We came here for brunch during a weekend trip to Atlanta. From the moment we were seated to the moment we left, service was excellent. Our waitress was so sweet and encouraging of all of our drink/meal choices. The food itself was absolutely delicious! We shared the seafood paella (not pictured), Spanish french toast, and patatas bravas. Not to mention $3 mimosas and sangria!! The sangria is made in house with gin and as someone who typically does not like gin drinks, it was tastier than I could've ever imagined. The ambiance of the restaurant was so well thought out and there was even live music on the patio. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Atlanta!

Recently, I celebrated my girlfriend's birthday at Alto Toro in Atlanta with a party of eight, and while the atmosphere set high expectations, the food left much to be desired.First, the positives: the restaurant boasts convenient parking, both on the street and in a secure garage. Upon entering, the ambiance is striking--dim lighting highlights interesting decor, and a stunning metal art sculpture of a tree immediately captures attention. The layout is cozy, with a bar offering both indoor and patio seating. We were seated at a tall table, and our server was friendly and engaging, which added to the initial positive vibe. However, the food simply did not measure up. The menu was concise, showcasing classic Latin dishes, which is often a good sign, but it fell flat on execution. We started with a variety of appetizers: mussels verde, pan-seared scallops, guacamole, and pulpo zarandeado. While the presentation was impressive, the portions were underwhelming. The scallops, while delicately cooked, were scarce--just a few small pieces. The squid was beautifully charred but disappointingly minimal, featuring only one small tentacle. The mussels, on the other hand, were a standout--served in a generous, flavorful green sauce. For our entrée, we opted to share the seafood paella, with two guests ordering salmon. We were informed that the paella would take about 30 minutes, but we welcomed the wait, enjoying cocktails and conversation. The salmon arrived first, and the presentation was lacking; it appeared overcooked and dry, which was confirmed by my friends who ordered it.When the paella finally arrived, we were disheartened. While the dish was sizable, the seafood promised--red snapper, shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, clams, and chorizo--was disappointingly scarce. The broth was flavorful, but we found only a couple of pieces of each seafood item. The calamari was particularly laughable--so small it resembled a pinky ring. When we expressed our concerns to the manager, the response was less than satisfactory. Instead of addressing our disappointment, she insisted that this was typical for Latin cuisine, offering only a half-hearted toast to make amends, which we ended up being charged for.In conclusion, while Alto Toro has a captivating atmosphere and friendly service, the food did not deliver on quality or value. I would not recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, especially if you're looking for a satisfying dining experience. Save your money and seek out a place that truly respects its patrons.

We selected AltaToro in Midtown for our girls night out after hearing good things about this restaurant offering Latin cuisine. The restaurant aesthetics are on point (definitely gives SoBe vibes) and throughout the evening there's a fire eating act which is a nice touch. The staff is amazing and attentive...Shout out to Jackie! She was great! Drinks were on point...NOW the food. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees to include the following:Chicken and Beef Empanadas OctopusCeviche Del DiaSalmon A La PlanchaHalibut VeracruzPaella De MariscosPaella De MariscosTo sum things up, we didn't love the food. Everything was just ok. The dishes just weren't very flavorful or there were aspects of the dishes that were not pleasing to the palette. The best dish was the Halibut Veracruz. I would go again for the ambiance and drinks but not so much to dine. There's ample street parking and 2 hour validated parking in the adjacent deck.

I went here for brunch on Sunday. I didn't really get to see the inside because we sat outside on the patio. There was a guitar player out there. It was a really nice setting. I must say that the food was really good! We started out with guac and mimosas. The guac was really fresh! I got the Chilaquiles with chicken. It was so good! Our server was really nice. I am definitely going back! They validate parking. Remember to bring your tickets inside with you.

This modern Latin restaurant in Midtown is really cute and decorated well. The roll-up garage doors around the bar area, and the greeney on the patio definitely gave me South Beach vibes. The high energy from the employees and the Latin music in the background set the tone for Sunday Brunch. The large steel tree in the middle of the dining area looks like it could withstand a nuclear blast. I think they call it " the tree of life" very cool artwork. Fri, Sat, Sun, they have $3 Mimosas and Sangria specials. I had the white Sangria, and it was pretty good. I paired it with the churros chicken and waffle. Unfortunately, the waffle didn't have the taste or anything remotely close to churros. I appreciated the fact that the maple syrup came out warm. I'm looking forward to my next Sunday Brunch at AltaToro to try other menu options.

If you're into aesthetics, this place is for you; it is located in the heart of Midtown--with several close parking decks & street parking. The food is decent. I ordered the Salmon a la Plancha. The dish comes with broccolini and white rice. I ordered the Salmon medium well. However, it came out fully cooked. it was tasty therefore I didnt send it back. The broccolini was a bit bland, but paired with sauce and garnishments on the plate tasted decent. The Guacamole & chips were good. The bar is the place to be in the restaurant. It's an indoor/outdoor bar. The drinks are fantastic. They have a seasonal margarita, a frozen Watermelon/berry. ITS AMAZING, a must try!The servers and staff are fantastic. We had consistent table touches and a visit by the on-duty manager. The DJ & fire dancer added a special touch. It's a must-try place. I will return.

Delightful and fun spot for a casual dinner, especially for large groups or chill birthday celebrations! AltaToro serves an array of Latin American tapas, primarily centered around seafood. My favorite had to be their pulpo zaradeado -- the octopus was perfectly tender and springy, and the butternut squash mole and heirloom tomatoes gave the dish a great freshness while still feeling satisfying. I was also a huge fan of their gambas al ajillo, a lovely, flavor-packed shrimp served in a light but well-seasoned lobster stock and with crispy grilled bread. Beyond their food, the real star of AltaToro is their nightly fire dance -- the dancer has a phenomenal performance and is super interactive with the crowd, often weaving between tables to ensure everyone can watch the show. The entire restaurant also has the atmosphere to match, with their incredible artwork, fun and lively music, and super friendly staff! All in all, highly recommend AltaToro for a chill night out with either family, friends, or a date, especially if y'all want some entertainment with your dinner!

Our waitress was amazing. The fire breathing entertainment was pretty dope. The food, that was sub par and not worth it. I am not a mole fan and the manager lady came to check on us and I asked about mole being on a certain dish and she insisted there was nothing with mole on it when I in fact had just had a dish with it on there and it was stated on the menu too. She was condescending and rude. Then when she asked to take the dish and said she would take care of it, she later changed what she said she would do. I won't be coming back, everyone at the table said the same thing about the food. Presentation is nice, flavor, not so much. The ambiance was pretty chill and nice we came for my friends birthday. But as I stated the manager person really took from the experience in top of the food not being real good. My friends said the drinks were really good tho.

I came to visit this place on St Patty's weekend and this place is vibe. The service was great and the entertainment was great as well. The food was okay, packed with flavor but the portions are just small. I liked their wine selection that paired perfectly with our food. I'd recommend for a nice night out.
