the yuca frita is soft, warm, and sweet. The mayonnaise dipping sauce brings out a different taste to the yuca, but in a way that works well.I got an arepa from the Special menu. It is loaded with beef and other different ingredients, great flavor and texture.

Parking is very limited. There are only 4 parking spots in the back but the other patrons found parking somewhere.Order in the front and they will give you a number. Waiter will bring your food along with any sauces that you request.I ordered the Asado Negro Arepa with the Guava Empanada. The arepa is loaded with meat and grilled onions. I got some garlic sauce and mango habanero sauce to give it a kick. The arepa tastes great. The guava empanada is extremely hot so let it cool down first or use dinner ware. The empanada is good as well.

My friend and I went on a weekend around 7 pm. It was busy but not overwhelmingly so and the order process was quick and efficient. We got the yucca fries, a chicken empanadas, and I got the La Pelua arepa. The arepa is so yummy and flavorful, but my only gripe was how much juice was leaking out of it making my arepa quite soggy. The empanadas were fried well, especially the shell, but the filling could've used some more flavor. The yucca fries were fried well and came with a nice, green, and herbaceous sauce. Overall a solid experience and would definitely come again.PS- definitely ask for a side of the habanero sauce (very spicy but super flavorful!)

Cute spit to grab lunch. The biggest issue is parking, but we're were told you can park across the street. Arepas were good, but I think a little bit on the pricier side for the portions.

I've been so excited to try Arepa Mia. I ordered the Asado Negro Arepa and was really disappointed. The menu says it's marinated for 12 hrs but it was really bland. They did give a lot of meat so that was great, but that was the only good thing about it. I also split the rice and beans and that was great. It had a great taste. My husband had the chicken cachapas and his was tasty. On the plus side they got out food out quickly. For 2 people, we each ordered one thing and then split a side and it was a good amount. Next time I'll get the cachapas. Parking: only a few spots. We parked at another local business that was closed.

I was waiting to come here and try Arepas after it was recommended for the fourth time. Now I know why the word of mouth is spreading. These arepas are delicious, ask for the garlic sauce, and the habanero sauce if you still want an extra kick like me. The Asado Negro and the Pollo la catira were what I tried. Tender and flavorful with a crispy outside. I tried the guava and cheese empanadas for dessert. You only get one but it's just enough. The atmosphere is very casual, and there are hardly any parking spaces. This can be filling for lunch but for dinner maybe add a side item. The staff is very helpful, keep your table number visible. I will be back again :-).

A gem in the heart of Avondale Estates. Arepa Mia has garnered strong popularity over the years, all for the right reasons. The menu is customizable and extensive. There's something for everyone. The ambiance is lively, and there is a patio as well. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The arepas and cachapas are our go-to choices. The arepas are savory, whereas the cachapas are sweet and savory. The arepas are big! One arepa and +/- a side is good for one person. If you're up for the challenge, you can ask for their hot sauce on the side. They have several alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. We really enjoy the fresh fruit juices (we love the soursop!).Parking is limited. There is a parking lot across the street, and (very) limited street parking around the corner on College Avenue. In the lot across the street, be careful not to park in the parking spots reserved for Second Life Thrift.

This spot is in a cramped area; there are a few parking spaces in the back, but based on my experience they are likely to fill quickly. The menu variety was considerable, and with the entire menu being gluten-free and a good number of vegetarian and occasional vegan options as well. If you like corn, you'll be happy.A got a tropical fruit juice, which always adds to the vibe. I ordered their version of a domino arepa, typically this is a bean and cheese combo but theirs had plantains and some sauteed vegetables as well. However, I was a bit surprised as I thought I might be getting a couple but there was only one. For what I spent, I wasn't that full. But it was tasty, and this is a cuisine I wish I could find more easily.

Arepa Mia is incredible! I feel like I'm eating authentic Venezuelan food & it's always piping hot & beautifully made. Gorgeous colors, flavors, & culture. The service is always 10/10, super kind people. Generous portions which you can tell were made with love, super chill vibe. I can't wait until they get further recognition so they can hopefully expand closer to the city!

Really cute Venezuelan arepa spot in Decatur! I haven't had a lot of Venezuelan food but I liked this place! They have a bunch of different types to pick from, we ordered two beef and one chicken. All were great! We actually were a big fan of the plantain chips. They were thin and crispy, just lightly salted paired with two delicious sauces! The price point is a little high but they are generous with portions so that makes up for it. Good change up for a restaurant and good lunch spot!
