Finally made it here! I enjoyed it and would go again -- but, a few things to know in advance.Pros:- Drinks were indeed quite good! I ordered a cocktail off menu, and the bartender honestly admitted he didn't know it. But, he made it and it tasted spot on!- Servers were well trained! Attentive, proactive and responsive.- The food we had was good. Very good, in fact! And, the price was reasonable, particularly for the high level of service we had.Cons:- Portions of some guests were on the small side, but overly large for others. So, if you haven't had the dish before, it's a bit of a crap shoot what size meal you are getting.- It's hard to plan ahead because they don't seem to be keeping the website up with their current menu. For example, we went on September 1st -- apparently the day they changed their menu the most recently. But their website still displays their July menu.

Alley Twenty Six had great atmosphere and great drinks. The pimento cheese is delicious and I definitely recommend trying the other cheeses.Park in a nearby garage.

Been here twice now, tried some burgers and oysters with friends. Drinks were kinda pricey. Burgers well priced imo, oysters a little on the expensive side... HOWEVEROn Tuesdays-Thursdays they have happy hour deals from 4-5 and oysters are a dollar. So obv we went back the next night. May be in some shallow debt but felt like I was making money this day. Ignorance is bliss! Thought it'd be all the smaller oysters that they wanted to get rid of before the normal dinner menu but they were same size. A couple small ones, but very clean and fresh tasting. We paired with some $5 Modelos. Non-pharmacological SSRI experience, if you will. Was a little dark in the nighttime, the ambience is very bar-centric, no one under 21 allowed. Servers are always very responsive and friendly. Will be back for a couple more dozen HH oysters soon. Deuces

It's past Pour Taproom and in front of the US post office. It's relatively small but has a nice, dimmed ambience inside. We were the only ones in the restaurant initially, then a few couples came later on. This place was recommended by a friend for their happy hour on the weekdays, between 4-5 pm for raw oysters. It was $1.50 per oyster (it used to be $1 per oyster), but it fulfilled our craving despite being small ones. The Alley Burger Jr was the perfect burger size for me, it was a 4 oz patty and they give lots of fries! Definitely will come back during happy hours. Anastasia was our server and she was absolutely wonderful! I would recommend her as your server!

This bar was a great pit stop along our sunday funday bar hopping in Durham. The bar itself is really big with two sides and lots of seating. It was busy when we went but both the host and bartender were friendly and attentive. Their menu is unique and the tinned fish menu really caught my eye. If you love tinned fish like me then this is super exciting and if you don't then it's a great place to try it anyways because they have many variations. I have heard things about their burger and it was great! I would say it's the second best in the area which is a very high rating. The meat was delicious and flavorful. The fries it comes with are soooo good and I definitely have a new found love for a runny egg on my burger after eating here. The cocktails are also fun, different, and amazing.

I came to Alley Twenty Six on a Tuesday evening and was able to find parking in the parking structure located near the restaurant. Street parking is also an option if available. I sat at the bar and placed my order. The bartender that I engaged with the most was nice. I didn't have much interaction with the other bartender. The restaurant had a welcoming feel. My food came out quickly. I got the alley jr. burger with fries and an order of the Nashville hot cauliflower. My French fries were hot and tasty. The burger was really good and I loved the topping combinations, and the cauliflower was flavorful. It was not too spicy. I would definitely come back again!

The menu was fun! The poke nachos were great. I did not know what to expect when I ordered the seabass. It was interesting. I was hoping for something a little different. I am glad though that I had the experience!

There is such a fun Tiki bar vibe here. The only thing missing is Martin Denny Exotica playing in the background. They've changed the menu since we were last here. And we are really glad about that. When we first found them, they were changing it up regularly. After everything opened back up, that didn't happen for a while. Now, it has. The cocktails have ALWAYS been spectacular. They make a lot of their own syrups and tonics. (Some of which you can purchase to take home with you. My husband LOVES their tonic.). The whiskey selections are impressive. The wine and beer lists are very good, too. But, it is a bar, so.... Cocktails are more interesting. They have full sized entrees. But, there are a lot of small plates that are great for sharing, too. The whole back of the menu is for Tinned Seafood from all over the world. (I was skeptical. The smoked trout was delicious.) Service is excellent. They tag team everything. They don't rush you but they don't make you wait for ages either. It's obvious that you are welcome to linger as long as you care to. That said, it's a good idea to make a reservation. You can sit at the bar. But, they were jumping even on a Tuesday evening. It gets loud. But, sitting next to each other, we were able to have a conversation without screaming,

If you're ever in Charlottesville do yourself a favor and visit The Alley Light. Their cocktails are perfectly crafted + their food is delicious. PS, make reservations. Hidden behind an alley and large wooden door is this eclectic speakeasy. You're guided up the stairs to this beautiful old building with large bay windows and antique wood everywhere. The small plates pair nicely with all of the cocktails but the drinks are the star of the show. Try something new and let your bartender use their skills and get creative. Trust me, it'll be a new favorite spot!

Let's just start by saying that I've never had one of their cocktails that I haven't enjoyed. The menu is thoughtfully curated to include seasonal flavors, tried and true favorites, plus some inventive combinations. I do wish they were a little heavier on the alcohol content for the price tag, but the flavors are delicious nonetheless! The food menu is also fantastic! I've never been brave enough to try anything on the tinned fish side, but I've heard wonderful things. You'll usually catch me on an oyster happy hour before enjoying one of their highly underrated burgers :)This is a great place for drinks with friends, a date night, or even a solo drink to enjoy the evening air in the alley. Service is always spectacular and come with great recommendations for however you wish to continue the day or night's adventure.
