be mindful if you get something you didn't ask for. I wholeheartedly believe this is not a bait and switch, but a genuine gesture of the experience and being part of 'the family'.

BEWARE! - Albertos Restaurant - Cave CreekLast night we went to Albertos for the first and last time.We ordered a bottle of house red wine @ $40. The owner came by and said we dont have that but here is a nice wine - "don't worry - no expensive " he says.We finished our meal and got the check. That "no expensive" turned out to be $88!! I have since talked to a couple of people as well as reading other reviews online and there seems to be a curious pattern here with the bait and switch wine selection. Intentional? - I will let you decide. We looked up the bottle online to see what it costs - $12.98! - gotta love 580% margins - see the attached pictureAnd don't get me started on the suggested, lettuce only, caesar salad ( no protein or even a crouton) for $49??? Just shameful!

We love this place. The place is like a little Italian restaurant on one of the side streets in any town in Italy. Alberto is the real deal charming and talented. The wood fired pizzas are fantastic, as are the specials. I find the marinara the best ever so light and fresh. Speaking of fresh, the bread is fantastic!

This restaurant is the only thing truly representative of Italian cuisine. I come from Italy, I'm often disappointed with most Italian places. Not Alberto's, it was some of the best food I've had. Me and friend will definitely be returning. The place was very homely and the service was amazing!!!!!
