Amber Agave

Cute spot to chill out and get some boba. I enjoyed the ambience in the shop. I got a custom refresher - watermelon mango peach with lychee jelly. It's delicious. Just the right amount of sweetness even at 100% (you can adjust)!

Stopped by here to get some studying in. I got their strawberry matcha latte which was good but I feel like it would've been even better with more of the strawberry puree! Plenty of seating and I think it's a great spot to hang out and catch up with friends or get work done. I also love how they support other local businesses and have other snack/pastry options from them!

Update: Came back 2 more times and tried a couple more things: Assam Milk Tea = 7/10 - same problem as the oolong, had a good flavor but kinda watered down Taro Milk Tea = 8.5/10 - I ordered it without boba but they accidentally gave me some, can't complain - boba was well cooked this time and the sizing was consistent - still not my fav boba I had but was standard & sweet - Taro flavor itself is very rich and true to the actual taro itself - The drink was on the sweeter end for me, would recommend adjusting sweetness Boyfriend got the viet coffee and loved it (: Once again, we received exceptional service & our drinks came out quickly

The Thai tea with strawberry was so yummmy! Such a good combination of flavor! I was also really excited to try Amber by Night but I really couldn't taste the black sesame. Most of it was on the sides of the cup and hard to mix it in.

Amber Agave is a quaint cafe located in the North West part of Chicago. It is Filipino owned and they are proud of their heritage. You order and pay with the set up kiosks which means the only interaction you will have with the staff is to pick up your drinks.Amber Agave is a cafe that specializes in both coffee and milk tea, something you typically do not see in Houston (where I reside). Their take on a Thai Tea Strawberry was phenomenal. The flavors complement each other and do not overpower one another, as you would imagine. In addition, I got the Space Yam cookie which is their take on an Ube fusion cookie which contain marshmallow, coconut, and ube.Overall, the atmosphere was very relaxed and definitely will visit again if I am back in Chicago!

I saw the capsule cups on instagram and happen to be in the area. I think most drinks you can get 20oz regular cup or a 16oz capsule cup version for the same price. If you pick 1 topping and a nondairy milk, it comes out to about $8 dollars. Not horrible for current times.I do wish the capsule cups weren't plastic, especially since their mission is quality and sustainability. The lids are also not the most airtight, it start leaking from the twist on junction. You can only reuse their tumbler which is $27 for initial drink + tumbler purchase. The straws are bamboo fiber - held up better than paperstraws.I got a strawberry cha yen (Thai tea). The Thai tea was good. Not too sweet (there's no sweetness or ice adjustment option). It was hard to mix the strawberry into the drink with the capsule cup. The strawberry tasted a bit artificial and more syrup than fresh strawberry.I do appreciate all their community collabs! They have a lot of snacks from local vendors. I was excited to see banato on their menu.

The ambience is very modern and rustic. I could imagine studying here if I was still a student. The boba in particular was watered down. My fiancé ordered the build your own from the fruit tea section but was given a milk tea. We were told by the worker that that what's we ordered and how it comes out. However, I'm Asian so I know it should've been a fruit tea. No biggie since I know they just recently opened.The drinks tasted ok nothing great. I had the jasmine milk tea but it was overloaded with ice which made the tea not as prominent. I'd go again to try the signature drinks but that's it. They got other small desserts and snacks from small businesses like SimplyDelights, Salamat Cookies, etc which is a nice touch.

One of us got vanilla and the other agave. Agave produced a better flavor profile than vanilla. But the matcha is very good quality. Oolong milk tea was solid. Summer days refresher needs more texture and/or carbonation to be interesting and "refreshing". Space Yam cookie was a very good, moist ube cookie. Boba pearls had a nice, unique agave flavor but texture was too dense. No issues with service. The large space with the stair seats is nice for having out.

A perfect addition to the Wicker Park neighborhood! I've seen them at a few event pop ups and excited to see them open up their own brick and mortar! It's filled with friendly staff and great snack and drink options. Came opening day and everything looked great! There's plenty of free parking on the surrounding streets so that wasn't an issue. There are kiosks to speed up ordering which was very nice. There's plenty of space with comfy seating and multiple tables. It looks like they partnered with a few local Asian owned businesses (for pastries and a drink collab) which is always a plus!When ordering your drinks you can choose your sweetness level (for most of the drinks) and choose toppings. Highly recommend the fruit teas and purple roots! Definitely worth checking out!

Bright and airy spot with lots of seating and photogenic corners. Solid milk tea with boba! Really well balanced and delicious, plus the pill shaped bottle is fun and almost worth getting 4oz less for the same price. Fast and friendly service means I'll definitely be back!
