I had been extremely excited about visiting this spot with driends. We ordered a Rioja which was splendind. The escargot appetizer was absolutely beautiful. It wasn't over-seasoned or covered in cheese, so you can actually taste the earthy flavors of the dish. We also got some smoked salmon and it was quite delightful. The entres we ordered were the Lamb, filet minot and chicken. The filet minot was wonderful! But the lamb I ordered was a wee over-cooked. The sauces on top were a little overwhelming and the lamb flavor was lost. The foie gras also did not meet my expectations. Our server, Krsitine, was very attentive and our glasses were never empty. I think next time I visit, I'll have the sauces of the meats on the side.

We wanted to find a French restaurant to cap off our evening at the Monet exhibit at the Denver Art Museum so I searched yelp. All the reviews pointed me to this beautiful space for a romantic evening. We were so pleased!!! We decided to do the chefs tasting along with the wine pairing! Wow! The appetizer was amazing! Smoked salmon on a crisp with a horseradish foam and all sorts of delicious little tidbits like capers and mango sauce! The salad was so light and delicious!

I ALMOST feel bad rating this place badly after 1 pre-fixe wine-pairing dinner with a winery that was largely responsible for the bad experience -- but it is what it is. For $150/pp, we got pretentious down-the-nose looks, the shortest pours I've ever seen at a wine event, sales pitches to buy more wine, and zero interaction with the wine reps (who were eating dinner together with the chef at their own table the whole time -- didn't speak to them once). I go to winery-sponsored dinners all the time, and this one was the most disappointing and least enjoyable. Stags Leap Cellars -- if you're wondering about the winery. The food was good, but nothing special. The chef may be "famous" and a Denver "institution" -- but I can see why none of my food blogger, influencer, or frequent diner friends have even heard of this place. Judging by the age of most of the guests, you gotta be part of the long-standing "in" crowd to come here. The only thing that saved the evening was the heartfelt, committed service of the restaurant staff itself -- or this would be 1 star.

We went here last weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere. Great service, bistro-style restaurant, not formal but cozy and intimate. I think will be great in the summer when they can open it up for al fresco dining. The food: The foie brulee was basically a torchon on top of the brioche with a pairing of cooked berries. The pairing was very sweet and didn't have any acid, it was more for french toast than foie, there was also way too much of it and it overpowered the dish. The brioche was very dry by itself. The sardines were a great dish, bright, fun, great pairings on the dish, perhaps too many things on there. I think the sardines were lost in all the other things going on.For the entrees, we got scallops and elk. The scallops were nicely cooked but swimming in sauce, it was too much. The lentils were nice and there were a few tiny asparagus stalks. Overall plating was messy and amateurish, it took over the whole plate rather than being tight, clean, and composed. The elk was cut into thin pieces rather than a fillet, it was swimming in sauce, again way too much and the plate was messy. Overall, we had a great time, nice wine, and an after-dinner cocktail. I wish the cooking was a bit more refined.

// SummaryWonderful service that far surpasses the quality of food - hopefully it was just an off-day.// ExperienceCame here for a date, where we ordered the smoked scottish salmon, the chicken (poulet marsala), and a scallop dish that was a special for the evening. The salmon was excellent. My date didn't particularly like the chicken, saying it was over-cooked, and I thought the scallops were slightly over-cooked. We did end the night with a decent tiramisu, so you know, it could be worse than 2/4 dishes. // ServiceOur waitress was excellent. She was very energetic and extremely helpful. While we were deciding between desserts, she whispered that one of them wasn't particularly good and urged us the other direction. Gotta love that honesty and her looking out for the diners!// AmbianceThe place is pretty cool - they have a collection of some copper pots and pans along a wall, and other nice decorative touches. The tables are pretty close together, but I feel like you'd expect that coming to a place like this. // ConveniencePretty close to City Park. It was relatively easy to find parking nearby on the side streets.

I really wanted to like this place. I love French cuisine and was surprised on a week night to be taken here. The first thing to note is that there is no parking. Not a huge deal because we were able to find street parking but if it's a busy night you may end up having to park a few blocks away in a residential area. The restaurant had a little outdoor covered patio with a heater so it wasn't too cold in the restaurant when people went in and out. There were many tables, so the reservations we got were probably unnecessary, but it was the only French restaurant open on a Monday night. We waited just a few minutes before our server had us sit in a table. It was a cute venue with copper pots decorating the walls. The service was not good. The waiter would not stay at the table long enough for us to order. He was really short with us and wouldn't wait for me to speak. We looked for a drink and start asking questions about the specials and out waiter disappeared. He came back with a chalk board with the day's specials. I didn't think we needed the visual and he could have just told us the specials, but no big deal. We ordered drinks and appetizers and the. He ran off. We were ready to order everything but he didn't give us more than one second and he was gone. He came back with our apps, However my salad order was wrong but he corrected it quickly. When he came back with my salad (no cheese this time) he finally let us order the entrees.I'll be honest, I love lamb and it was terrible. It was way too salty. The brown glaze was overpowering. The lamb was charred on the outside and tasted bitter but cooked perfectly to medium rare on the inside. The meat itself was good. It was just too salty. My husband ordered the pork and it had the same brown sauce and it was also too salty with a cheese slice melted on top. He came to check on us for less than a minute and was gone for pretty much the rest of the night. We had to flag him down for a check and to give him our credit card. Honestly the star of the night was the mussel appetizer. It had a delicious curry flavored sauce and was unexpectedly creamy. It was perfect with some of the burnt bread slices. I also really enjoyed the beet salad with fresh berries. It was delicious. However by the end of the meal we had to leave quickly to go run an errand and our waiter was chatting it up with the kitchen staff that was busy cleaning for the night. It really isn't an experience I would want to repeat again. The food was not the caliber I was expecting for a French restaurant with such high reviews.

4.5. Came by for dinner during Restaurant Week and overall had a lovely meal. Service was a bit rushed, but that was understandable given the big crowd. We both got the lobster ravioli for the appetizer course and it was really tasty -- just wish there were more than one ravioli! For mains, I got the salmon with caper beurre blanc and my SO got the bouillabaisse. I loved the salmon! Not fishy at all, tons of flavor, and the lentils were delicious. I didn't try his bouillabaisse (allergy), but he said it was pretty good. For dessert we went with the tiramisu and the lemon zest cheesecake. The tiramisu was amazing. The cheesecake was very non traditional and unique. We also finished about three bread baskets and the house red. Those bread baskets were a game changer and allowed us to leave feeling full. We were seated at a table near the counter and a staff member working behind the counter, on multiple occasions, was staring at us, listening to our conversation, and then interjecting. The first time it just seemed friendly, and then it got strange. It was quite uncomfortable and put a damper on the overall ambiance. Besides that, I enjoyed the setting and the charm of the restaurant!

Too many flies! The food is delicious, but we didn't want to share it with the flies that landed on the tablecloth, our heads and necks. They need a screen door.
